An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supporter Care Assistant to join the Fundraising Team .Your role is to be responsible for delivering excellent service to The Children's Trust’s supporters.

Role Requirements

• Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries (both internal and external) received on a day- to-day basis.
• Confidently respond to phone calls and enquiries from supporters and the general public in a prompt, professional and friendly manner.
• Produce letters and e-mails in response to enquiries from supporters and the general public.
• Ensure the prompt and accurate recording of donations on the fundraising database, ThankQCRM
• Liaise with fundraisers concerning the coding of donations on the fundraising database.
• Produce thank you letters to supporters in a prompt timeframe.
• Liaise with the Finance department regarding donation coding and financial reconciliation.
• Add new supporter records to the fundraising database.
• Update existing supporter records on the fundraising database (i.e. changes of address).
• Update existing donation data on the fundraising database.

All Heads of will lead on a combination of strategic and operational priorities and the roles will involve a variety of responsibilities including:

• Overseeing up to £50m of grant commitments each year ensuring compliance with our operational and governance policies and requirements
• Lead one of the community-led missions in relation to the UK Portfolio’s funding offer
• Lead the strategic development and direction of a combination of our funding programmes and partnership approach
• Responsible for stakeholder management, both internally and externally
• Ensure learning and impact of our work is shared appropriately and informs our practice
• Lead engagement with our decision making Panels, Committees and Board
• Team leadership including culture, resource planning and team development

You will need to work closely with the other Heads of Funding and each day will be a blend of operational and strategic work, stakeholder engagement, team leadership with lots of opportunities to collaborate with others across the Fund.

Excellent leadership and collaboration skills will be essential in building relationships at all levels, from senior management to external stakeholders and funding colleagues across the Fund. You’ll have a keen understanding of the nuances of working within a public body, and a deep commitment to ensuring we are delivering impact through our current funding portfolio whilst also looking to the future and developing new funding initiatives and ways of working to meet our 2030 vision.

The Role
The Head of Fundraising is a pivotal leadership role, reporting to the CEO and joining the SMT.

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. We're looking for a Head of Governance and Compliance to work closely with our CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. This is a vital role at the centre of the organisation, supporting a wide range of influential individuals. The Head of Governance and Compliance will need to adapt to varied working styles and expectations, with the ability to approach all relationships with professionalism, clarity and care.

As Head of Governance and Compliance, you will lead our governance function, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance while enabling effective decision-making. With strong governance experience, sound judgement and the ability to build trust at all levels, you will support effective leadership and accountability across the MND Association.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and continuously develop the governance function, embedding best practices aligned with our strategy and values.
• Act as the primary trusted advisor on governance, risk and regulatory matters to the Chair, Board, CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
• Lead and develop governance frameworks, policies and structures that reflect best practice.
• Oversee planning and delivery of all governance activities, including Board meetings, Committee meetings, and the AGM.
• Provide clear structured agendas, timely papers and accurate minutes to support effective governance meetings.
• Maintain governance records and ensure regulatory compliance with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Monitor and report on governance performance, risks and improvement areas.
• Take a leading role in managing and enabling constructive and challenging relationships between the Board, Chair, and ELT.
• Manage trustee recruitment, induction, training and succession planning.
• Oversee the organisation's policy framework and serious complaints process, ensuring appropriate enquiry and learning.
• Lead the development and implementation of the risk management framework in line with Board expectations.
• Stay informed on legal, regulatory and sector developments and advise the organisation on implications.

About You:

• Strong knowledge of UK charity and company law.
• Proven experience working with Boards and senior leaders in a governance role.
• Skilled in developing governance policies, frameworks and risk management processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Good level of financial acumen within a governance role.
• High levels of discretion, judgement and political awareness.
• Able to work independently, make sound decisions and prioritise effectively.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong relationships and influence sensitively.
• Committed to inclusion, ethical practice and continuous learning.
• CGI qualified or working towards qualification (desirable).

The Job

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Supporter Care Officer role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. USPG is looking for someone with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to join our small but growing fundraising team.  The post holder will be the first port of call for all incoming communications and will work closely with the Individual Giving Manager to ensure that our supporters feel valued. The role is also responsible for maintaining the data and developing supporter care processes. 

You

You are highly organised, enthusiastic and flexible with a passion for delivering an excellent supporter experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, data handling and administration. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible, can-do attitude. The role holder will be used to co-ordinating a varied workload, working in close collaboration with colleagues and delivering to deadlines. They will have excellent IT skills and experience of working with databases.
