Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in branding and communications, preferably with start-ups or scale-up companies. Prospectus is delighted to be collaborating with a non profit environmental think tank, developing research and analysis related to ecological limits, to recruit for an Interim Head of Communications on a 6 month contract. This role can be based in London or predominantly remotely, with an expectation for some regular in-person engagement at their London office (preference for 2 days per week in the office but some flexibility with this). This department operates with a largely outsourced model - this is a stand alone role with no internal team to manage (just external agencies). The Interim Head will be responsible for strategic communications and ensuring messages are delivered to key audiences, monitoring emerging trends and driving brand awareness. You will work with programmes to create programme specific communications and media plans and be responsible for crisis management. The successful candidate will have broad communications experience with a good understanding of media, PR and with good agency management expertise. The British Asian Trust is one of the most exciting and innovative charities working in South Asia. An estimated 172 million children in India are considered ‘at-risk’ from various forms of harm and exploitation. The Child Opportunity Fund’s goal is to create more safe spaces to ensure that millions of children can live their lives to the fullest potential. To achieve this, they are aiming to raise $25m which will be matched by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, totalling a $50m fund.
We are looking for an exceptional philanthropic fundraising leader, with experience of leading an appeal and first-hand programme management skills, to undertake a one year maternity cover as the Interim Head of Child Opportunity Appeal. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the appeal, working collaboratively with the team to reach their significant fundraising targets across HNWIs, trusts, institutional funders and corporate partners.

About the role
As Interim Head of Child Opportunity Appeal, you will:
- accelerate and coordinate fundraising for the Child Opportunity Appeal across a diversified range of high value income streams in the UK, India, Dubai and globally;

- coordinate internal working groups as well as external senior volunteers to ensure a consistent and aligned approach to fundraising and new donor engagement;
- produce effective prospect research and robust donor pipelines to secure major donations at the 6 and 7-figure level from HNWIs, corporates, trusts, foundations and institutional funders;
- ensure all donors and partners receive first-class stewardship and relationship management, working closely with in-country, programmes and communications colleagues to produce compelling proposals, reports and updates;

- develop and deliver strong engagement opportunities and leverage cultivation event and project visit opportunities;
- contribute to financial planning and reporting, and develop processes and systems for effective fundraising and stewardship.
About you
Ideal skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience of operating in a senior philanthropic leadership role with a strategic mindset and high levels of ambition
- Exceptional project/programme management skills
- Experience of running a significant philanthropic appeal/campaign, or playing a senior role in the delivery of a large project in a complex organisation
- Experience of implementing a fundraising strategy and successfully meeting KPIs and targets
- Strong track record in securing high value gifts from warm and cold donors and partners, including demonstrable ability to independently manage the fundraising process from research/identification to closing the ask

As the Head of the Professional Conduct, your role entails managing and overseeing all functions of the committee and its associated panels or boards within the institution. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that these entities collectively meet their obligations to the institution's Trustee Board efficiently and effectively.
As the Manager of the Professional Conduct Department, you'll:
- Handle complex inquiries about professional conduct from members and others, following the Institution's rules closely.
- Supervise the complaints process, providing expertise and advice when decisions need to be made.
- Oversee the Professional Conduct Manager's administrative duties for the Committee.
- Manage the Disciplinary Board and its legal team, arranging training when needed.
- Stay updated on disciplinary law and best practices, suggesting changes to rules and guidance.
- Share updates and guidance on professional conduct matters with members through various channels.
- Handle appeals related to Committee and Board decisions.
- Deal with misrepresentations of membership and titles, reporting to the Committee.

- Manage the licensing of the Institution logo, addressing any misuse.
- Manage the Expert Witness register.

Key requirements and experience:
- Supporting committee members by taking minutes, proofreading documents, ideally in a chartered membership organisation or similar setting.
- Assisting committees and panels in developing, implementing, and applying clear and consistent policies and procedures to ensure high-quality decisions and continuous improvement, with a comprehensive audit trail.
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory guidance, providing consistent and appropriate advice in line with established policies and procedures.
- Leading and managing a professional conduct and disciplinary function, collaborating with committees to investigate allegations of professional misconduct.
- Working with volunteers, recruiting chairpersons and panel members, and coordinating elections.
- Writing reports and producing summaries/communications for senior-level consideration.
- Drafting guidance documents and reviewing codes of conduct for publication and formal communications.
