This is an exciting new role to develop a peer support group for people recently diagnosed with dementia and their family carers and to co produce a programme of activities so that they can continue to engage in stimulating activities in the community.

This role has been developed as a response to consultation on what people in Newham living with dementia want in order to live well with the disease. The successful candidate will be working with a small team of communitiy dementia support colleagues.

We are looking to recruit a Compliance Coordinator to ensure precision and adherence to regulatory standards. In this role every detail counts towards maintaining organisational integrity and compliance assurance. You will play a crucial part in ensuring an effective and consistent delivery of compliance, repairs, maintenance and servicing of components and equipment to YMCA DownsLink Group’s properties, working closely with staff across the organisation, including internal operatives, and external contractors.

In delivering the role, you will provide continued assurance to the business, ensuring it remains compliance across the six (soon to be seven) key areas; namely gas, electric, water (hygiene), lifts (LOLER), asbestos and the imminent addition of the management of damp and mould cases.

This role reports to and supports the Health, Safety and Facilities Manager to ensure we streamline data and associated processes to improve speed and accuracy of data interrogation. You will run reports and produce key performance information at specified intervals on all aspects of compliance to provide adequate assurance to those responsible that accurate records are maintained, and appropriate evidence is retained.

In addition, you will be required to work closely with our Maintenance Administrator to ensure continuous cover is provided during absence or during particularly busy periods.

Hybrid role – mainly based at Reed House in Hove, with an expectation to work out of other locations across the YMCA DownsLink Group area when required. Working a minimum of three days at Reed House / on site and two days from home - working hours of Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm and Friday, 9am to 4.30pm.

The Active Wellbeing programme (AW)

The Active Wellbeing programme is a specialist mental health exercise referral programme. This programme is designed to engage and promote health and wellbeing to people diagnosed with a severe mental illness (SMI). The programme involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.  

The Active Wellbeing programme – Learning Disabilities (AW)

The Active Wellbeing programme is expanding to work with adults with learning disabilities who also have a long and enduring mental health condition. The programme LD involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with long and enduring mental health conditions and individuals with learning disabilities.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a weekly physical activity session for each client considering safety and progression with each of the 10 sessions. 
• Monitor clients exercise intensity, type, and ability to ensure clients are exercising safely.
• Monitoring clients mental wellbeing during sessions to ensure safety and communicating any concerns to the line manager.
• Responsible for arranging weekly sessions with clients (and in some cases carers alongside)
• High level of communication between instructor and client (in some cases carers or support workers) to confirm session times and locations.
• High level of communication between instructor and line manager to report any concerns with a clients mental and physical wellbeing during sessions.
• Provide motivation and encouragement for clients to engage in sessions and stay engaged in their programme. 
• Responsible for the setup of equipment for outdoor or online sessions.
• Responsible with checking in and out of sessions with the admin team to ensure safety of both instructor and client. 
• Responsible for checking the safety of equipment. If equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, responsible for communicating this with the Active Wellbeing programme coordinator. 
• Responsible for administering first aid in the event of an accident and ensuring that safety requirements are met in all areas.

Duties and responsibilities

Content Planning

About the Project

Hertfordshire Mind Network is proud to provide early intervention support to children and young people experiencing poor mental health across Hertfordshire. We provide a combination of support through psychoeducational workshops, open access, 1:1 and group support.

We are expanding our provision, to offer drop in, open access community support to 10–18-year-olds across the county who need someone to talk to about their mental health in that moment. This space will offer timely support, in a person-centred, trauma informed way.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Herts Haven Café service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues, including crisis presentations, in Hertfordshire.
• To provide drop in, no referral required, timely support to 10-18 year olds.
• To support children and young people in Hertfordshire to access community based mental health help.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided across the CYP MHS system.

About the Role:

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Herts Haven Café service, facilitating drop-in mental health support for children and young people aged 10-18. As a practitioner you will meet the varying needs of the individual, as they present, meaning no day may look the same.

