We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Case Hanlder (known internally as a Team leader) to join the National Homicide Service (HS), leading the London, Thames Valley & Hampshire caseworker team. This is a home based role working 37.5 hours per week.

About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will have a passion for excellent service delivery, performance management and team welfare.

The family caseworkers provide in person support to families who have experienced the sudden and traumatic death by Homicide. The caseworkers are responsible for ensuring the needs identified are met, that each person being supported receives guidance, advise and practical support as well as emotional support and advocacy.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills essential to managing a diverse workload, and be committed to supporting the caseworkers to deliver support.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals.

We support staff to keep them safe within their role and you will lead on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team.

You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team.

You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online.

You will enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams/Coroner officers and other statutory agencies) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships.

You should be confident to deliver internal and external presentations to a wide range of audiences. You will have experience of achieving key performance indicators, as directed by the Operations managers and Deputy Head of Service.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Community Outreach Manager to manage and expand our outreach efforts. The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver Betknowmore UK's Community Outreach services, engaging with local communities, and supporting individuals impacted by gambling harms. 

This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing the service’s strategy, operations, and delivery, ensuring that services are accessible, effective, and meet the needs of diverse communities.

Key Requirements

Essential:

• Must be London based as you will be required to attend community events and in-person meetings within the Greater London area.
• Significant experience in a leadership or managerial role within a social services, community outreach, or public health setting.

We work alongside people to help them escape poverty, build confidence, and find community.

Our principal activity is the prevention of food poverty and food insecurity by offering culturally appropriate food, fresh fruits, and vegetables as well as dietary and religiously appropriate food which we have continued to run at our five-week sessions to local people for as long as they address the underlying cause.

We also provide a range of wraparound support, including advice services, particularly around employment and immigration through our Back2Work Team, Holiday Clubs for Children, Youth Groups, a Clothing Bank and our Spring Up Women’s group.

The Service Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the mission of our charity by providing comprehensive assistance and advocacy services to individuals and families in need. This position will involve engaging with diverse communities and ensuring that all services are delivered with cultural sensitivity. 

The Service Officer will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver Food Bank services, Activity Camps, and Afterschool club, advice and advocacy support, clothing assistance, cooking programs, and Social Supermarket Operations, as well as support initiatives for the elderly, individuals experiencing poverty and isolation, and families with children.

The post holder must be an enthusiastic and motivated person to coordinate and manage our Food Banks, Community Café, and Social Supermarket, including the supervision of its volunteers/staff, as well as planning, organising, and implementing supermarket collection. 

The post holder will be required to be flexible to the changing needs of the organisation and as such, undertake tasks and responsibilities not specifically listed here but relevant to the smooth running of SCH, including general office and administrative tasks and aspects of service delivery, as directed by the Leadership Team/ CEO and trustees.

About the Role / Key Responsibilities 

Programme Planning, Delivery and Implementation

•  To design and deliver the  Activity Camps and After School Club  Programme calendar, curriculum, and events that are outcomes-focused, educational, and engaging, and enable young people to develop a range of skills appropriate to their needs.

• Working with Children, young people, and their families to build services that meet their needs, wants, and aspirations of the individual.

• Work in Collaboration with the Leadership Team  to oversee the work of the Spring Activity Camps Coordinators to design and develop a range of activities, workshops, and programmes to meet the needs of our children, young people, and their families 

• Collaborate with other staff members, volunteers, and external partners to deliver engaging, fun, and impactful activities

• Ensure all activities align with the organisation's mission and values and promote personal growth, inclusivity, and well-being.

• Oversee and coordinate the operations of Food Services 

•  Assist clients in accessing food bank services, ensuring they receive the necessary support with dignity and respect.

• Maintain inventory management for food items and coordinate food drives and partnerships with local suppliers.

• Developing and coordinating effective stock control systems, arranging timely transportation of collections and deliveries, and meeting legislative standards - i.e., Health & Safety/Environmental Health.

• Provide and oversee assessments of guests, customers, and service users on a one-on-one/group basis to ensure they receive adequate advice/signposting and support on benefits, housing, financial support, and other relevant issues impacting clients' well-being. We’re looking for a Head of Policy and Public Affairs to lead our policy and influencing activity at Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the UK’s leading charity uniting for a life unlimited for everyone with cystic fibrosis (CF). Could that be you?

A confident communicator, you’ll need to be able to engage and inspire those around you to develop and deliver planned and reactive advocacy activity that is well-targeted and persuasive. You’ll need to juggle multiple projects from commissioning policy research, to developing and overseeing consultation responses, responding to key moments in the political calendar, briefing senior stakeholders and managing partnership working. 

From tackling the additional costs associated with a lifelong condition like CF, to championing specialist CF care and a vibrant research environment and ensuring swift access to essential new treatments, this is a pivotal role that provides huge opportunity to deliver vital impact for people affected by CF.

You will lead all aspects of charity financial and resource management for two separate but closely connected charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA), which are supported by a single head office team. You will work closely with staff at all levels, often having to mentor the charities’ managers to help them plan and manage their own budgets.

About the Role

Roles and Responsibilities

Accounting (40%)

• Oversee day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, for both the UK charity and the newly created US charity
• Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records of accounting evidence for all transactions are maintained

Skills and experience

Essential

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. The role will be split between operational management of the BSS team, line management of BSSOs, supporting and contributing to other strands of bereavement support work, as well as some direct work on all of the support channels.
