War Child is looking for an experienced fundraising leader to step into a key senior leadership role during a year of real momentum.

As Interim Director of Philanthropy and Partner Engagement, you’ll lead a high-performing team of around 15, covering major donors, principal giving, trusts and foundations, institutional funding, corporate partnerships, and gaming. Together, the team brings in around £10m of War Child’s £15–16m annual income.

You’ll report to the CEO and sit on the Senior Leadership Team, with shared responsibility for income generation, strategic planning, and organisational leadership. This is an opportunity to guide a strong team through its next phase of growth, support exciting developments already underway, and help shape the future of War Child’s fundraising.

We’re looking for a confident, strategic leader with experience at director level, or someone ready to step up from a senior head role in a complex organisation. You’ll bring a strong track record in high-value fundraising, with the credibility and judgement to operate at executive level and lead a diverse team through a period of delivery and growth.

As Interim Philanthropy and Partner Engagement Director, you will:

• Oversee and support a multi-disciplinary fundraising team spanning major donors, partnerships, gaming, principal giving, institutional funding, and events
• Lead strategic planning and budgeting across the function, ensuring strong performance, income growth and long-term value
• Maximise outcomes from Winter Wassail (December 2025), War Child’s flagship gala event with a £2m target and major stewardship opportunity
• Support and strengthen the corporate partnerships function, working closely with the Head of Partnerships to refine strategy and unlock potential
• Guide the development of the principal gifts function, with a new senior hire expected before the handover
• Shape next steps for gaming and digital partnerships, following an external review
• Take a strategic view of events-based philanthropy, identifying opportunities to evolve and diversify

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Significant experience in corporate partnerships, with the ability to develop strategy, support senior fundraisers and identify long-term opportunities
• Strong knowledge of high-value fundraising, including major donors, principal giving and events-led philanthropy
• Experience leading managers and senior fundraisers across multiple income streams, ideally within a similarly sized or complex organisation
• A strategic mindset, with hands-on involvement in planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
• A collaborative, emotionally intelligent leadership style that combines high challenge with high support
• The ability to influence across teams and departments; experience in international development is helpful but not essential
• The confidence to represent War Child with major donors, partners, and senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Willingness to take ownership of compliance areas, including GDPR, gambling regulation and trademark risk, with support from internal specialists

We welcome around 350,000 visitors to Waddesdon Manor and over 2 million browsers to our websites each year.  Waddesdon Manor offers visitors a programme of changing exhibitions, talks and tours, family activities and public events.  The income from our private events, shop, restaurants and sixteen-bedroom hotel help support keeping the Manor open to the public, our education programme and the care of the collections and gardens for all to enjoy. 

What you will do:

The role encompasses all aspects of digital marketing activity, including both B2B and B2C. You’ll also be supporting commercial activities for Waddesdon Manor, the trading company RWL which includes Catering for the Manor operation, visitors, retail, public events, private events, The Bow and The Five Arrows, and any special projects for the Rothschild Foundation e.g. future commercial property developments.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Develop and deliver an online strategy to drive engagement and conversion across Waddesdon’s digital channels.
• Develop and manage digital content, including copywriting and proofreading content to develop our storytelling and ensure academic accuracy, standards and tone of voice are consistent.
• Manage updates to the website to reflect the brand and optimise commercial performance.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to implement new content, amends and updates, which optimise the website and keep information up-to-date. Be the point of contact to help other departments with advice on digital content. 
• Manage SEO focused activities to increase quality traffic across the website. 
• Plan and manage social media strategy to drive engagement and build new audiences.
• Track and report digital performance across digital channels to enable strategic decision making and share information across the organisation.
• Work with external agencies as required, including managing the Google Grant.
• Be part of project teams to deliver a new website for Waddesdon, trading subsidiaries and the Rothschild Foundation, and support integration of new systems including a DAMS and CRM. 
• Help to develop strategic marketing campaigns for the business and develop plans to increase audiences.
• Monitor the outcomes of marketing activity and evaluate against plans, contributing to monthly reports. 
• Develop partnership ideas for content and social media and work with third parties as required to deliver these.
• Monitor competitor activity to ensure we are learning and evolving to become as relevant and engaging as possible.
• Contribute to marketing budget management and assist with budget forward planning in liaison with the managers of each business area eg RWL Heads of Department.
• Work closely with the wider marketing team and all colleagues across Waddesdon, sharing news on activity, to ensure that opportunities are maximised.