A person-centred approach will be maintained, and this role is pivotal to ensuring CYP have a warm and welcoming space to turn to. You will be working as a team to facilitate support, deliver brief mental health interventions, signposting, and ensure timely information, guidance and referrals are provided for ongoing support.

The Role 

 This Casework Coordinator role is based within the Services Directorate.  In part, this directorate focuses its support on refugees who have been recognised as having protection needs and have been granted permission to stay in the UK but are now struggling to rebuild their lives in a new and unfamiliar country. Many need advice and guidance in areas such as housing, health, welfare support, education/training and employment.

The Refugee Council’s Private Renting Scheme is based in London and has been delivering specialised support to new refugees wanting to access private rented accommodation in London since 2012. Working with private landlords and other housing providers our Private Renting Scheme creates tenancy opportunities for new refugees and provides support and advice to ensure tenancies are suitable and sustainable.

The postholder will work with private landlords and other housing providers to secure tenancies for clients. The postholder will also provide casework support to clients, ensuring they are ready to secure and sustain a tenancy. This will involve providing casework support dealing with the key issues of housing and welfare benefits.

 The Casework Coordinator will work closely with others to ensure we effectively manage and support our caseload of clients and run an effective advice service. This role will take responsibility for the progression of its own caseload with the support of volunteers.

• To provide face to face advice and support to adult refugees in a sensitive, confidential and professional manner which fully understands the needs of the individual.
• To create links and work effectively with private landlords and other housing providers (such as housing associations, housing cooperatives, low needs housing providers) to create accessible, suitable and sustainable tenancy options for clients.

How you will make a difference

I support key projects to increase opportunities for people severely affected by mental illness and their carers to improve their physical activity levels, physical health and quality of life.

I support the work of the Physical Activity and Physical Health team within Rethink Mental Illness. This includes supporting the successful delivery of a Sport England funded project to embed system level change in Tower Hamlets and North East Lincolnshire to reduce barriers to physical activity for people severely affected by mental illness.  

I liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support the smooth running and delivery of project activity. I also support the wider team on physical health and activity related projects.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.

This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

The post is funded by MOPAC

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.

· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.

· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.

· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.

· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet

· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.

· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.

· Develop Barnet’s Safe Places Scheme for people with learning disabilities, autistic adults and adults-at-risk.

About the role

The postholder will have a unique opportunity to lead delivery of our communications strategy, supporting the delivery of our organisational objectives and ensuring we maximise our 20th anniversary year to raise IHP’s profile and grow our community.

You’ll manage a small, but fantastic team of committed communications professionals, whilst working alongside other teams to effectively tell IHP’s story, and the stories of those we serve. You’ll work with our fundraising team to collaborate on fundraising campaigns, our Corporate Partnerships team to engage pharmaceutical and logistics partners in new and exciting ways, and our Programmes team to work directly with NGO partners to gather content and demonstrate our impact through effective storytelling.

You will also be a part of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for setting the strategic vision and direction of the organisation. This is a temporary role as a maternity cover starting in July 2024.

What you’ll be working on

-  Lead on IHP’s 20th anniversary campaign including overseeing a pivotal stakeholder engagement event
-  Implement and embed IHP’s newly developed brand identity across the organisation and across external channels.
-Oversee the marketing strategy for our self-designed and revolutionary software system, Boaz, helping to reach new customers and position as a leader in its field.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders to develop communications opportunities and amplify IHP’s voice including employee engagement opportunities.
- Manage relationship with our social media agency to effectively execute IHP’s communications objectives and grow our audiences and engagement.
- Oversee the marketing delivery of our annual Christmas fundraising campaign.

Essential knowledge/transferable skills and experience:

• Demonstrable and successful communications experience
• Management level experience
• Marketing and brand awareness experience
• ​Knowledge of social media and how to utilise to maximise communication and engagement strength
• Proven track record of effective management of resources, including planning and coordination of staffing and budgetary resources
• Excellent IT skills to communicate effectively and efficiently

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with competing priorities, deadlines and targets

The following would be desirable:
