The Job 

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. The Church Engagement and Events Officer will play a key role in building relationships with churches, supporters and volunteers across Britain, Ireland and Europe, helping them engage more deeply with USPG's vision and mission. 

You will lead the planning and delivery of USPG's events programme, including the USPG Conference, Founder's Day, In Conversation Dinners and the annual Carol Service, as well as supporting the organisation's presence at festivals, synods and other national events. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create inspiring and engaging experiences that raise awareness of USPG's global mission. 

As the first point of contact for many church supporters, you will provide excellent stewardship, support and resources that inspire churches and communities to engage through prayer, giving and action. You will also contribute to the development of USPG's church engagement activity, helping to strengthen supporter relationships and increase engagement across the church year. 

About You  

You are a confident and proactive relationship builder with experience in planning events and working with churches, supporters, volunteers or Christian organisations. You are passionate about helping people engage with mission, justice and the global Church. 

An organised and effective communicator, you can manage multiple projects and events, build strong stakeholder relationships and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. You are comfortable engaging with clergy, church leaders, volunteers and supporters, and are motivated by USPG's mission and Christian ethos.

Are you experienced in leading a team within Service Charges?

We have two fantastic opportunities to join our Service Charges team as Regional Service Charge Managers. Based from our office in Basingstoke, you'll combine office and home working in line with our hybrid approach, with occasional travel to our Wembley office for team meetings.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Service Charge Setting and Administration, you'll be responsible for managing and coordinating the Regional Service Charges team in the South West region in the delivery of the service charge calculations (all tenure types) and annual service charge statements to customers in line with legal and regulatory requirements. The portfolio consists of approximately 20,000 units with a total annual service charge income budget of c.£20 million. Responsibilities include:

• Managing the Regional Service Charge team with a focus on articulating a clear vision, providing direction, and promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

• Setting the annual service charge expenditure and income budget across all tenures within the region

• Accountability for the annual service charge estimate and final account process, ensuring the risk associated with rechargeable service charges is effectively managed and regulatory time scales are met

• Working collaboratively across the business to support continuous service improvement and deliver excellent customer service to customers across different tenure types, ensuring compliance with legal requirements

• Reviewing and approving the certification of annual service charges, documenting the calculation and apportionment process, including the reports and supporting documentation to facilitate the certification

• Producing and analysing regular reports on recoverable repairs and maintenance expenditure, estimated service charge income and ad-hoc reports dependant on business requirements

What we're looking for

You should have previous experience in a similar management role within service charges. You'll need to demonstrate strong technical knowledge, being adept in managing fixed and variable charges in a large and complex setting, preferably in a housing context. You'll also need:

• To be an experienced leader, skilled in developing high-performing teams and consistently maintaining high operational standards

• Thorough understanding of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 (as amended) and other guidance and best practice for service charges

• To be qualified by experience or a qualified accountant with a solid understanding of accounting practices and concepts including account reconciliations

• Ability to take ownership and work independently whilst meeting tight organisational deadlines

• Strong stakeholder management skills, demonstrating collaborative, cross-functional working relationships, including experience liaising with external stakeholders, e.g. auditors, regulators and Ombudsman

• Experience in directly engaging with customers, addressing queries, and delivering clear, concise written communication

• Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate / advanced excel

• Knowledge and experience of using housing management and property management systems (e.g. Workday, SUN, Agresso, NEC, Active H or similar)

We have an exciting new opportunity to join Sovereign Network Group (SNG) as Finance Compliance Manager in our Rent Setting team. Based from our office in Wembley, you'll combine office and home working in line with our hybrid approach, with occasional travel to other sites as required.

The Role

Reporting to our Head of Rent Setting and Administration, you'll lead a specialist team responsible for ensuring full compliance with rent and service charge legislation, regulatory standards (including the rent standard and the leasehold and freehold reform act 2024), and internal policies across SNG's housing portfolio.

You'll be responsible for overseeing the accurate setting, reviewing and communication of rents and service charges, ensuring transparency, affordability and regulatory compliance, while supporting financial viability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring compliance with national rent policy frameworks (EG Rent Standard 2020, RSH requirements) and relevant legislation (Housing Act 1985, Welfare Reform etc)

• Owning the governance of rent and service charge policies, procedures and controls, ensuring they compliance and alignment to any changes in government regulations, as well as being clearly communicated and embedded in operational practice

• Overseeing the annual rent and service charge setting and annual service charge actuals processes, including reviewing rent and service charge calculations, collating final rent and service charge data and updating systems with new charges.

