Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-5 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme. Recently we’ve focused on developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.
Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly. People with a learning disability, neurodiversity and their family carers are inclusively supported by social prescribers for advice and by health educators/coaches for health-related matters if needed.
Our current Executive Director, who has led Brent Mencap so well for 25 years wants to retire. · Represent the lived experiences and voices of people with learning disabilities, neurodivergence, long term conditions and their families who inform our work and the work of others in Brent
· Work late occasionally, attend evening events, meetings and occasional weekends and undertake any other necessary tasks as required to ensure Brent Mencap functions safely.
In order to deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is required and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Interview details
· A 4-part Interview with senior staff, self-advocates, operational managers and trustees, will take place at Brent Mencap on Friday 5th or 12th September 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be given a paper-based scenario to complete and send to us on the Thursday before the interview
· We anticipate the full interviews will take 2.5 hours with a 30-minute break at some point.

Salesforce Administration:
- Manage Salesforce CRM including user management, permissions, system configuration, and security

- Keep supporter records up to date including addresses, direct debit details, and preferences

This role:
This role will be responsible for managing the charities services and supporting the smooth and compliant operation of the charity’s operations. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing our services. A key part of your role will be acting as the Data Protection Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Management & Development
• Manage staff and services, ensuring high standards of delivery, efficiency, and positive outcomes for our clients and tenants.
• Lead on the service development of existing services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
• Work closely with the Head of Services and Operations to develop and implement new services in line with strategic objectives and identified needs.
• Ensure all services adhere to internal policies, external regulations, and best practice.
Data Protection and GDPR
• Act as the charity's Data Protection Lead, working with the CEO to ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation.
• Develop, implement, and monitor data protection policies, procedures, advising on and overseeing data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
• Oversee data security measures and conduct regular data audits.
• Oversee the secure storage, retention, and disposal of all personal data, both digital and physical
• Manage data subject access requests (SARs) and data breach incidents, ensuring timely and appropriate responses and reporting to the ICO where necessary.
• Ensure staff receive appropriate data protection training and maintain accurate records of compliance efforts.
Operational Management
• Lead on complaints, compliments, and comments management, overseeing the entire process from receipt and investigation to resolution and trend analysis for service improvement and reporting.
• Support the Head of Services and Operations with lease management for charity properties.
• Work closely with the Head of Services and Operations to support the charity's safeguarding function, acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead when required.
HR and Training and Development
• Work with SMT and support the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures (most of these are developed with our HR Support provider).
• Oversee the Finance Assistant & HR Administrator's HR responsibilities, ensuring efficient and compliant recruitment, onboarding, induction, and HR record-keeping.
• Provide support for HR processes for disciplinary and grievance matters, in line with the Charity’s policies.
• Work with the Head of Services and Operations to lead on the development and implementation of the charity's training and development strategy, identifying needs and overseeing delivery to enhance staff and volunteer capabilities.
Health and Safety
• Support the implementation and ongoing adherence to Health & Safety policies across all sites, fostering a safe environment for all.
• Oversee the Finance Assistant & HR Administrator responsibilities to ensure all staff and volunteers receive appropriate health and safety training and refreshers.
• Work with staff to ensure incidents are investigated, take the lead on analysing, and reporting. Working with the Head of Services and Operations, managers and Team Leaders ensure health and safety actions are logged and followed up appropriately.
• Oversee the maintaining of accurate records of all health and safety activities, training, and incidents and pull off and analyse reports for SMT and Board.
General
• To participate in the on-call out of hours decision making rota as required
• Contribute to the charity’s strategic objectives and operational plans.
• Represent the charity at relevant external meetings or forums as required.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times, upholding the charity’s values and ethos.
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision and appraisals as required.

