Job description

At a glance:

  • Lead and shape NAPAC’s learning offer, setting the strategic direction for quality, content, and future development.
  • Bring depth as well as delivery, combining strong learning leadership with clinical, therapeutic, psychological, or equivalent trauma-related expertise.
  • Design excellent learning content, including bespoke training, webinars, online learning, consultancy products, and practical resources.
  • Set the standard for training quality, delivering key sessions yourself while coaching and quality assuring external trainers and associates.
  • Turn survivor insight into practical professional learning, helping organisations improve responses to adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect.

NAPAC is looking for a new Head of Learning and Training to lead the next phase of our learning and training function. It is an exciting opportunity to shape and strengthen an important area of NAPAC’s work at a pivotal moment.

This is a senior role for someone who can combine strategic leadership with real credibility in content creation, facilitation and trauma-informed practice. We are looking for a person who can lead the development of high-quality training and consultancy products, deliver engaging sessions themselves, and set the standard for others across a blended model of internal expertise and external trainers.

A psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, mental health, clinical or equivalent trauma-related background would be highly desirable.

The role requires strong learning and development leadership, intellectual curiosity, excellent stakeholder skills, and the ability to translate complex material into clear, engaging and professionally credible learning.

Benefits include: 25 days annual leave, contributory pension scheme with 5% employer contribution subject to a minimum 3% employee contribution, and HSF health plan.
