JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Trust and Foundations Manager to join our ambitious and friendly team, initially for a six-month contract. We are seeking to grow our funding partnerships, with a team focus on multi-year and £50,000+ grants. The successful candidate will have a particular focus on researching, cultivating and applying to new prospects. We are looking for someone with excellent writing and interpersonal skills to join our dynamic and passionate team to fight child hunger and unlock opportunities for the next generation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New business

Prepare, compile and submit high quality funding proposals and budgets in accordance with timetables and application criteria, with a particular focus on larger, multi-year and project funding opportunities.

Develop cultivation pathways for potential funders, including creating tailored engagement plans for high level donors, arranging school visits, attending key meetings (or briefing senior stakeholders) and delivering presentations to secure their support.
Account management

Successfully manage relationships from your own portfolio of trusts and foundations, ensuring timely reporting and effective communications.

The Marketing Manager at CBM UK is a vital role and has responsibility for delivering CBM UKs digital and direct marketing plans to engage and inspire individual supporters and churches to support the work of CBM.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, as part of the Public Fundraising team, the role holder will be responsible for the management and development of two Marketing Officers. Through digital and direct marketing, the Public Fundraising team are responsible for raising over £3m of unrestricted income from cultivation, acquisition, mid-value donors, regular giving, legacies and churches.
Key responsibilities
Fundraising campaign management (40%)
Manage the effective implementation of the annual public fundraising plan, ensuring that all activity is of a high standard, and delivered on time and to budget:
a. Oversee cultivation fundraising appeals primarily carried out through direct mail and email, leading on the continued development of mass fundraising to engage both existing and potential supporters, including high donors, regular givers and church communities.
b. Manage and develop CBM UKs donor acquisition activity in collaboration with the Marketing Officer (Acquisition), using channels such as social media, magazine inserts, press advertising, email and telephone.
c. Oversee the delivery of CBM UKs legacy and in-memoriam giving plans and campaigns.
d. Identify and consider new income streams and broaden the channels used currently for direct response campaigns to reach an agreed balance of long-term value versus risk.
Digital marketing (40%)
Grow digital engagement and income from new and existing supporters:
a. Lead on Pay Per Click strategy, including agency management and development of internal capabilities.
b. Oversee CBM UK’s paid social media activity.
c. Collaborate with the Communications Team to optimise the performance (traffic and income) of fundraising pages, including appeal and donation pages, churches and community, legacy, and in memoriam giving. Ensuring fundraising pages on the CBM website are engaging to existing and new audiences and where appropriate, utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools where appropriate.
d. Explore and make use of new and existing digital platforms and partners, such as Dataro and SEMrush, while promoting a culture of testing, innovation and learning within the digital space.
Leadership and people management (10%)
a. Support and inspire direct reports in line with CBM UK’s staff management policies and procedures. Ensure team members are appropriately trained, briefed and motivated to achieve their objectives and meet targets and recruit to posts where relevant. Regular 121s and appraisal reviews.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Monitor and report on fundraising appeals, identifying opportunities for future testing and optimisation, and contribute to the creation of annual planning, budgeting, and the setting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
b. Work closely with the Data and Insight team to ensure strong joint working on technical solutions related to campaign analysis, tracking and insights across digital systems, such as the website, donation platform and CRM (Salesforce).
c. Plan, deliver and report on campaigns/projects within an agreed budget.
Other
a. Ensure the consistent use of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide across all fundraising activities.
b. Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to direct marketing, including Fundraising Regulator guidance, and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
c. Collaborate with colleagues across CBM UK and the CBM Global Federation, to support integrated and partnership based working.
d. Help foster a positive and inclusive culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM, and promoting positive working and innovation.
e. Be willing to work occasionally outside normal office hours and to travel in the UK and internationally if required.

