About Pancreatic Cancer Action:
Pancreatic Cancer Action (PCA) was founded in 2010 by a rare survivor of the disease. We are a small, creative and passionate team committed to improving early diagnosis and saving lives. In August 2020, Pancreatic Cancer Action merged with Pancreatic Cancer Scotland making our team stronger than ever.
Pancreatic cancer has only a 7% survival rate and this figure has not improved significantly for over 50 years. Despite it being the 5th biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives only 3% of overall research funding.
With a strong focus on early diagnosis, it is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s aim to improve survival rates through raising awareness, medical education, improved patient information and by funding research specifically into the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Simply put, we want more people diagnosed in time for surgery, currently the only potential for a cure.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and grow the annual programme of fundraising events such as the London Marathon and Great North Run.
- Grow and steward a pipeline of new and existing community and events audiences and fundraising opportunities with a particular focus on England. Ensuring to always maintain the highest quality supporter journey.
- Manage the delivery of the virtual challenge events. Add insight and support the annual Pancreatic Awareness Month Campaign and help to further develop Pyjama’s for Pan Can to new audiences.
- As a senior member of the Income Generation Team you will contribute to robust financial planning, management and reporting of income and expenditure in your own areas of expertise.
- Responsible for the delivery and recruitment into PCA’s Challenge Events programme making sure participants receive exceptional supporter care.
- Develop compelling and engaging third party fundraising materials to inspire supporters to reach their maximum fundraising targets.
- Contribute to the development of automated and integrated supporter journey and engagement plans with the support of the Head of Income Generation to ensure a consistent and efficient supporter experience.
- Seek out engagement opportunities to support donor acquisition and retention utilising new and existing channels and platforms.
- You will be an excellent relationship manager who can maintain accurate records on our CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure that we develop, engage and update our supporters.
- Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Communications, to create engaging products and community and event campaigns. Updating the fundraising section of the PCA website and other third party platforms with compelling content and seamless user journeys.
- Be competent at data inputting, IT literate and very organised. Empathy and excellent communication skills are vital in this role and the candidate must be able to collaborate and work well as part of a team.
- Attending when necessary, external events, conferences and exhibitions across the UK and being the face of Pancreatic Cancer Action, acknowledging that some of these may involve overnight stays and weekends.
Income and targets
- Help to grow Pancreatic Cancer Action’s income from community and challenge event fundraisers.
- Develop ongoing stewardship journey for Community/DIY Fundraisers and increase average gift though exceptional supporter care.
- Achieve Financial and non-financial targets and KPI’s from corporate and community fundraising as agreed with the Head of Income Generation.
- Monitor and control allocated fundraising budgets and regularly update the Head of Income Generation.
- Prepare and monitor reporting for all online fundraising platforms to fit with our accounting systems reporting this to the Head of Income Generation monthly.
- Contribute to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s fundraising strategy.

Summary of the role:

About the Role:

This is a newly created role working within our Fundraising & Communication Dept.
Role summary
Working within our fundraising and communications team, you will support the management of our communications portfolio of work. Maintaining our consistent brand, you will lead on digital and print asset development. You will lead on supporter communications, assisting the rest of the team to raise the profile and bring new supporters into the organisation. You will manage our social channels, website content and newsletter, and developing creative assets and materials for our external work both in the UK and the US.

8. Support Able Child Africa’s individual giving programme, assisting with donor communications, building relationships with donors and growing our income.
9. Support community fundraising activities, empowering existing and newly sourced supporters, (including schools, universities and other members of the public) to independently generate funds for Able Child Africa through independent events and activities.
Provide other support to the Fundraising and Communications and wider operational teams as agreed, including supporting routine office operations.
10. Maintain our Salesforce database, keeping detailed records of communications, support and donations from individuals and organisations.
11. Support our advocacy objectives, working with the Advocacy team to produce high quality and consistent messaging for use within the international development sector.
12. Support the delivery of unique and ongoing operational activities as required for the effective running of the organisation.

Experience
1. At least one years’ experience in a fundraising or communications support role.
2. Experience of managing or supporting the management of events to, ideally including managing volunteers or supporters to raise funds.
3. Experience or knowledge of managing individual donors with demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders (including public, media and donors) to advance a cause.
Skills and Technical Competencies
4. Creative ability to assist in the production of engaging content for communication in line with the organisational brand and mission.

WCRFI is responsible for the Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global) which is our global cancer prevention and survival programme focussing on the links between diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer. We are seeking a Head of Research Interpretation who will be responsible for managing the delivery of CUP Global. You will chair the CUP Global Secretariat and also provide support to the Assistant Director of Research and Policy and the Director of Research, Policy and Innovation in the oversight and strategic direction of the programme of work. You will also contribute to other projects such as ensuring that the WCRF network has the latest global cancer statistics, including new estimates of the preventability of cancer.
You will be educated to PhD level, with ideally at least 2 years postdoctoral experience in a research environment, in a relevant area (e.g. nutrition, cancer, epidemiology, public health). You will have a good understanding of public health and epidemiology, nutrition and/or cancer and have experience of conducting and/or interpreting systematic reviews. Job Title: Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement
Reports To: Associate Director: Partnerships
Salary: £40,000- £44,000 FTE (pro-rata based on hours) depending on experience

Requirements
We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

The main purpose of this role is to grow the venue hire pipeline of business and deliver venue hire events and specialist group events to excellent standards ensuring repeat business and maximising new sales opportunities. Venue Hire Sales & Marketing:
- To deal with all venue sales enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- To build and maintain an effective pipeline of venue hire enquiries. Including attending venue hire showcases and B2B networking events as necessary.
- Professional and friendly manner, confident in delivering and leading on showrounds to prospective clients.
- To produce venue hire literature and ensure that all material relating to the venue facilities is kept up to date.
- To meet venue hire sales targets for 2024 as set by the Society and build effective sales pipelines for 2025.
- Liaise with Marketing Teams to produce bespoke posts and newsletters for members, venue hire leads and special offers for venue hire throughout the year, maximising engagement.

Venue Hire Administration:
- To maintain safe working practices in conjunction with Health & Safety policies.
- Work collaboratively with Buildings Manager to communicate key information taking place across Burlington House.
- To liaise with AV company with regards to timings, payments, staff needs, training and use of equipment / set up for events.
- To liaise with caterers with regards to timings, payments, staff attending, training and room set up for events.
- To produce a weekly booking sheet for all staff to communicate bookings across the building.

- Manage the venue hire diary, ensuring it is kept up to date and all bookings are accurately recorded.

Event Operations:
- To deliver all venue hire and specialist group events to excellent standards.
- To liaise with speakers and venue hire delegates and communicate all logistical details in a timely fashion including H&S briefings, PEEP plans and Risk Assessments.
- To make any other logistical arrangements that are necessary for the smooth running of events covering timings, parking, room set-ups etc.

• Reconcile project budgets and cashflow to our accounting system monthly, in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
Comms & Marketing
• Work to maintain the profile of ICA and our projects.
• Work with the Communications Team to plan and deliver communication and participant recruitment campaigns and implement appropriate strategic marketing for each project.
• Arrange photography and video documentation as necessary.
• Write copy in line with ICA guidelines to promote programme
General Administration
• Ensure all day-to-day project administration is carried out efficiently and appropriately.
• Maintain that all project activity and outcomes are carried out in line with ICA’s policies and procedures, including and not limited to insurance, liability, health & safety, safeguarding, privacy & data protection, access, equity, diversity, inclusion, safer spaces, and anti-racism.