The INSPIRE Foundation, a charity whose objective is to promote research into the development of practical systems for people with damage to the spinal cord by the use of the latest advances in electronic, mechanical, and medical technology.

JOB PURPOSE

The Director is involved in every aspect of the running of INSPIRE, which includes raising funding from a variety of sources, formulating a winning strategy to grow INSPIRE, husbanding resources in the most effective and efficient manner and leading a small staff in their support roles.

SCOPE OF THE JOB

As Director, you will have a large amount of freedom to drive change, grow the charity, set the strategic vision going forwards and use your talents and leadership to ensure INSPIRE thrives. You are to ensure the charity has sufficient funds to cover all routine day-to-day expenses, to pay invoices quarterly for current projects and to plan for taking on medical research projects which are vetted by the National Science Committee (NSC) and agreed by the Board of Trustees. You will be actively supported by a Board of Trustees, to whom you report in your role as Director.

You should be qualified to degree level, ideally with an MBA or an equivalent business qualification. Some knowledge of spinal cord injury and its effects on an individual or of disability more broadly would be advantageous, as well as having a proven fundraising background from working in the 3rd Sector. The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Financial management or accountancy knowledge

• A high level of written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to interact with people from all backgrounds

• Standard keyboard skills including the ability to summarise meetings succinctly and clearly

INSPIRE is based in offices at Salisbury Hospital, Wiltshire and you will have a small, dynamic team to help and advise you as you settle into the role.

Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, or Newcastle. 

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.

Purpose of the Role:

As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for creating, developing and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Programme – how we inform, influence and positively impact employer-led social mobility, and a source of income generation.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Income Development, you’ll be the custodian of the Social Mobility Employer Index (SMEI) – our annual benchmarking and assessment tool for how UK employers recruit, retain and develop talent from all socioeconomic backgrounds and build inclusive workplaces. You'll have full product ownership, managing the delivery lifecycle from end-to-end: from marketing, to pipeline development and entrant submissions, data analysis, reporting and evaluation, as well as ongoing development and improvement.

In addition, by collaborating with existing partners who offer pro-bono consultancy, you’ll scope, develop and deliver new products, resources and services that equip employers with the knowledge and practical tools to improve social mobility in the workplace.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. The Compliance Team’s role is to provide assurance that, based on evidence, internal controls are in place and are operating effectively. We are responsible for ensuring Centrepoint can operate and develop safely within regulatory frameworks. The team, which consists of managers, officers and a head of department, oversees several aspects of compliance across Centrepoint, including fundraising, employability & skills, data protection, complaints, internal policies and procedures and safeguarding.   

Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The current requirement is a minimum of two days in the office per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. From 1 July 2025, this will increase to a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). Global Health Partnerships (GHP – formerly THET) is a global health charity working in partnership with governments, health institutions, and international bodies to train health workers and strengthen health systems across 31 countries. We do this through grants management and capacity building, alongside research, convening and advocacy towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). At the centre of our approach, is the model of Health Partnerships, long-term relationships between UK and low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) health institutions, which improve health services through the reciprocal exchange of skills, knowledge, and experience. At the heart of our work is vision of a world where everyone has access to healthcare.

GHP is seeking a consultant to conduct a study examining the work of GHWP in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. The consultant will lead investigations into the benefits and impact of HP health systems and health workforce interventions under the DHSC-funded GHWP.

This study will explore and examine the value added of the Health Partnership approach to the health systems of the three partner countries.  While the effectiveness and impact of health workforce and health system strengthening interventions have been highlighted through GHWP reports and sharing and learning events in each of the three countries, insights and results have not yet been sufficiently synthesised or documented in a way that supports advocacy, resource mobilisation and policy positioning.

This study will review and examine existing literature and data, including published and grey literature, GHWP reports, reports from other DHSC-funded GHP projects, and other available documentation on the benefits of the Health Partnership model (see Related Papers section). Some primary qualitative data collection and analysis may be required.

Contractual Responsibilities 

Reports to: The Technical Director, based in the UK, who will provide technical oversight of the study. The Consultant will be responsible for managing their workload and conducting the activities in a timely and efficient manner as set out in this document. The Consultant will agree the specific focus areas for the study with the Technical Director and GHP team.  The Consultant will also have regular reporting points with the Head of the Evidence and Impact Team and other GHP colleagues, as required.

The contract will run from August 2025 over a 4-month period. The Consultant will submit a technical proposal and budget of up to £20,000. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable.

· Power point presentation with preliminary findings

· Evidence brief of key findings and recommendations

Qualifications and Experience:

· Postgraduate degree in Global Health, Public Health, Health Policy, International Development, or a related field.

· Proven experience in health systems and/or health workforce research or evaluation

· Understanding of the health partnership approach/mode, ideally involving countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, or Kenya.

· Familiarity with the health systems in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya.  Additionally, familiarity with the Health Partnership model and the UK’s global health engagement strategies is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

· Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis, and synthesis.

· Ability to critically appraise and synthesise evidence from diverse sources (e.g., programme reports, academic literature, policy documents).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing reports, policy briefs, or academic publications.

· Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including policy makers, UN agencies, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, development partners, and health workers. Competence in using research tools and software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, Excel, or data visualization platforms).

· Ability to work independently and manage timelines for deliverables.

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

In January 2024 we launched phase one, of the ten-phase expansion, into the bordering counties of England and Wales, namely; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Avon and Somerset.

In July 2025, we plan to launch phase two of the expansion and will continue to roll out support in the coming years across the whole of England.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.

As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person

What we do for you:

Salary: Starting salary of £26,500 per annum, with the opportunity for an increase through the appraisal structure.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.

The purpose of the Transport and Physical Activity Lead is to work in partnership with the four Transport Teams across the Black Country to integrate physical activity into Transport planning and delivery.

The role will focus on supporting the implementation of the Black Country Walking and Cycling Infrastructure Plan (BC LCWIP), ensuring localised improvements are considered further to ensure connectivity between communities and the active travel infrastructure being delivered.

The role will have responsibility for developing understanding of the walking and cycling landscape and community need.

The role will understand how the BC LCWIP needs to be able to capitalise on both available and emerging funding opportunities to help deliver the cycling and walking vision for the area. The funding, however, is not only limited to the delivery of infrastructure but also to ensuring the right resources and skills are in place to support local activation.

Main Duties

1. Be the lead advocate for the integration of physical activity with Black Country Transport to decrease physical inactivity and support health, environmental and economic outcomes.

2. Drive approaches to place-based work with local partners to support a whole system approach to integrating physical activity into transport policy & services.

3. Lead the development of high-quality relationships which enable a collaborative focus on local transport assets, interventions, initiatives, programmes and activities which create opportunities for people to be active and tackle physical inactivity.

4. Work with appointed strategic and learning leads respectively alongside other suppliers on the Sport England recognised ‘Place Based’ investment in the Black Country. 

5. Work with transport leads from the four Black Country authorities to develop understanding of local people & communities, the needs, opportunities, and challenges of communities to be active and how this understanding can be used to strengthen partnerships and yield influence to integrate services.

6. Coordinate the development of Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure plans (LCWIP) that support the implementation of local priorities to improve outcomes and tackle inequalities in physical activity levels.

7. Establish and/or maintain effective multi-partner place networks and related forums to support connectivity of assets across the Black Country landscape particularly the canal infrastructure to influence co-design opportunities for walking and cycling.

8. Provide regular reports as required on the progress of the implementation of programmes, in line with established key performance indicators.

About the role

This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Charity Shop Manager to join our team at our Exeter-based charity.

This new role will combine providing support and/or absence cover to our existing shops, along with getting involved in other opportunities for growth and development across the retail team (e.g. volunteering). Working in the shops may involve working to support the shop manager, or stepping in for them at short notice (and quickly getting to grips with their shop, processes, staff, volunteers and customers). This will be balanced according to business needs.

The nature of this role means that you will need to be capable of both leading or being part of a team consisting of shop assistants and volunteers.

There will also be times when you will be working on your own or with our Head of Retail and Enterprise at our Exeter base. The most important thing is that you will be helping us to achieve and exceed business targets for sales, growth and profits.

You will be based either at one of our charity shops, or at our main base in Exeter (to be discussed at interview).

About you

We’re looking for someone with prior management experience in charity retail, and demonstrable knowledge of the sector and its challenges.