About the role
This role is pivotal to the growth and success of the charity. Its purpose is to support the Director of Partners and Engagement and fundraising team, and Head of Business Development, to lead the charity’s income generation. This includes activities in sourcing small, medium, and major (up to six figures) grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, and institutional/government funders, and individual donors where appropriate. Where opportunity presents, the role holder may also support the business development function. This could involve assisting in the development and implementation of new business growth opportunities to boost income generation. The role will involve project and core-cost fundraising.
Responsibilities
· Work with the Director of Partners and Engagement and the fundraising team to maintain existing funds; research new income streams and prepare and submit business cases; and source new funding opportunities for Access Social Care’s projects and core-cost needs.
· Participate in planning and strategy meetings. Work with the Finance Director and other leaders to develop and implement annual fundraising/income generation plans, gift tables, and budgets to achieve income targets.
· Monitor income targets and provide regular progress reports and updates on performance against target.
· Create and implement cultivation plans for high-value donors. Build and maintain long-term relationships with trusts and foundations, individual donors, and other income-generation partnerships through meetings and the production of detailed reports and presentations to generate repeat donations and renew income streams.
· Lead on funding bid applications and reports including working with senior colleagues across the organisation to draft warm and cold acquisition, and bespoke written applications.
· Build, monitor and manage a pipeline of prospective Trust & Foundation and Funder opportunities.
· Keep comprehensive records of all fundraising and business development activities.
· Maintain excellent relationships with internal stakeholders ensuring an up-to-date knowledge of current activities of Access Social Care’s work and brand. Secure case studies to showcase the charity’s work.
· Represent the organisation at public events as required.

Job Purpose:
The Community Fundraising and Events Lead role is key to us as we explore fundraising opportunities on a local level in our communities. The successful candidate will support Community Fundraising Volunteers as they take part in various challenge and fundraising events across England, Scotland and Wales, helping us to reach our goals of growing our unrestricted revenue base. As the newly created Head of Partnership Giving, you will develop and deliver a strategy to secure transformational support from corporates, charitable trusts, and foundations, helping to ensure sustainable income for adults, children and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes with life-limiting conditions
Reporting to the Associate Director of Supporter Engagement, the Head of Partnership Giving will lead a passionate and talented team of five, as well as taking a proactive role in nurturing existing relationships while proactively identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
This role will be responsible for leading the team to generate £1.5m annually and as part of our newly launched Fundraising strategy, will focus on growing High Value partnership income to £2.2 million annually over the next three years. Myeloma UK is looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to join our growing Community and Events team. You’ll be joining the team as we continue to refine and expand our mass participation events portfolio including London Paris Ride, Great North Run and 100 miles for myeloma. You will have experience in event delivery or project planning, delivering these activities within tight deadlines while successfully building effective relationships.
The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team. You will be self-motivated and able to work remotely with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks and having an interest in sporting and mass participation fundraising events.

About the role
As the Events Fundraiser you will be required to research, promote and deliver fundraising events, campaigns and activities, providing excellent stewardship to supporters, whilst working to help achieve monthly fundraising income targets. You will work to deliver an annual calendar of runs, walks, challenge and sporting events across the UK as well increasing support through Myeloma UK virtual and Facebook events.
The role holder will work with the Senior Event Development Fundraiser to provide the highest quality of event delivery as well as developing relationships, securing support, marketing, delivering and monitoring the event ensuring post event evaluation and future recommendations are made. They will also work closely with Community Fundraisers, supporting them as they identify opportunities to expand and diversify their fundraising portfolio.

