JOB PURPOSE
We’re looking for a proactive, inclusive and insightful HR generalist to manage the day-to-day People advisory and operational support across our medium sized charity, while contributing to a range of forward-thinking HR projects that align our processes, policies and practice with our strategic goals. As our Senior People Advisor, you’ll work closely with our Director of People and partner daily with our managers and staff to build confidence in our People systems and strengthen understanding of good practice. With a passion for building inclusive cultures, wellbeing and employee experience, you’ll be an empathetic relationship builder who brings strong problem-solving skills, sound HR knowledge and a data informed, test and learn approach. You’ll be comfortable being hands on and working with a varied portfolio of activity. Your insights will help shape a safe, inclusive, healthy and agile culture, support organisational learning and development, and drive continuous improvement across our People function.

Role Responsibilities
- Manage and/or advise on employee relations work with a resolution-focused approach to disputes, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, change management processes.
- Responsible for overseeing our current HRIS system, ensuring it is used effectively, information is up to date and compliant, and more widely ensuring all HR data is sufficiently protected and compliant with GDPR in all systems and processes
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with a range of our People-related suppliers
- Produce and use People data to analyse trends and help make decisions. To include producing dashboards for managers, leadership where required.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of key activities in the HR calendar such as Employee Engagement surveys, the organisation appraisal process, and associated Internal Communications within the organisation
- Develop and evaluate the confidence and capability of managers and staff in our People practices, and systems
- Develop, update and communicate our People policies and procedures, in line with organisational strategy, best practice and employment legislation.
- Ensure our People practices have safety, diversity, equity and inclusion at their core and play a key role in championing the delivery of our ED&I roadmap.
- Provide first line advice on our Total Reward offer to managers and staff and liaise with benefits suppliers to help us continually evolve our Employee Value Proposition.
- Support managers in inclusive recruitment processes, ensuring compliance, best practice and use of appropriate metrics to continually inform our recruitment strategy.
- Use and update reward benchmarking in line with our reward policy
- Design and deliver wellbeing related initiatives
- Work with and contribute to the evolution of competency frameworks and development pathways and advise staff and managers around these.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent proven generalist HR experience
- Advising and leading confidently on a range of HR policies, UK employment law and best practice
- Design and delivery of inclusive HR processes and improvements
- Experienced in developing and supporting managers and staff through change
- Experienced in advising managers and staff around learning and development
- Scoping, managing and overseeing delivery of a varied range of HR projects to enhance efficiency and the employee experience.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of UK employment and relevant GDPR legislation and its application
- Skilled in using HRIS systems and using them for reporting and streamlining processes
- Strong Excel skills, and skilled in Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint
- Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends and make informed recommendations
- Understanding of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion considerations and best practice
- Knowledge and experience of using Reward data and benchmarking tools
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and practice

This is a great opportunity for an experienced team leader and high value fundraiser to join at a pivotal moment. Reporting into the Director of Income Generation, the Head of Major Giving will lead a passionate and well-established team spanning Philanthropy, Trusts & Foundations, Strategic Partnerships and Events. With 12 people in the team and five direct reports, you'll set direction, inspire high performance and play a key role in championing a culture of philanthropy and partnerships across the organisation.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering the Major Giving strategy, driving significant income growth and pipeline development. ABOUT THE ROLE
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (including some evening and weekend working, and regular on-call)

Main purpose of the role
The Community Leader is responsible for ensuring that the Community is living the mission of L’Arche, by providing excellent and sustainable care and support services, support for spirituality, and engaging with our neighbours and the wider community around us.
The Community Leader will:
- Lead the Community by responding to the needs, choices and context of our members while being faithful to the L'Arche UK Vision and Values, the L'Arche International Identity and Mission Statement, and to a co-created Community Mandate and plan;
- Maintain and enhance high-quality, person-centred care, support, and housing for people with learning disabilities, both at home and in our day services in partnership with the Registered Manager, the local and national teams, individual circles of support, and external partners.
- Ensure the Community’s financial sustainability through robust financial planning and management. This includes setting budgets and controlling spending, maximising housing occupancy, supporting the negotiation of care contracts, growing our day services and spotting fundraising opportunities.
- Foster a culture that maximises the voice and power for people with learning disabilities, and builds listening and collaboration between Community members. This will include working with an active Community Support Group, Community Gatherings, listening groups, and other forums.
- Lead and manage a committed and engaged leadership team to achieve objectives, set a positive culture, and support the personal and professional growth of our teams.
- Cultivate an open, creative, and inclusive spiritual life, inviting everyone in the Community to deepen their connections.
- Model, advocate for, and embrace the L’Arche ethos of deep, long-term, and mutually transforming relationships between people with and without learning disabilities. Plan and lead a regular calendar of events that build community belonging and help keep people connected.
- Contribute to the national work programmes of L’Arche UK, as part of the National Council, collaborating with Community Leaders of other L’Arche Communities, to share skills, best practice and resources.
- Be a visible representative of L’Arche locally in the wider community, with stakeholders like local authorities, professional organisations, schools, faith communities, and L’Arche world wide.
Key essential criteria
- Senior leadership experience in support to adults with learning disabilities (or transferable skills and experience in a closely-related field).
- Experience leading and managing an organisation or large teams to deliver results, maintain compliance and quality, and to respond to risks and opportunities.
- Experience leading and developing diverse teams to flourish, individually and together.
- Good financial planning skills and experience successfully managing a substantial budget.
- Evidence of the ability to think strategically, and work collaboratively to develop and implement community plans.
- Experience of living or working alongside people with learning disabilities and/or autistic individuals

The role
We have developed a Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) Framework blueprint that sets out our future vision for how projects and programmes will be governed, prioritised and delivered.
The Interim Head of PMO will work with the Interim Chief Operating Officer to establish a Portfolio and Project Management Office (PMO) across the organisation. Using the agreed PPM Framework, the postholder will develop the initial portfolio of projects and programmes and support all staff across the Foundation in the adoption of progamme management methodology.
The role will support prioritisation, decision-making and infrastructure support while developing clear, insightful portfolio-level reporting and dashboards. It will also lead and develop high-performing teams, embedding systems and culture change to help move the organisation towards greater portfolio, programme and project maturity and impact. The person
The successful candidate will be an accomplished Senior PPM professional with a proven track record in complex organisational change environments. They will bring strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, will be confident challenging constructively, and comfortable operating at senior leadership and board level. They will combine excellent analytical capability with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and will be a people-focused leader with a strong commitment to development and inclusion. Purpose of the job

The postholder requires operational experience and knowledge at catchment scale as well as project and people management experience. They will take a strategic overview of the programme and guide our growth in the thematical and geographical area, with a particular focus on the following outcomes.
- Work with 20 farmers each year to reduce diffuse pollution at source and flood risk.
- Offer advice on nature-based solutions and grant funding to farmers and landowners.
- Plant 30,000 trees annually.
- Input and support the achievement of other applicable 5-year plan targets. i.e. River restoration and catchment scale monitoring.
- Increase Thames21 presence in the Thames Valley, identifying opportunities, supporting, and complimenting the work of other NGOs and regional Rivers Trusts.
The role is a relatively new area of work for Thames21 and may consist of supporting a range of projects and programmes including Catchment Partnerships, Farm Clusters and Natural Flood Management.
Finally, the postholder will take a lead in progressing Thames21’s resilience strategy i.e. working closely with the Fundraising Team, the Catchment Partnership Team, and partner organisations to increase private and public investment to deliver healthy resilient rivers and catchments.
Additional requirements may include supporting other Thames21 projects and funding applications, as the need arises.
