The Marketing and Communications Manager leads the development and delivery of all marketing, communications, and branding activity at Northampton Students’ Union. Responsibilities and Person Specification:
The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.
The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. Applicants will need to be good communicators, verbally and in writing.
This role is 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week). There is some flexibility around how the hours can be worked, but hours would normally be worked across 2.5 days a week, with attendance required at specific times for management and trustee meetings. Office attendance will be required on average 2 days a week for meetings and due to responsibility for office management.

As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing day-to-day operations, proactive in ensuring a strong internal control environment and keen to drive operational and cost efficiencies.

The key duties of the Finance Manager are as follows:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for DF&R to review

- Manage the finance team and oversee/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash posting and all general ledger entries and that all reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis
- Overseeing the completion of the monthly payroll and submission of year end payroll returns and ensuring good collaboration with the People & Culture team on matters that affect staff salary payments
- Liaising with IMPAKT’s banks as and when required
- Provide regular 1:1’s and Annual Appraisals for the Finance team members
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as Finance Manager
- Non-profit experience highly preferred
- Ideally fully qualified accountant but this is a desirable. Part qualified and qualified by experience are also acceptable
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in accounting and finance
- A good knowledge of the issues facing homeless people, and homelessness issues in general across all ages
- Possess a professional personal image and the ability to work harmoniously and establish positive relationships with staff at all levels and with third-party suppliers
- Ability to explain financial terms in simple language
- Demonstrate and convey a passion for the work of IMPAKT housing & support, including an understanding of the work we do and the challenges faced

Main purpose of the job
The role exists to ensure that the Students’ Union operates as a democratic organisation and that the student voice is heard and a part of everything we do. The position will:
- Manage, review and promote the Student Representative structure
- Develop robust mechanisms for gaining student feedback in order to fulfil the
- Students’ Union’s key objective of effective representation.
- Lead on elections for our Full Time Officer team.
- Work closely with the University as well as internal SU staff and student leaders.
- Oversee the work of our independent and impartial advice service.
Lead on academic representation
- To manage, develop, promote and review student representative schemes across the SU structures in partnership with UOG colleagues.
- To liaise with the relevant University staff in matters of student representation and ensure administrative processes are effective.
- To devise and deliver student representative training in a manner which is accessible to all students.
- To manage, develop and promote SU feedback tools (both online and in-person alongside wider student voice activities and events.
- To ensure that feedback from all sources is analysed through a student focused lens.
- To work with student leaders and ensure actions developed from feedback is taking place where appropriate.
- To regularly formally report on feedback received through SU channels to university stakeholders and relevant committees.
- To lead on the production of key SU research and reports as necessary (including but not limited to government/sector led consultations) and support team members to produce other research as required.
- To develop and deliver reports for internal audiences based on data, insight and student voice.
- To act as a key support staff member in University meeting alongside elected student leaders providing support and briefings as necessary.
- Support career staff and student leaders to negotiate actions and decisions during University change projects.
Support and develop our democratic functions
- To effectively encourage student engagement with democracy.
- To oversee all election processes and act as Deputy Returning Officer for SU
- elections.
- To stay informed of local, national and international student experience developments in order to advise the elected student leaders.
- To act as the lead staff member to the Annual General Meeting of students and SU Council meetings.
- To assist in the review and updating of SU Governance documents.
- To support and advise elected Officers on their student-led campaign activity (also known as priority campaigns)
Advice and advocacy leadership
- To have responsibility for the independent SU Advice Service.
- To design and deliver improvements to the developing service which may include the
- building of triage support, referrals or innovative ways of work with other agencies
- To ensure that service standards for the operation of the independent SU Advice Service are monitored and upheld at all times.
- To ensure the SU Advice Service is delivered in an actively inclusive manner making its services accessible for all of our members.
- To ensure best practise is followed in the storage and use of sensitive information held by the SU Advice Service in line with GDPR and any other relevant data legislation.
- To ensure that the work of the SU Advice team links well with student representatives and the campaigning elements of UoGSU to make best use of service data trends.
- To act as an advocate for the service within the UOG community and beyond. This will include the production of reports to develop funding streams for the service.

We are praying for a talented Director of Fundraising and Supporter Partnerships to join our Leadership Team. You will be inheriting a skilled and diverse team raising income from individuals, legacies, trusts and foundations, corporates and major donors with the support from a new CRM system, to fulfil your responsibilities.
- Salary: £73,000 depending on experience + 13.8% employer contribution to pension, 30 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and 3 days ex-gracia during Christmas and New year + other benefits.
- Location: London City Mission will carefully consider flexible working patterns where possible, though at least 2 days a week presence at Nasmith House, 175 Tower Bridge Road will be necessary.

We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced and motivated individuals to join the UK Legal and Arrivals Team in its invaluable and ground-breaking work to ensure that safe routes to sanctuary exist and are accessible for all people seeking asylum.
As an Immigration Lawyer/ Immigration Caseworker Supervisor in the UK Legal Team, you will run a caseload of complex family reunion entry clearance applications and appeals, you will also supervise cases of colleagues and pro bono solicitors and volunteers, if appropriate. You will be supported by colleagues in the UK Legal team and work in close collaboration with colleagues in SPI France and Greece as well as with professionals in relevant external organisations.
You will be determined and committed to delivery high quality legal casework supporting asylum seeking children to reunite with family members in the UK. You will be attentive to detail, flexible, efficient and able to work independently and under supervision as part of a small and dynamic team. You will be eager to contribute to the overall missions and values of Safe Passage International and to work collaboratively with other teams in this international and multi-disciplinary organisation.

The responsibilities of the Client Finance Manager will include:
· Delivering budgets and forecasts for each client, property and tenancy, using complex data from the MRI Horizon general ledger and other systems, Hyperion and Excel tools to provide accurate and meaningful financial information
· Being accountable for financial control over property services accounting, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction by providing accurate forecasting, explanations and billing
· Maintaining a focus on process improvement, including planning and establishing new systems and processes for quarterly financial reporting to ensure clients understand their costs and bills, delivering an ongoing service that meets and exceeds expectations
· Being the key liaison between senior finance and property staff for client meetings, involving being acutely aware of the customers’ needs and acting upon them, and being proactive in problem solving and finding solutions
· Leading the service delivery to clients alongside management accountants and other colleagues, supporting the growth of the GPA, and matching resources to client demand
· Manage due diligence exercises on estate-related financial information provided by the client and interrogate to identify material financial risks to GPA and ensure correct account treatments are applied.
Key Skills & Experience
· Be proficient in Microsoft Excel skills and able to manipulate complex data sets.

· Ideally, have experience in client finance, including reporting to clients, managing systems and processes, working in partnership with clients to deliver results

· Ideally have experience in the property industry within medium to large organisations where customer service is a priority