Purpose
This vital role works alongside the Head of Philanthropy to help build and grow our philanthropic partnerships over the next five years and beyond. As well as building upon current relationships, you will identify, research and cultivate relationships with charitable Trusts and Foundations as well as major donors to raise both restricted and unrestricted income.
Responsibilities and areas of work
This important role will focus primarily on Trust Fundraising but will also encompass Major Donor Fundraising. It will seek to identify new high-level donors, as well to develop existing relationships with our generous supporters. Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, other team members and external consultants, and in collaboration with our colleagues in the
Programmes Team, the Senior Philanthropy Officer will focus on building our trust portfolio – with a focus on donors giving £5k - £100k per year
1. New business acquisition:
a) Researching new individuals and trusts to build a prospect list for future funders, using our database (Salesforce), available lists and external databases. Assessing the potential for active, lapsed and prospective donors to support CBM and recording accordingly.
b) Recommending tactical next steps for engagement with new individuals and trusts, for approval by the Head of Philanthropy.
2. Stewardship and cultivation of current and active donors:
a) Developing and implementing tailored stewardship plans, so that individuals / trusts are engaged in a bespoke manner, and that application and reporting deadlines are met.
b) Leading on the production and submission of applications, proposals and initial approaches (by post, email and, to a lesser degree, phone) and following up as required.
c) Reporting to donors in a formal or informal way, as appropriate, to ensure they are kept up to date with CBM and project developments d)Organising, facilitating and attending face-to-face and online meetings with high-level donors/ trusts, including organising dates and venues, and creating Meeting Briefs for all attendees to ensure positive outcomes.
3. Proposal and Report Writing
a) Designing and crafting compelling proposals, reports, project timelines and budgets that meet the bespoke needs of donors whilst meeting the needs of CBM and our Programme delivery colleagues, within agreed deadlines.
b) Working with members of the Programmes Team to ensure the accuracy of proposals /reports, and with members of the Fundraising & Communications Team to ensure consistency of messaging.
c) Working with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team to develop new projects/ themes/
appeals for potential projects.
4. Other Team Responsibilities:
a) Helping to develop the Annual Forecast Budget for the Team, and providing updates on the pipeline and progress against targets.
b) Ensuring all information, donor activity is recorded and kept up-to-date on our database to fully-inform any approaches / meetings.
c) Providing proof-reading and copy-editing support to colleagues.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Emmanuel is one of the Colleges that make up the collegiate structure of the University of Cambridge. We provide a community-focused environment for learning, living and working in peaceful and beautiful grounds situated in the centre of the City. The College was founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay and has been a centre of outstanding learning ever since. It currently has around 700 students (undergraduate and postgraduate), 90 Fellows (who teach and research at the College) and 180 staff. We welcome people into the Emma community from across the globe, of many different backgrounds, with many different experiences.
The Development Office supports the college in its charitable purpose by building and maintaining a supportive, lifelong, two-way relationship with Members (alumni), and engaging the community of members and friends to contribute their time, expertise and philanthropy. Between 2015 and 2022, the Development Office raised £38m in new philanthropic income through the Emma enables campaign. This was the college’s most successful campaign ever and saw a significant uplift in philanthropy across major, regular, and legacy giving. We are looking now to build on this momentum as we plan the next campaign.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES
The post-holder’s principal objective is to manage the successful development and delivery of the College’s regular giving programme, using multi-channel approaches to increase the value and number of members (alumni) and friends who give, to build on this sustainable annual source of philanthropic income.
Fundraising
- Manage and develop a successful regular giving programme, taking initiative to plan and organise an annual cycle of activity to ensure all contactable members are solicited for a gift once a year, maximising donor retention.
- Manage and deliver the annual telephone campaign, including working with consultants, preparing data, drafting letters, recruiting students, training and call-room management.
- Organise mass and tailored annual appeals (both digital and postal) to members.
- Achieve annual targets for increasing the percentage and number of members and friends who give, set in collaboration with the Head of Development.
- Move prospects through the gift cycle and up the giving ladder in a timely manner.
- Identify and refer regular or longstanding donors with potentially greater capacity to other fundraisers as appropriate.
Communications
- Contact donors whose pledges are due to expire to encourage renewals and upgrades.
- Prepare thank you letters ensuring that donors to the regular giving programme are thanked promptly and appropriately.
- Confidently engage with the college community – including students and Fellows – to gain an understanding of the need for philanthropic support.
- Write compelling fundraising copy for mass appeals.
- Work with the Engagement Manager to contribute to the production of stewardship materials.
Analysis and Innovation
- Analyse the performance and effectiveness of solicitations and mailings, identifying trends, testing solutions, sourcing additional related information where appropriate.
- Analyse sector benchmarking data to provide strategic insight into the comparative performance of the College’s regular giving programme.
- Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities and, where appropriate, implement these best practices.
- Research and identify new opportunities, thinking creatively to develop unique appeals.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the Collegiate University, attending working groups, training opportunities and the annual development conference where appropriate.
General Administration
- Ensure that data is recorded accurately and concisely on the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in the maintenance of personal and financial records and ensure compliance at all times with Data Protection legislation.
- Have expert knowledge and understanding of current legislation impacting upon regular giving and stewardship, marketing and operations, such as gift aid, General Data Protection Regulations and fundraising regulation, and ensure operational compliance.
- Represent and promote the Development Office within college and externally, attending occasional member events where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Development team and across the college in delivering the overall Development Strategy.
