Marketing management

• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using a range of tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM reports, Google Data Studio), working closely with our Digital Content Manager and Data Manager.
• Proactively look at ways to improve the overall effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using data and insights to inform this.
• Track and monitor email campaign effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements, most notably during our annual member renewals campaign.

Brand management

• Champion our FSRH values, brand guidelines and style guide, supporting the Head of Marketing to keep our templates and materials up-to-date and implemented correctly.
• Support the development of event specific content for in-person and online events, and occasionally assist as an FSRH representative.
• Produce slides for our CEO / Officers where needed to help share information about FSRH’s work.

Currently, prison isn’t a place which successfully does this – the average prisoner has 16 previous convictions, and 55% of those released from short-term sentences reoffend within one year. About the role

Are you passionate about women’s health and the power of communications to advocate, inform, and influence? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as interim Head of Media and Communications.

In this role, you will play a vital part in the RCOG’s mission to improve the lives of women and girls around the world, through the delivery of creative communications campaigns and high-impact media stories. You will promote our guidelines, research and reports to support their use around the world to deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care for women.

Leading our busy press office, you will have opportunities to shape the media agenda on critical women’s health issues and champion the voices of women and girls through creative story-telling. Your social media expertise will ensure we are effectively listening to and engaging our members, partners and the public.

You will enjoy building and managing relationships with stakeholders to deliver opportunities for partnership working – including national health organisations, other Royal Colleges and women’s health charities. You will have excellent strategic judgement and be confident to advise senior College stakeholders on high profile and sensitive issues.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will line manage our Senior Media and Communications Officer and work closely with colleagues in our policy, public affairs and marketing teams to help ensure the College’s external affairs work is integrated, coherent and impactful.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of our annual media and communications plan, including priority campaigns in partnership with marketing, policy and public affairs colleagues
• Oversee our busy press office, ensuring we maintain strong media relations and are achieving high impact coverage on College priorities
• Deliver proactive external communications to promote awareness and impact of RCOG programmes, projects and products
• Ensure we are effectively using our social media and digital channels to listen, engage and influence, including production of videos, podcasts and webinars, etc.

About you

We are seeking an organised individual with demonstrable experience in providing professional HR support, and a desire to grow and develop in a varied and interesting generalist role.

You will have a background in HR, and ideally, additional experience supporting in wider business support, such as office administration, IT or operations.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of People, the HR Officer will primarily:

• Act as first point of contact on general HR & operational queries for the staff team and administer relevant files and email inboxes
• Champion staff well-being, delivering our staff well-being events and socials, and supporting in the deliver of new well-being ventures
• Support in the recruitment of diverse and effective staff
• Support in the onboarding, training and development of our staff team
• Ensure that the operations contractors, including, cleaning, IT, security and facilities are fulfilling agreed service levels
• Look to where the People team may further develop and improve its processes and support for the staff team and Society, either to improve their own capabilities or those of other staff
