About You…
As WVUK’s Grant Proposal & Contract Bid Lead, you'll be at the helm of a rewarding opportunity, helping to steer the submission process to fulfill WVUK’s Institutional Funding income requirements. Here's a glimpse into the key responsibilities:
- Mastermind Coordination: Lead, manage, and orchestrate the submission process, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to craft compelling grant proposals. You'll craft a meticulous plan, ensure timely delivery of inputs, and hold everyone accountable for their contributions.

Essential Criteria
- Expertise in Multi-Sector Program Management: Demonstrated proficiency in assessing, designing, and managing projects across diverse sectors within complex settings. A track record of navigating the project cycle successfully and securing institutional funding from bilateral and multilateral donors.
- Exceptional Project Management Skills: Proven ability to excel in managing multifaceted tasks within challenging timelines. Prioritization prowess is key, consistently meeting deadlines amidst competing demands.
- Donor Relationship Management: Extensive experience cultivating and sustaining relations with institutional donors such as DFID/FCDO, EU/ECHO, and UN bodies. Adept at analysing funding requirements and adeptly navigating varied worldviews. Skilled in fostering, managing, and evolving relationships within consortium partnerships.
- Proactive Innovation and Process Improvement: A proactive and creative approach to refining existing processes and devising new strategies for enhanced efficiency and efficacy. Strong emphasis on knowledge management within a high-pressure team environment.
- Team Leadership and Financial Acumen: Proven track record in assembling and nurturing project teams. Proficiency in linking financial aspects with operational requirements to ensure seamless project execution.

Housing management agreements and leases place responsibilities on both the landlord and management agent to provide services to tenants and licences and ensure compliance across all associated legislation (landlord & tenant, statutory landlord compliance and health and safety). The Agency Partnerships Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Look Ahead operates efficiently and achieves full compliance in relation to our housing management agreements, leases and office licences. The post holder will also act as the main point of liaison for the different landlords (both social landlords and private rented sector) and also act as the main interface between the Landlord Services and New Business Teams in ensuring that new services coming over with housing management obligations are properly established and integrated into the service.
The Agency Partnerships Manager will monitor the financial performance of housing management agreements and will take a lead role in negotiating appropriate allowances with Landlords and ensuring the full costs of delivery, including dilapidations and handback arrangements are understood and factored into business planning/financial modelling.
Furthermore, the Agency Partnerships Manager will have a key role in ensuring that operational service understand their responsibilities and will ensure a structured approach to quality monitoring and that Look Ahead/ Landlords are fulfilling their obligations.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the ENN team as our Management Accountant - Grants. The role provides the opportunity to work across the spectrum of ENN’s projects, as part of the operations team. You will be based in our headquarters in Oxfordshire and will work closely with ENN’s Finance Manager and Projects Team.

Bringing your experience of third sector accounting to ENN, you will be able to communicate well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Key responsibilities
Grant compliance and reporting
- Financial compliance of grant spend in line with donor agreements ensuring no disallowable costs and that all allowable costs are reflected in the accounts correctly.
- Provide back up for grant financial reporting in the format required by donors for the projects team to review, collate and submit with the full donor reporting pack.
- Raise sales invoice to the donor with all back up attached and provide acknowledgement of funds letters upon receipt of cash in the bank.

- Review and assimilate grant financial information for the Finance Manager and/or Project team as required which ultimately will be used as input in management reporting for various stakeholders (Technical budget holders, Management Team and Trustees).
- Support the organisation’s income generation ambitions, through the provision of advice, guidance and assistance, and in assisting with funding bids and budgeting and undertaking new funder/partner financial viability assessments as required.
- Maintain and update donor restricted fund balances/movements for year-end statutory reporting.
- Maintain project financial files and records for statutory audit and donor audit purposes.
Management accounting
- Prepare monthly income deferrals and income accruals and maintain month end trial balance reconciliations for management accounts.
- Capture any committed project costs to accrue.
- Apportion any interest earned from grant cash in the bank in line with donor contract terms.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager on cash flow forecasting with regards to expected donor payments.

The Role
This role will work with HHP’s Management Team to develop opportunities for all areas within the Charity. Responsibilities of the role
Finance – approx. 40%
Day-to-day financial management of the charity and its Trading subsidiary including, but not limited to:

Process all day-to-day transactions on the finance system, Xero, including income received from fundraising platforms, ensuring a full audit trail of data processing.

Complete daily bank reconciliations for all entities, including recording and banking cheques and processing petty cash.

Raise sales invoices as requested, following procedures to set up in customer systems, and follow up with customers to ensure timely payment.

Process purchase invoices and expense claims, ensuring appropriate authorisation, in line with delegated authorisations.
-
Set up weekly payment runs for approval by the Head of Finance.

Monitor all financial processes, ensuring finance policies are complied with and deadlines are met, including electronic and physical filing of finance and legal documents.

Complete month end tasks, enabling to the Head of Finance to close the month, including selected balance sheet reconciliations.

Keep Gift Aid records up-to-date and assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of Gift Aid claims.

Assist with the year-end audit, ensuring all relevant paperwork is tidily filed.

Collaborating with the fundraising team, exploring fundraising and donation collection mechanics, identify new developments in the sector and helping to embed any system changes.

Train and support the charity team on the charity’s finance processes.

Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.
Grants – approx. 60%
-
Support the Grants Team to process charity applications for funding, including communicating with interested parties, summarising applications, compiling relevant information, conducting research as required and helping to organise related meetings and Grants Panels.

Preparing and processing funding agreements, reporting forms and other associated paperwork for grants.

Working with charities to collect and develop storytelling information such as quotes, pictures and case studies, and support sourcing participants and contributors for radio interviews and other editorial pieces as needed.

Supporting the team in the organisation, planning and delivery of our skills training programme for charities.

Writing copy for our website and newsletters, and ownership of our communication planner for our charities.

Managing the Grants Team inbox and being the first point of call for queries.

Leading on the management of data and uploading of information on our database (Salesforce), complying with GDPR requirements.

General administrative tasks across the both the Grants and wider charities team, undertaking adhoc projects and supporting initiatives and events as requested.

Assisting the Grants Managers in all administrative aspects of support.

Provide cover for the Governance & Team Co-ordinator in periods of absence.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient and capable of the following:
Essential Experience

Strong A-Level results (or equivalent) and/ or relevant degree / or relevant experience
-
Would suit someone working towards finance qualification such as AAT
-
A passion for working with charities
-
Great interpersonal and relationship-building skills
-
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work

Good time management and ability to work with tight deadlines
-
Ability to deal with personal and sensitive information in a confidential manner

Excellent organisation skills with adaptability and ability to use your initiative

Experience in administration or other relevant work

Previous charity finance experience

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular pivot tables in Excel

Grant-making experience

Curiosity about and understanding of the commercial radio sector
