Duties and key responsibilities
Security Strategy & Risk Management:
•Develop and implement security strategies and operational guidelines for all field operations in high-risk areas.
•Conduct regular security assessments and threat analyses of operational environments and adjust strategies as needed.
•Provide recommendations to senior management on mitigation measures for identified security risks.
•Design and update security plans, contingency plans, and emergency evacuation protocols.
Staff Safety:
•Establish a strong safety culture for all staff, including expatriates/international volunteers and national personnel.

Security Operations:

•Oversee management of local security staff (security guards, drivers, etc.) and ensure they are adequately trained and equipped.
•Coordinate with local authorities and other agencies on safety and security matters.
•Ensure the security of the agency’s assets, including sensitive information and equipment.
Security Incident Management & Reporting:
•Lead the response to any security incidents, including incidents of violence, natural disasters, or other emergencies.
•Provide detailed reports on security incidents, outlining lessons learned and recommended changes to existing procedures.
•Ensure that all incidents are documented and managed according to internal reporting procedures.
Security Coordination:
•Liaise with humanitarian partners, UN agencies, government authorities, and NGOs to coordinate security efforts and share relevant information.
•Represent the organisation in security forums and working groups to enhance coordination and information sharing.
Training and Capacity Building:
•Develop and implement security training programs for MAP staff, volunteers and partners, ensuring all are equipped with the necessary knowledge to operate safely in high-risk areas.
•Conduct safety and security awareness workshops, simulations, and scenario-based exercises for staff.
•Monitor staff adherence to security procedures and provide guidance when needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
•Ensure the organisation’s compliance with local laws and regulations related to safety and security.
•Monitor and report on security and safety trends, making recommendations to senior management on actions to mitigate emerging risks.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in risk, disaster or security or emergency management or a related field
•Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in security management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a humanitarian, development, or conflict-related environment.
•Proven experience in managing complex security operations in high-risk settings.
•Experience in designing and delivering security training programs for diverse staff groups.
•Experience with emergency response, crisis management, and evacuation procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
•Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and complex situations.

To lead an ambitious and dynamic fundraising team of twelve. to drive increased
fundraising performance across a range of income streams. The post holder will lead

Leadership
• Champion fundraising across the organisation.

Ensure that fundraising is supported by appropriate business/activity plans,

and delivers the highest standard of supporter care and donor stewardship.
• Lead the fundraising team to focus on deepening and strengthening existing
relationships and building a strong pipeline of new prospects to deliver multiyear

• Champion the adoption and use of Raisers Edge NXT CRM to effectively
support data-driven decision making and relationship management to
generate supporter insights in support of increased fundraising.
Brand and Marketing

marketing and communications strategy that is driven by audience insight.

