Job description

Exciting new role for an adaptable all-round fundraiser with a successful track record in trust fuindraising.

Are you an enthusiastic self-starter with ‘all-round’ fundraising skills and experience of working with charitable trusts? Do you want to widen your fundraising experience and make a real difference to the lives of children and adults with eczema?

We’re looking for an exceptional fundraiser to join our fast-growing national charity and take our income generation to the next level. This is a new post and, as the lead fundraiser, you’ll be working closely with our Chief Executive to plan and deliver an exciting fundraising programme and achieve our income targets.

These are exciting times for the National Eczema Society. We have an ambitious new strategy for growth, to maximise the impact of our work, expand our services and increase the number of people we support. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of fundraising and marketing, and will personally lead our fundraising work with trusts and foundations. As such you’ll need excellent writing skills and experience of producing successful funding bids, along with the communication skills and personality needed to deliver excellent donor care and stewardship. You will also lead our small but growing challenge events programme.

The role will suit someone who is proactive, confident and enjoys variety, and is able to use their own initiative. You’re also likely to be motivated by the opportunity to learn and to shape our fundraising strategy and organisational growth. We don’t expect candidates to have experience in all the fundraising responsibilities listed, but solid trust fundraising experience is a must. This is a part-time position and the working pattern is negotiable.

About National Eczema Society

National Eczema Society is the UK charity for everyone affected by eczema. As a relatively small and agile organisation, we punch above our weight and have big digital ambitions. We rely on voluntary donations to fund our vital work providing information and advice about eczema through our helpline, website, social media, publications and awareness campaigns. We also provide a collective voice for people with eczema, supporting research into new treatments and campaigning for better medical care.

In the UK, around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 12 adults live with eczema. Our mission is to empower people with eczema to become ‘expert patients’, so they have the knowledge, skills and motivation they need to self-manage their own or their children’s eczema most effectively.

We are passionate about improving the quality of life for people with eczema and raising awareness of the condition. You would join our small, friendly team based at the charity’s office in Camden, north London.
