As Project Support Officer you will support the London & South East Area Manager and Regional Managers with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training, giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our London & South East projects as and when required to aid development and growth within the region.

Each of our Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position) and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your will support the Regional Managers so that they can manage more projects, knowing that you have helped with the embedding of volunteers, along with supporting expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new Project Leaders for the Area.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.

This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include evening and weekend work. As well as projects across London, our South East projects include Southampton, Portsmouth, Aylesbury and exciting new openings in Slough and Reading in 2024.

About the role 

As the Head of Research and Monitoring Unit (RMU), Scotland and Northern Ireland you will contribute to the strategic direction of Sustrans' evidencing work. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to RMU, working alongside the Director of Evidence and Insight and RMU’s Senior Leadership Team. 

RMU conducts evaluation and research to assure the delivery of Sustrans impact and influence policy, investment and practice in support of Sustrans’ vision.

You will drive a culture change in Sustrans where impact is central to the operation, and this is understood and acted upon at all levels; you will identify areas of the Sustrans Scotland delivery portfolio in which impact can be improved; and you will empower colleagues to think creatively, pragmatically and collaboratively about developing outputs that are useable, objective, efficient and timely. 

This senior leadership role is about shaping resourcing in response to changes in funding, evidencing and communicating the value of investment in active travel, and demonstrating the value added by Sustrans’ role.

Acting as the senior-level interface between the RMU, Sustrans Scotland and Transport Scotland, you will enable the generation of high-quality evidence, use this material to support service improvement in delivery by Sustrans in Scotland and partners, and engage Transport Scotland, providing justification of their investment and advocacy for future policy and investment decisions. 

This role also covers similar activity Northern Ireland, but due to the balance of investment the role is more heavily focused on Scotland than on Northern Ireland. The brief is similar for Northern Ireland, but the delivery and evidencing portfolios are much smaller, with a focus on developing more evidencing and evaluation operations in NI. 

We offer true hybrid working, a mix of home working and time within our new Hubs in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with flexible working patterns to suit individual circumstances. On occasion, there will be travel, and possible overnight stays required. 

About you   

An experienced senior leader, you will build relationships easily at all levels; adapting your communication skills to engage and influence people, as well as a proven record of successful working strategically with a diverse range of partners.  You should have experience of resource management, including managing and implementing change initiatives. About you 

• CIPD Qualified with experience in a senior HR role

• Experience of delivering on HR change and transformation projects would be beneficial

Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this new role is to support the growth of Kinship by significantly contributing to infrastructural development, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, and seamless delivery of the HR function. As a pivotal role within Kinship, the HR Project Manager will lead on all employee lifecycle activities, creating high levels of engagement and positive experiences for staff.

Working in partnership with the Interim Head of People and Culture, Director of Finance, People and Performance, the wider management team and Kinship’s external HR consultants (HR Dept) to design, develop and embed a high-quality HR function to support the employee life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with legal requirements and policies.

- Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and provide guidance to line managers.

- Lead the collation of monthly payroll data and ensure its accuracy.

- Manage HR systems and databases to process employee data in line with GDPR regulations.

- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring an excellent experience for candidates and hiring managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's induction framework and deliver induction sessions for new joiners.

- Identify learning and development needs within the charity and create cost-effective learning plans.

- Support the development and delivery of an effective performance management framework.

- Manage an employee relations caseload and provide support and guidance to line managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's EDI framework and embed EDI principles across the charity.

Skills & Experience Required:

Role overview

The Partnership Manager will oversee and deliver account management across our mentoring partnership portfolio. This role involves managing the partner experience across a range of sectors, including higher education, the third sector, schools and corporate partnerships. The post-holder will be responsible for onboarding new partners, supporting them in developing their yearly mentoring plans, engaging in regular communications to ensure we’re on track with our deliverables, and renewing contracts annually. Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators such as partner satisfaction, partner engagement and meeting renewal income targets. 

Key responsibilities

• Onboard new partners and welcoming them to Brightside
• Complete annual mentoring project plans with all partners
• Provide account management for partners to ensure a positive experience
• Coordinate our partner engagement work (such as our partner forums and the partner satisfaction survey)
• Meet regularly with partners to monitor project deliverables and ensure we meet and surpass expectations
• Lead critical partnership meetings, including planning meetings, mid-point reviews and end of contract reviews
• Lead contracting and renewal discussions with partners to achieve renewal income targets
• Manage partner contracts and invoicing
• Lead the recruitment function for our London based mentoring project, working with schools to promote the opportunity to young people
• Create and monitor renewals strategies for each partner

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000