The Head of Program reports to and works closely with the Country Director to provide strategic program direction for DRC’s ALT (Algeria, Libya and Tunisia) response in a manner that is accountable to the communities we work with. The HoP is expected to contribute to the quality assurance of program implementation across the project development and implementation cycle. The position ensures that DRC’s projects significantly contribute to meeting immediate humanitarian needs, transitioning from relief to longer-term rebuilding and recovery. The HoP is a key senior position in the DRC country set up, responsible for cross-cutting programmatic information management, sound design of and overseeing assessments, monitoring and evaluation, and ensuring that information collected is reflected upon, used to improve ongoing projects, and is incorporated into consistently high-quality grant proposals and reports. S/he plays a crucial role in strategy development and adherence and ensuring that policies, systems, and people are continuously and accurately working in a coordinated manner to ensure that a coherent and comprehensive program is designed and implemented. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Programming Strategy & Development
- Constant in-depth analysis of humanitarian context, trends, gaps, challenges and opportunities
- Participate in country level strategic planning, lead the annual review process and contribute to the sustainable management of program with a continual eye to new program development that addresses displacements and meets the needs of beneficiaries
- As a key pillar of the overall country strategy, develop/define the country programming strategy designing process in a collaborative way in order to ensure program appropriateness and accountability among the country program team.
- Write/Review and monitor the Program Strategy document based upon a clear needs/evidence driven approach, DRC’s core expertise and a large stakeholders analysis
- Foster synergies between program areas and promotes an integrated approach
- Support the strong integration of protection throughout all humanitarian initiatives and ensure adherence to Sphere standards or any other international standards when relevant
- Support the integration of gender mainstreaming across all programs
- Facilitate assessment and rapid response in any humanitarian situation, with written report and recommendation to initiate and setup relevant emergency projects if a response is decided on
- Keep abreast and engage with the Durable Solutions Architecture and ensure DRC is well represented in these fora.
- Advocate about DRC’s program with government, donors, and humanitarian stakeholders, in cluster meetings, workshops, conferences and in other relevant form
Program Implementation & Coordination
- Provide oversight, guidance and leadership to all aspects of program development and implementation, including ensuring timely reporting, compliance and quality utilizing routine monitoring and feedback into program implementation
- Ensure effective and transparent budget follow up, planning and use of financial resources in compliance with DRC and donor policies and priorities
- Develop a close and productive working relationship with Area Offices to ensure that all aspects of programs are implemented to maximum affect and compliant with DRC and donor regulations.
- Ensure grant Kick Off and Close Out meetings are systematically taking place
- Ensure regular grant review meetings are taking place and red flags are discussed and actioned upon
- Effectively stay abreast of donor policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Program Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning
- Ensure the implementation of effective and participatory program Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning strategies at all levels of the DRC’s program in country
- Ensure that all projects contribute to measuring impact and are in line with DRC’s country strategic plan
- Ensure quality programming by coordinating the technical support provided by the Regional Office and HQ, by developing M&E tools and indicators and other quality improvement initiatives
- Adopt an evidence-based approach that see the dissemination of lessons learned and best practices within DRC country and Region teams, to donors and to other stakeholders when relevant in order ensure synergetic programming and cross-program collaboration in ALT and in the whole region
- Supervise monitoring and evaluation of the operations to ensure the overall implementation is in accordance with agreed work plans, donor agreements and humanitarian accountability framework
- Ensure Information Management is embedded with DRC program and data are managed in a confidential manner
Fundraising, Grant proposals writing & reporting processes
- Ensure up to date donor mapping and pursue funding opportunities in all DRC competence areas, and coordinate the capacities of the program managers and SMT to identify and materialize opportunities
- Lead in the design of programs to input into potential proposals.
- Review final reports and authorize on proposals to be submitted to external donors and HQ
Program staff Management and Capacity Building
- Effectively manage the program team in the coordination office in Tunis: Project Development and Quality Manager, Protection Manager, Humanitarian Mine Action Operation, ECREC Manager, Partnership Coordinator and the Program Trainee
- Ongoing development of team composition and structure to ensure that is fit for purpose, develop Job descriptions/Terms of Reference, follow up program staff related recruitment processes and orientation of staff. Proactively seek to increase the numbers of national staff members in the Programs team.
- When needed, draft and/or review scopes of work to hire and manage technical consultants, including review for technical efficacy and contract budget
- Development of overall staff competence through leadership, training and coaching of technical and management key program staff
- Conduct annual staff performance reviews
Donor liaison, Partnerships and Representation
- Represent DRC’s program to funders and potential donors
- Cultivate key relationships that enhance DRC’s visibility, credibility in ALT
- Frequent travel for direct support to field sites, representation and identification of opportunities for organizational growth in the competence areas profit, independent, rights-based refugee organization.
- Review and oversee implementation of the CSO partnership strategy and promote localization agenda within DRC.
- Identify local NGOs/partners and develop partnership with relevant and complementary partners.
Other
- In close collaboration with the broader Senior Management Team, lead by example to ensure continual progress towards DRC’s Age, Gender, and Diversity policy and AGD programmatic minimum standards, and promote compliance with DRC’s commitment to zero-tolerance to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse policy.

About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to at least 5 years' experience in relevant field. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- Minimum 7-8 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, leadership, and design in countries of conflict or post-conflict, including working on protection and mine action programmes.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in managing emergency operations, including 2 years at senior management level and at least 2 years in the Middle East/North Africa.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in proposal development, budget development, program implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Master’s degree in International Development and/or Humanitarian Assistance, Project Management, or any other related field
- Demonstrated experience in managing migration programmes and cross-border programming.
- Proven experience in effectively coordinating with National Governments, International and National NGO partners and a variety of working with and coordinating with a variety of donors including SDC, ECHO, DANIDA, UN agencies, EU FPI and DG.
- Demonstrated commitment to apply an age, gender and diversity (AGD) and Conflict Sensitive approach to programming.

Our funding is intended to complement the work of other country portfolios: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
As one of four Heads of Funding in UK Portfolio you will oversee all aspects of our work and ensure the team is resourced and able to deliver operationally. Heads of Funding are responsible for ensuring our programmes are designed and delivered to the scope, standard and deadlines required and will lead on specific strategic areas and relationships inside and outside the Fund. Heads of Funding are responsible for ensuring an understanding of the external policy, practice and funding context from across the UK is reflected in our delivery. You will provide leadership for the team, supporting the work of the Portfolio Managers.

