Responsibilities and Person Specification:

As Head of Services Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Independent Age’s services and maximising our impact for older people facing financial hardship. Reporting to the Director of Services, you will lead service development, innovation, quality, evaluation and strategic change across our service provision (information, advice and external training) ensuring they remain effective, evidence-led and responsive to changing needs. Working closely with colleagues across the charity and external partners, you will translate strategy into practical improvements, develop new opportunities for impact and collaboration, and embed a culture of continuous learning, improvement and innovation.

We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with experience of leading complex projects, organisational change and service improvement programmes. 

You will be skilled at turning strategy into delivery, bringing together people from different teams and disciplines to develop practical solutions that improve outcomes. You will be comfortable using data, insight and evidence to drive decision-making and have a track record of stakeholder engagement and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth. 

You will also bring experience of impact measurement, evaluation, quality assurance or performance frameworks, with the ability to use evidence to demonstrate value and improve services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and work across organisational boundaries. An understanding of the needs of older people, the wider ageing sector and the role that data, learning and collaboration play in delivering social impact would be advantageous.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of the finance function for CPA UK. Role Purpose

The Head of Commercial Income is a senior leadership role and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

The postholder will lead the Charity's commercial income function, with responsibility for growing sustainable income through commissioned and commercial services, training, Ask Jan membership and other opportunities.

This is a strategic, commercially focused and hands-on role. The postholder will be a visible face of the Charity, building strong relationships with local authorities, commissioners, public sector organisations, businesses and other partners. They will identify opportunities, understand customer and commissioner needs, develop compelling propositions and secure sustainable business.

A particular focus will be growing the Charity's position within the statutory sector. Leadership

We have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join a large team of thirteen, with no line management responsibilities.  We are a fast paced in-house legal team which works on a very broad range of matters.

Role Expectations

The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to grant making, contracts, procurement, charity, litigation, insolvency, subsidy control, debt recovery and public law.

In addition to providing substantive advice, the role requires a solicitor to be able to research and upskill on new areas of law very swiftly. It is also expected that the solicitor will use their legal knowledge to help improve the Fund’s internal processes and precedents, as well as ensuring that the Fund complies with statutory and regulatory frameworks at all times.

The bulk of the solicitor’s workload will consist of autonomous matters and legal queries. These will need to be answered in a timely manner. Support and supervision is always available and the legal team works on a very collaborative basis. The solicitor will also work with colleagues on larger scale projects when the opportunity arises.

Experience working in a busy in-house or private practice environment would be ideal, as would experience dealing with a range of clients, and experience with public law or public bodies. Knowledge of debt recovery/litigation and subsidy control law would be beneficial, as would experience gained in the UK.

This fixed term role will provide cover with the current position-holder is on secondment with another team. Within the Individual Giving team, the Fundraising Manager will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of activities that recruit new supporters and generate income. As Director of Finance & Resources, you will make sure we have the resources, systems and organisational capacity to deliver our ambitions. You will lead our finance function and have overall responsibility for HR, IT & AV, Estates & Facilities, and Venue Sales & Marketing, working with experienced Heads of Department across each area.

Finance will be central to the role. You will lead our financial strategy and planning, oversee our financial controls and reporting, and provide clear advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team, Council and its committees. But we are looking for more than a strong Finance Director. You will be part of a close-knit Senior Management Team which works collectively to lead the Academy. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

The Role

Following an exciting period of growth, CoppaFeel! is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our expanding team. You’ll be working closely with our Head of Finance & Contracts to help manage CoppaFeel!’s day-to-day finances and contribute to a range of essential finance functions. We’re looking for someone with experience of line management within a finance role, ideally within a small team or charity environment. Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Operations

• Oversee cashflow, month-end processes, reconciliations, journals, payroll, VAT, Gift Aid and grant income.

• Manage the day-to-day finance function, including queries and bank payments.

Management Accounting

• Checking and finalising of budget holder monthly reports and other internal financial reports.

About the role 

You will be playing a key role in the senior leadership of the fundraising directorate, working alongside the two Heads of Fundraising. You and your team will provide hugely important support functions for the charity, including; delivering fantastic event experiences for supporters, applying for significant funding, ensuring the smooth running and administration of the fundraising function and specifically for the two largest income areas in fundraising - lottery and legacies. 

Key responsibilities include: 

Put simply, you will be responsible for developing a future proofed administrative function that can manage all fundraising and supporter administration, processing and fulfilment requirements. 

Providing senior leadership and direction to the Trust and Grants, Gifts in Wills administration and events delivery functions of the fundraising directorate. Collaborating with Information Systems and Finance teams to ensure that all fundraising insight, reporting and supporter data is accessible and up to date. Commissioning the development of new dashboards or reports to ensure the fundraising team have everything they need to make informed decisions and to grow income. 

Proactively auditing and reviewing current activity and processes. Developing a culture of continuous improvement, through collaboration with other teams and key stakeholders, to address current and future need, plus identifying areas of efficiency, and where we can add value for supporters.

Becoming our in-house expert on fundraising governance and compliance, staying up to date with fundraising legislation and regulation to help ensure we are always compliant in our activity, policies and process across the fundraising department. 

You’ll bring: 

Significant experience leading or managing teams or functions in a charity and/or fundraising setting. Alongside this, you will have recently been working in an environment where you have been identifying and delivering improvements to operational systems and processes.

You will have a proven experience in project management and if you have knowledge of lean processing, value stream mapping or continuous improvement methods this would be a real bonus. You will be great at managing significant third-party contracts, supplier tendering and procurement, and contract negotiations.

Your knowledge of fundraising practices, governance, legislation and regulation will be great, but there will be opportunity to learn and develop this if you need it. A good working knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice, Gambling Commission and Charity Commission rules would be fantastic.

Overall, you will have the right mindset to get stuff done, solve problems and find ways to continuously improve processes and activity – being a fan of helicopters and the colour yellow, would be great too!

We bring together data, intelligence, technology and partnerships to build a deeper understanding of how exploitation operates, where risks are emerging and who is most at risk. This knowledge informs our prevention campaigns and programmes, which use targeted, evidence-led approaches to reach people with relevant information and support before exploitation occurs.

Safer Futures is one of the major pieces of work within STOP THE TRAFFIK’s prevention programme, focused on preventing child exploitation. It brings together a number of connected areas of prevention activity, including regional campaigns, national awareness activity and a youth-centred reporting channel.
