The Role
This is a new role which will be focused on a specific project to initially set up and support our member led Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) task group and subgroups. These task groups, with your support, will lead the direction that our EDI membership initiatives take. One of the primary core initiatives will be the delivery of a mentoring scheme for our members with an inclusivity focus.
To be shortlisted for this post, you must have:
• Excellent Project Management skills and experience
• Demonstratable knowledge of the EDI space, leading practises and ideologies
• Previous experience of working with members/volunteers including in an advisory and secretariat capacity.
• An understanding of and preferably experience of managing mentoring schemes.
Experience of working in a membership organisation or knowledge of the engineering profession would be advantageous.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that purchasing administration from point of order through to payment is administered in line with agreed Service Levels
- Ensuring Suppliers are informed and up to date with payments, striving to ensure positive supplier engagement as a baseline to securing favourable terms

Position: Training and Education Lead: Parental Cover (8 months)

About the role:
This role is for an events person who can support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. There is an agreed schedule for the rest of 2024 for our public (open) training plus some bespoke, in-house training to be agreed upon with clients. There will also be additional in-house training to be secured for the remainder of 2024 and the first part of 2025.
The role holder will work within our professional development team, headed up by the director of professional development. They will report directly to the director and work alongside other team members to deliver an effective apprenticeship programme.
Our working pattern is hybrid, with attendance in the office expected for three days per week, including every Wednesday. You may also be expected to attend events across the UK and overseas.

- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to meet the agreed requirements and budget, liaising with the DPD as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need experience managing events (face to face and hybrid) including liaising with speakers and managing the technology. You will be able to work with colleagues to identify and contact potential speakers. You will also be able to manage the budget for the course delivery. About this role
The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.
They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.
Contract and location
The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. Role Requirements
As part of the site services team the role holder will be expected to liaise with managers and staff across the Trust. The role holder is expected to work closely with the other members of the facilities team and assist in covering in the laundry, in the deep clean team or other works as and when required.
You will be a natural and enthusiastic housekeeper working not only as part of a team but also individually. You will be health and safety aware, take ownership of your own work, and be understanding of the children’s needs here at The Children’s Trust. Good organisational skills, flexibility and being friendly and caring in nature are a must for this role. As the Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer, you will be responsible for maximising income from Trusts and Foundations in order to support SHP’s charitable activities. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and alongside the fundraising team, you will contribute towards the delivery of achieving SHP's overarching vision of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life.
In your role, you will be responsible for building and delivering a successful Trusts and Foundations portfolio by focusing on:
- Maximising income from grant-giving organisations to ensure sustainable growth of restricted and unrestricted fundraising.
- Working strategically to build high-impact, high-value relationships with grant funders as well as managing relationships with existing donors.
