Job description

Prospectus are excited to be working with the MS Society to help them recruit for a Philanthropy Manager to join their team. MS Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis. By campaigning, funding key research, and offering local support networks, MS Society is aiming to find treatment for everyone affected by MS and until then ensuring no one has to face it alone. With a pioneering research programme, now is an incredibly exciting time for the organisation and those supported by the charity.

This role is offered on 18 months fixed term maternity cover basis paying between £41,260 to £43,735 per annum with flexible working arrangements at their London office.

The post holder will have three direct line reports and will support the Head of Philanthropy and Events with the overall implementation of the Philanthropy team’s objectives. They will have their own portfolio, identifying, engaging and stewarding a mix of cold and warm philanthropists, senior volunteers and prospects. The post holder will manage members of the Philanthropy team to achieve their income targets and provide a fantastic experience for all their major donors.

They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of experience of personally securing five and six figure major gifts from individuals in a charity environment. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience of managing and developing relationships with existing and potential philanthropists, influential individuals, and senior volunteers to inspire them to support the charity. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and networking skills, able to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders and facilitate strong relationships with a wide range of people inside and outside the Society, specifically including High Net Worth individuals.

At Prospectus we invest in your journey as a candidate and are committed to supporting you with your application. We welcome all candidates to apply, regardless of age, sex/gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, marital status or pregnancy/maternity. If you have any disability and require reasonable adjustment/s to any part of the process then please contact Firas El Dib at Prospectus.

If you feel you meet some of the criteria but not all, we really hope you'll enquire and learn more. Prospectus can advise and support on each part of the role and hopefully your application, so we look forward to hearing from you.

In order to apply please submit your CV in the first instance. Should your experience be suitable, we will arrange for a meeting to brief you on the role. You'll then have all the information you need to formally apply. We are looking forward to connecting with you soon.