About the Role

The Learning and Skills Development Co-Ordinator will lead on developing a program of training, learning, volunteering and work experience for the residents of Homeless Oxfordshire that increase self esteem, engagement and motivation. LEAP is built on the foundation of strong, supportive relationships that empower residents to move towards stable, independent living. Through one-to-one key worker support, trauma-informed care, and community engagement, residents rebuild trust, form friendships, and gain confidence. Activities like gardening, arts and crafts, and creative writing foster connection and personal growth, while group involvement helps residents feel part of a wider community. LEAP also supports residents to take steps into peer mentoring, volunteering, and training, helping them build positive networks beyond their immediate circle and develop the skills and confidence to thrive independently.
At LEAP, community involvement is at the heart of their work. Empowering residents through co-production is a key organisational goal. LEAP offer a range of inclusive engagement methods—from informal gatherings like group breakfasts and creative activities, to structured sessions such as support needs mapping and Residents’ Forums. These forums provide regular opportunities for feedback and co-design, with input reaching senior management and trustees. LEAP empowers people with lived experience of homelessness and/or addiction, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to move towards independent living and employment. Over three years, the project aims to support 750 individuals. Through a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities, residents will experience positive outcomes such as increased confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of inclusion. They will build supportive networks, learn key life skills and access training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. Many will gain qualifications and secure long-term accommodation. The project strengthens peer support and enables residents to shape services through formalised Residents’ Forums, ensuring their voices influence senior decision-making. For Homeless Oxfordshire, LEAP enhances our capacity to deliver peer-led support, builds staff knowledge, and informs service improvement. Wider community benefits include reduced stigma around homelessness, stronger partnerships with employers and organisations, and improved understanding of the issues faced by our residents—ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society.

We are seeking a dynamic fundraiser to join our ambitious and supportive team as our Head of Philanthropy. Northern Ballet is at an exciting point in our organisational journey and you will inherit a successful philanthropy programme, with a broad, engaged and growing portfolio of donors, which receives effective and valuable support from our Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
As Head of Philanthropy, you will be an experienced manager and fundraiser, confident in securing and stewarding donors. You will devise and implement a comprehensive strategy to build income from individuals across our full suite of giving schemes. You will personally scope, secure and steward new major gifts from individuals, support your line report and manage your own portfolio of current and prospective donors.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a philanthropy strategy across all levels of individual giving, to support future growth targets and deliver budgeted annual income targets.
- Be responsible for the growth, development and management of the Benefactor programme.
- Research, build and steward a pipeline of high-value prospects and to drive new activity to secure four to six figure gifts.
- Personally manage a portfolio of key relationships, developing robust supporter engagement plans to maximise opportunities for support. Meet with and cultivate new prospects and establish long-term, respectful, tailored relationships.
- Manage and support the Philanthropy Executive in stewarding donor relationships, supporting the post holder’s ongoing development and working together to grow lower level giving as part of the overall individual giving strategy.
- Support and work in partnership with the Philanthropy Executive to plan and deliver the annual appeal.
- Work closely with the Events & Partnership Executive to create and deliver bespoke events to grow engagement with the Company and generate additional income.
- Work with the Events & Partnership Executive and Director of Development, to support the sponsorship programme, overseeing relationships with corporate sponsors to ensure that activities meet the needs of the client and maximise the potential for future giving.
- Work with the Director of Development to grow and promote legacy giving to the organisation.
- Work with teams across the organisation to develop opportunities for support, to foster open information sharing and ensure donor opportunities, acknowledgments and experiences are delivered.
- Monitor fundraising performance and budgets and provide timely reports and analysis to the Director of Development.
- Ensure income is tracked and progressed through phased budgets, prospect pipelines and moves management processes, supported by the CRM database.
- Contribute to the overall fundraising success of the Development Team, supporting opportunities for collaboration and championing a supportive, high-performing culture.
- Ensure that all activities comply with current GDPR legislation, codes of practice and ethical guidelines.
Additional criteria
- The role requires the post holder to work some evenings both in Leeds and in touring venues across the UK.
Key deliverables
By the end of the first year the successful candidate will have:
- Received an induction, training and development programme including opportunities to engage with the backstage, technical and artistic areas of the organisation
- Have become a highly valued and trusted member of the Development team, with a confident understanding of the Company, it’s work and donor base
- Drafted and made significant inroads in delivering an individual giving strategy for the Company
- Effectively stewarded and grown a portfolio of major donors, with whom you will have developed strong relationships
- Researched and cultivated new leads and have developed supporter engagement plans for existing supporters
- Have developed an effective and supportive working relationship with your direct line report
- Worked in collaboration with colleagues to grow the pipeline of new prospects and developed compelling projects and opportunities attractive to donors
- Worked to agreed KPI’s, targets and reporting schedules
What we’re looking for:
- Experience building and stewarding strong relationships with supporters, with demonstrable success in working to targets and securing significant gifts
- A warm, engaging and tactful communication style, comfortable interacting with supporters, Trustees and colleagues
- A self-motivated and tenacious fundraiser
- A strategic thinker, skilled in written and verbal communication
- Experience in using fundraising CRM software, ideally Spektrix
- Highly organised and able to effectively manage competing priorities, with excellent attention to detail
- A collaborative style of working, with experience of supporting and motivating staff and working to a shared goal
- A willingness to work out of regular hours and to travel
- Enthusiasm for and commitment to Northern Ballet’s work and values
