SCI is recruiting for the Director of Stakeholder Engagement, reporting to the CEO, with responsibility for the membership and innovation programmes. SCI has been growing over the last few years as the challenges of addressing sustainability, net zero and global health are becoming increasingly urgent and many companies and key stakeholders are looking to collaborate, build knowledge and skill their teams.

The role has responsibility for engaging and growing membership, including continuing to build the expanding corporate partner network, which includes large global blue-chip companies as well as SMEs. Responsibilities also include management of the team of six to deliver the range of membership programmes including the awards programme, careers programmes and the innovation programmes. The role sits on the Senior Management Team responsible for driving the strategy of the charity.

Key areas of responsibility are:

§  Growing membership and membership income.

§  Management of the growing blue-chip Corporate Partners Network.

§  Management of the SCI Awards Programme with awards across the range of early, mid, and senior levels.

§  Management of the SCI Early Career programmes, including the College of Scholars and the SCIdea Entrepreneurs Programme.

§  Coordination of the Innovation Programmes (in collaboration with the CEO and Head of Innovation).

Endometriosis impacts the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. This is only possible through close collaboration between  London's Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), London's Major Trauma Centres and the wider Major Trauma Networks, to deliver groundbreaking care and save lives.

To deliver this service the Charity is split across two locations, with offices in Mansell St and in the Royal London Hospital. 
The Charity has grown significantly in size and complexity over the last few years and we are now seeking a Finance Business Partner to support the Deputy Director of Finance to provide the charity's Financial Performance and Analysis function.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance this post supports the provision of high quality financial reporting to assist budget holders, managers, directors and trustees. Acting as a finance business partner you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support decision-making and drive the financial performance of the charity.

Key areas of responsibilities;

• Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and non-finance colleagues, to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Own the full life cycle of reports from build to delivery.
• Budgeting and forecasting: Assist the Head of Financial Performance & Analysis in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather necessary information and oversee the consolidation and review of departmental budgets into a cohesive organisational budget.
• Financial analysis: Monitor actual performance against projections and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
• Systems accounting: Maintain and improve the charity's accounting systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and implementing new features or upgrades as required.
• CRM management: Work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Head of Data to ensure financial reporting requirements are adequately considered when managing the CRM.
• Advanced data analysis: Utilise tools such as PowerBl, Power Query, and advanced Excel functions to build reports, conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Job Purpose

The post holder will work cross-functionally to provide front-line administrative and transactional systems support to the People team and the Finance team. Within the HR/People elements of the role, the focus will be on day-to-day systems and process queries, recruitment, HR system support to Ada’s staff, compliance and general HR administration. This will require the post holder to have strong communication skills, strong attention to detail, and have the ability to manage and prioritise their workload.

Role Responsibilities:

Finance Support: 60%

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Purchase Ledger:

• Ensure that purchase requisitions are received and processed on the accounting system in a timely manner,
• Ensure that all expenditure is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account, and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure all suppliers’ invoices are attached to purchase requisitions on ApprovalMax
• Prepare mid and end of the month BACS payment run and ensure that suppliers are paid within payment terms,
• Receive and check all statements from suppliers,
• Investigate and action any issues that arise with regards to creditors,
• Regular review and maintenance of the outstanding purchase order and goods received notes report,

Support the Assistant Finance Manager in updating the Sales ledger:

• Ensure that all income is recorded against the relevant nominal code and cost account and that the correct VAT code is used,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are processed and sent to debtors promptly,
• Ensure that all requests for sales invoices are monitored and chased so that the prompt payment is received

Petty Cash:

• Ensure that the disbursement of the funds, keeping records of those disbursements and requesting replenishment of the fund is done accordingly to the Petty Cash Policy;
• Ensure that the reconciliation of the business petty cash transactions is done on the bi-weekly basis in the Xero finance system.

Other finance duties:

• Support Assistant Finance Manager in preparation of the pay runs;
• Monitoring finance account inbox and dealing with staff, students and supplier queries to ensure they are quickly and properly resolved;
• Support staff in following the financial policies and procedures, such as: filling out charge card tracker, purchase orders, setting up new supplier;
• Support the Finance team in setting up a Fixed Asset Register and making sure it is kept up to date on a regular basis;
• Support the Finance Team with any other queries that may arise.

HR Support:

Recruitment

• To work with the HR Manager to draft adverts for posts being advertised, ensuring that they are well-written and engaging.
• To obtain quotes for advertising on various job boards and recruitment media channels in a timely and accurate fashion ensuring the best possible exposure for vacancies
• To coordinate interview/selection logistics including room bookings, diary management, scheduling and preparation of relevant materials and sending invites to candidates
• To support the HR Manager with the administration processes around onboarding and offboarding of staff including consultants, mentors, volunteers and governors.

Inbox Management & Staff queries

• To manage the recruitment inbox, responding to candidate and hiring manager queries in a timely manner
• To work with the HR Manager to manage the HR inbox, responding to staff enquiries in a timely manner recognising that some correspondence will be highly confidential and/or sensitive in nature.

Systems & Compliance

• To be the main point of contact for all HR system queries and to action all first-level system transactions, escalating more complex transactions to the Head of People & Talent or the HR Manager.
• To send out reference requests for all shortlisted candidates, chasing responses and passing on to the relevant line manager
• To maintain spreadsheets and trackers to ensure all relevant HR information is collected and collated (eg vacancies, DBS and other pre-employment checks, probationary periods, performance management, exit interviews.)
• To create and maintain electronic copies of  personnel files
• To support with the updating of the Single Central Record for all staff, volunteers, consultants, agency workers and governors
• Under the direction of the Head of People, issue relevant letters to staff in relation to Employee Relations (ER) matters ensuring that timelines are strictly followed, meetings arranged, notes/minutes taken and all paperwork, including checklists, is fully completed.
• To support the People team with all HR policies, processes and projects as required.

