Fundraising income has grown significantly over the last few years thanks to a talented staff team, and we have an ambitious strategy to grow this income even further.
Working with agencies, including a digital mobilisation agency, The Senior Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for leading growing our individual donor and supporter base and delivering an excellent supporter experience.

Senior Development Officer (Fundraising)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role:The Senior Development Officer plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.
This position provides a full-time, permanent contract with hybrid working hours, consisting of a 35-hour week. The role allows for hybrid work, including remote work from home, with one day per month at our head office in London.
Principle Responsibilities:
- To work closely with the Head of Development to research and identify new opportunities.
- Develop, prepare, and submit high quality funding applications, acting as bid writing SME.
- Peer Review support to mentor other team members.
- Work with Head of Development to increase the accuracy of our Salesforce data, resulting in data dashboards suitable to the reporting needs of our funders.
- Collaborate with Development and Senior F&R Officer to implement a team strategy and support a lean process of reporting.
- Work with Senior Finance & Reporting Officer to report impact to our funders in line in the funding requirements.
- To work closely with Head of Development to develop and implement our fundraising strategy.
- Represent the organisation at research based events, developing our understanding and enhancing our delivery.
- Identify new opportunities and working with the team to covert these to applications and funding.
- Lead on individual Giving Strategy, working with Head of Development and Development Officer to expand opportunities.
- Any other relevant duties at the discretion of management.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong rapport with clients and community groups to ensure effective implementation of our strategy, supporting the team responsible for project delivery.
- Identify and secure new funding opportunities with clients, creating tailored proposals to appeal to funder appetite and needs.
- Oversee and contribute to external communications and marketing campaigns.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- 4-5 years in a business development, sales or client facing role.
- Proven business development expertise with a track record of winning new business and able to apply these skills to enhance our business development strategies.

- A solid understanding of the philanthropic and grant-making sectors in order to enrich our strategies and client interactions.

Prospectus are excited to be working exclusively with Action Syria to help them recruit for their first Head of Development. Action Syria (formerly Hands Up Foundation) is a small and innovative charity that funds health and education programmes in Syria and neighbouring countries. Hands Up Foundation was founded in 2012 and has raised millions for humanitarian aid in Syria and surrounding countries. To mark their commitment to helping Syrian people affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disaster, they changed their name from Hands Up Foundation to Action Syria in 2024.
This role is offered on a flexible permanent contract basis paying a salary between £40,000 to £50,000 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their Office in Shoreditch.
This newly created role will be part of the senior leadership team and lead the fundraising function at Action Syria. The post holder will work with the CEO and team to deliver their ambitious fundraising goals over the next three years with an aim to increase annual income to £1 million. They will also aim to expand and diversify their supporter base with emphasis on attracting new audiences and networks; gaining more multi-year grants from Trusts, Foundations and major donors; building regular giving; joint fundraising partnerships (e.g. commercial partnerships); and building on current relationships with peer organizations which have a particular interest in Syria.

They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of securing six figure funds from multiple sources and confident of working at a senior level externally. About the role
This is an exciting new post in the Communications Team at Glass Door. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role will support the delivery of a new paid & organic digital marketing strategy, working closely & collaboratively with both the Comms & Fundraising Teams, as well as co-lead on the delivery of a new website.

What you will do as part of our team
Marketing:

About this key role
Our successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior management to contribute to the implementation of the new income generation strategy – focusing specifically on retention and developing our unrestricted voluntary income from a range of funding streams. You will diversify and improve the ways in which we generate unrestricted income from individual giving through proactive, innovative ideas, plus develop and design high-quality appeals, presentations and pitches to garner wider national support and brand awareness for St Giles.
We will rely on you to provide excellent stewardship to existing donors, including writing reports, planning and hosting visits for key stakeholders that inspire them to continue to support St Giles, while also providing support to the Head of Voluntary Fundraising & Fundraising Manager with reports, due diligence procedures and applications where necessary. Organising a small number of fundraising events per year and providing line management, supervision and coaching to a Fundraising Assistant is also a key element of this role.