• Working with teams across Localities, Specialist Housing, Asset Management and Procurement to ensure accurate and timely setting of service charges and rent for both new and existing schemes and tenants

• Identifying and managing rent and service charge compliance risks, ensuring material errors, regulatory breaches, or weak controls are escalated appropriately, remediation plans are delivered, lessons are learned and repeat failures are prevented

• Owning the fair rent compliance framework, ensuring all fair rent accounts are maintained and updated, re-registrations are managed to schedule, successions are correctly monitored and recorded, and fair rent properties being re-let are promptly reclassified and charged in line with the Rent Standard and internal policies

• Managing the Finance compliance team with a focus on articulating a clear vision, providing direction, and promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

You'll be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or Qualified by Experience, with strong knowledge of rent setting and service charge processes within social housing. You'll also need:

• In depth knowledge of UK rent legislation, regulatory frameworks and service charge principles affecting social housing (E.g. Rent Standard, Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024)

• To be an experienced leader, skilled in developing high-performing teams and consistently maintaining high operational standards

• Ability to take ownership and work independently whilst meeting tight organisational deadlines

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, demonstrating collaborative, cross-functional working relationships, including experience liaising with external stakeholders, e.g. auditors

• Demonstrable experience with solving data quality issues and improving processes, including delivering key change initiatives in an organisation

• Experience with NEC/Active H housing management systems, Workday or similar finance and housing management systems is desirable

About the role:

At Camden Young Person’s High Support Accommodation Service, nights matter. They can be the point where worry, distress, conflict or risk comes to the surface - and where calm, skilled leadership can make all the difference. As Night Manager, you will lead the overnight service, making sure young people experience safety, consistency and support when they need it most.

You will be the senior operational decision-maker overnight, leading the night team to respond confidently to incidents, safeguarding concerns, missing young people procedures, building safety, visitor access and any actions handed over from the day team. You’ll work with a high level of independence, while knowing when to liaise with the on-call manager, emergency services or wider management team to keep young people, staff and the building safe.

This is also a role about connection. You’ll line manage, support and guide Night Workers, oversee locum or agency staff where needed, and make sure overnight learning, handovers and emerging themes are shared clearly with the Service Manager and wider team. Through trauma informed, strengths-based and psychologically informed practice, you’ll help build a service where night and day support feels joined up, purposeful and ambitious for young people’s futures.

• You are calm, confident and steady under pressure, with the judgement to manage risk overnight and know when to escalate.
• You have experience supporting, supervising or leading staff in supported accommodation, youth work, social care, housing or a similar setting.

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for digital communications and the power of green spaces? The Land Trust is looking for a Communications and Marketing Officer to help share the impact of our work with communities, residents, partners and clients across the UK.

This new role will work with colleagues across the charity and will lead on social media and digital communications, create engaging written, photographic and video content, keep our website up to date, and support newsletters, campaigns, events and communications for our parks and green spaces. It will play a central role in helping us to maintain our commitment to open and transparent communication with residents living on service charge sites.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and full of ideas, with strong communication skills and confidence using multiple social media platforms. You do not necessarily need to have a qualification in communications and marketing, as we’re keen to also hear from those with demonstrable related experience. We are also committed to supporting the right candidate with training and support to grow their skills and experience whilst in post.

The post will be involved with and lead on a range of projects and tasks, so you will need a ‘can do’ attitude to managing a varied workload. Experience in the charity, customer service, community engagement or environmental sectors would also be an advantage.

You will have a good understanding of business models, legal structures and financial systems that social and environmental organisations and community run and owned businesses may use. You will need to understand social enterprise finances, be able to read accounts, budgets, cashflows and have a good knowledge of social enterprise income streams.

We need someone who understands how hard it is to start up and grow social and environmental enterprises and can support people from diverse backgrounds in managing their grant, finances and growing their business.

The Communications Manager provides operational leadership for CLAPA's communications delivery, ensuring communications and marketing activity is effectively planned, prioritised and delivered in support of the charity's strategic objectives.

The Haven is seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the financial sustainability of our organisation and the life-changing services we deliver for 30 hours per week.

Working closely with the Trusts Managers, and the Senior Philanthropy & Trusts Manager, you will lead the teams to secure, and grow, vital funding from trust sources to support the welfare of dogs and cats across the UK and internationally. The role currently leads a team of three.

The Trusts Lead will drive forward the Trusts strategy as well as oversee KPI development and measurement, and budgets for the team. The role is also responsible for account managing a handful of partners, as well as an organisationally significant seven-figure relationship with Postcode Lottery, requiring significant work with stakeholders across Battersea.

The post will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, but in particular with the Head of Philanthropy, Partnerships & Commercial, the Senior Corporate & Commercial Partnerships Manager, the Senior Fundraising Operations Manager, the Special Events & Stewardship Manager and Marketing & Communications teams to collaborate on joint projects and ensure contacts are shared to maximise all opportunities.

St Joseph’s Hospice has a brilliant vacancy for a Specialist Palliative Care Physician at either Consultant or Lead Consultant level, dependent on experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant difference to the palliative and end-of-life care experiences of our wonderfully diverse and extensive local communities. You will influence the shape of palliative medicine and hospice care in one of the oldest and largest hospices in England.

Hours: 40 plus on-call work, with 10 programmed activities + on-call rota.

About you

You will need:

• Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice and entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Palliative Medicine or eligibility for entry within six months of interview
• Experience of specialist palliative and end-of-life care at Consultant level or senior training level
• MRCP (UK) or equivalent Royal College qualification
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience of teaching and supporting healthcare professionals

Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of Head of Liaison and Project Support Unit, and working collaboratively with colleagues across the Country Office and the wider organisation, the Senior External Relations Associate will be responsible and accountable for supporting the implementation of engagement activities with governmental and parliamentary stakeholders, international financial institutions, think tanks, as well as other key counterparts.