General Administration

• To provide accurate data for Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) in monthly data returns,
• Liaising with CIVICA support team to seek advice on better use of MIS (REMS),
• Acquire data from primary and secondary sources and update database system REMS,
• Keeping up to date with the latest ESFA funding rules and regulations.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

We work with older people to:

• Encourage active and independent living

• Reduce isolation and loneliness

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health

• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

1. Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
2. Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
5. Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
6. Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
7. Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Delivery

• Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
• Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
• Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.

2. Staff and Volunteer Management

• Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
• Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.

3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks

• Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

5. Other Duties

• Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
• Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britons rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end pollution.

For this role we are looking for people who will blend intelligent analytical problem solving and laser-focused tactics with creative and engaging ways of inspiring others to act and to achieve impact through our work.

What you’ll be doing:

The Campaigns Coordinator will help to deliver highly engaging public and political campaigns and activations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Campaigns and the wider team to develop and deliver positively disruptive campaign strategies designed to meet the organisation’s overarching goal of rescuing our rivers. You’ll be investigating the causes of river pollution at a catchment level, delving deep into supply chains to uncover those behind the damaging practices that are killing our rivers and identifying constructive solutions at a catchment and national scale. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver creative campaigns and tactics, designed to have the greatest impact on the most threatened rivers and communities by engaging the voting and consuming public and holding polluters and government to account. You’ll be supporting the Head of Campaigns and our external consultants to deliver our political advocacy and legal action strategy to bring about change at the highest level of decision making. You will bring energy and innovation for scaling our reach and impact, blending a touch of the maverick with a professional and diplomatic approach to bringing about change urgently.

Main Duties 

• Contribute to the delivery of River Action’s campaign strategies.

• Plan, deliver and coordinate data-driven campaigns for community, media and political audiences.

• Generate highly engaging written and graphic content for our campaigns, adjusting the tone and messaging to different audiences and campaign needs.

• Utilise research showing the causes and sources of river pollution at a catchment level within the policy and regulatory context and assess evidence (including scientific data and reports) to develop impactful campaigns.

• Work with our outside legal counsel to explore legal routes to tackling river pollution such as bringing judicial reviews targeting Government and private actions targeting industry.

• Utilise River Action’s project assessment and management systems and processes to ensure the efficient coordination of campaigns. 

• Investigate and report pollution supply chains at a catchment level for example the relationship between farming, producing, transporting and retailing food and the associated pollution.

• Plan, deliver and coordinate creative campaigns including petitions, public meetings, protests, stunts and campaign collateral such as video and other content. 

• Develop key campaign tools and assets such as props, promotional assets, toolkits and digital campaign tools.

• Draft engaging written content for different audiences to raise awareness of the problems rivers and communities face and offer hope and solutions.

• Contribute data and research outputs for the creation of press releases, MP briefings, policy documents and public communications.

• Represent River Action at campaign events and media opportunities, providing well-informed, professional and motivating contributions. 

• Coordinate contractors and suppliers that are engaged to support our campaigns and activations.

• Contribute data and content for our impact monitoring and evaluation systems.

• Produce internal monthly campaign reports and provide content and data for external communications. 

• Maintain and develop partnerships with other key groups and stakeholders working in similar areas of work to River Action.

• Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Actions network of supporters. 

• Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and high quality digital and social media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos, writing articles/blogs, providing comments and conducting interviews.

• Support the Head of Campaigns, Communications Coordinator and Senior Media Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

• Help ensure all team members are well-briefed and on brand ahead of external engagement.

• Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowd funding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and charity’s mission.

• Work as a motivated and collaborative team player within a fast-paced team.

• Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager or any other member of the River Action team.

• An understanding of the issues that are impacting our rivers, land and wildlife, especially relating to land management including agriculture, transport, and utilities.

• The ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing including the media, community groups, other NGO representatives, supporters and followers on social media.

Written submission

River Action has just released data about the state of the British dairy industry in the national press. Please provide a one page campaign plan for how you would use that data and initial story to target the responsible polluters and government regulators, mobilise the public and campaign for urgent changes in industry practices and regulation. Consider how you would generate media headlines about the pollution problems and potential solutions while raising the profile of River Action, promoting positive opportunities that put farmers in a positive light and offering support to help them change their practices while targeting the root causes of the systemic problem caused by lack of regulation, lack of incentive and pressures from supply chains such as supermarkets. This should include your idea, target audience, how you would measure success, and a high level project plan. You do not have to include costs but your proposal should be appropriate for an overall budget of £20,000. Should you be successful in being invited to interview, you may be asked to present this idea.

You'll be responsible for the Business Partnering of some strategically important areas across the Group, supporting them to deliver their financial targets by developing trusted relationships and working alongside ELT members and budget holders to produce their finance model, annual budget and termly forecasts.

You'll influence and negotiate with senior colleagues and provide technical and strategic insight to ensure AaA reaches its financial targets. You'll lead on the monthly management accounts and reporting process, providing financial advice and support to projects within key departments and ensure that budgetary implications of projects are understood and dealt with appropriately.

The role would suit either a qualified accountant (can be recently qualified) who trained at a top 15 private accountancy firm/equivalent public body (e.g. NAO) or an experienced finance business partner.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an accountancy qualification (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPF);
• Can rapidly build understanding in a complex new environment and who can work independently, exercising judgement while not under close supervision;
• Has knowledge and experience of strategic finance and business planning;
• Has either knowledge of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) (FRS 102) 2019, or knowledge of IFRS or FRS102 and the ability to quickly learn the differences under the SORP (with support from colleagues); and
• Has proven experience of working closely with stakeholders at varying level of seniority.