Your role is to manage a range of Central Services for the Eikon Charity and to be a familiar constant presence in the Eikon offices. Central Services includes IT, Data Compliance, Health and Safety, Facilities. Facilities includes the site at Fullbrook and the associated site maintenance of the cabins and the garden. In addition to this you will line manage the reception function on site. A portion of the role will be managing outsourced providers who are accountable to support the specialist nature of these services. These outsource providers include Health and Safety (Croner) IT (ramsac) Data Protection (Satswana). You will also support the service data management work, this involves monthly reporting and service data provision, in accordance with the reporting calendar.
Responsibilities
IT Management
- Manage the operational IT delivery via Eikon’s IT partner (ramsac)
- Manage the continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure
- Oversee and direct the work and tasks of the data officer (IT support)
- Attend quarterly management meetings with outsourced IT provider including technical IT consultant visits
- Oversee Help Desk approvals
- Review monthly total IT estate in partnership with ramsac and Data Officer
- IT hardware, software and comms:
- Manage the relationship with repair partner (one touch) and disposal partner (CPR)
- Manage the procurement processes for hardware, the installation and allocation of hardware (e.g. printers, AV equipment, laptop, mobile devices, wifi infrastructure etc.) with the support of the Data Officer
- Manage the communications licenses with our comms partner (DRC)
- Oversee the MS license estate and allocation of MS software and our third party applications
- Contribute to planning and assist with the delivery of the IT roadmap
Data Protection and Management
- Manage data compliance in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations (GDPR), with support from the fractional data protection provider, Satswana
- Manage the relationship with Satswana (outsourced Data Protection Officer)
- Ensure Data Protection Impact Assessments are in place across the organisation
- Recording and reporting of routine data breaches, escalating if significant breach has occurred
Data Reporting (Services)
- Support with the provision of data to help monitor and evaluate all services in line with ambitions
- Collaborate with line manage on bespoke data requests
- Support the organisation in ensuring data integrity of reports
- Manage the monthly reporting templates (Mindworks outputs, Data Protection Impact Assessments, Internal outputs and Internal outcomes)
- Manage the quarterly reporting templates (Mindworks outcomes, Innovations Grant, Youth Support Practitioners end of term reporting, Fundraising Strategic reports, data for exec report and data for bespoke reporting requests)
- Responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to the Data Protection Policy
Fire, Health and Safety
- Responsible for fire, health and safety management and standards across the whole organisation, supported by a specialist organisation (Croner)
- Responsible for managing the Health and Safety relationships with the outsourced provider (Croner)
- Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Fire, Health and Safety Policy
- Ensuring Fire Health and safety procedures in place for the Fullbrook site
- Monitoring and where possible ensure the organisation is implementing the relevant policies, procedures and associated forms across the organisation for Fire, Health and Safety
- Raising Fire, Health and Safety risks and working collaboratively with Leadership to put in place measures to mitigate against them
Facilities
- Manage the facilities at Fullbrook, including the provision of reception roles and responsibilities, office and garden maintenance and support to onsite teams, interior and exterior décor – including noticeboards
- This includes line management of your team and dotted line supervision for garden club volunteers for garden maintenance; this includes managing the relationship with the gardening contractor
- Overseeing annual compliance checks. e.g Pat Testing; Smoke alarms; air conditioning units
- Managing the relationship with the outsourced cleaning contractor (Minster Cleaning Services)
- Responsible for reception cover. From time to time it may be necessary for you to support in filling gaps in reception cover. i.e. sickness/holidays/absence

About the role:
The Alcohol Behavioural Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioural change related to alcohol consumption.
As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.
Programme & Intervention Development

Work with the Head of operations to develop and implement personalised intervention strategies to help individuals reduce alcohol consumption, using evidence-based behavioural change techniques through our app and other digital tools.

Collaborate with lived experience panel and Independent Advisory Panel to create comprehensive alcohol-related behavioural health programmes.

Utilise your experience of motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based practices to promote lasting change in alcohol use behaviours across Drinkaware’s activity.

Stay up to date on the latest research in alcohol use, behavioural change methods to inform programme development and interventions.
Content & Communication

Work with the Marketing & Content team to produce engaging content for public audiences ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of advice and guidance in all Drinkaware messaging.

About you:
This role requires a deep understanding of psychological theories, behavioural science, and addiction, along with practical experience in behavioural interventions.
Qualifications and/or experience
- Degree or higher in Psychology, Behavioural change, Public Health, or a related field. Certification or training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other relevant therapeutic approaches is highly desirable.
Essential Criteria / Key Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioural science theories and experience of how to apply them to alcohol use, with proficiency in delivering behavioural change techniques.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing behavioural change interventions, particularly in the context of alcohol or addiction.
- Experience with digital health applications is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals at all stages of behavioural change.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess, plan, and implement effective behavioural change programmes.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in the health sector and have a passion for reducing alcohol harm in the UK.
- Experience working in partnership with internal and external agencies and organisation
- Experience of working collaboratively across internal departments and teams
- Knowledge of public health initiatives and policies related to alcohol use.
- Data analysis and program evaluation experience.
- Confident public speaker able to represent Drinkaware at events, conferences and in the media.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.

Health & Safety Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join our Estates Team. In your role as the Health & Safety Officer will be to provide support on an operational basis to the health & safety function.
Role Requirements
- Promote good stakeholder involvement and good safety culture
- Prepare and issue monthly health and safety briefing documents / toolbox talks
- Keep health and safety information up to date, including all fire safety documentation (fire emergency plans, fire safety manuals etc.), the health and safety section of the intranet and shared documents
- Carry out regular walkabouts, including at retail stores, keeping in touch with staff on their safety arrangements and ensuring control measures are in place and effective
- Provide health and safety training and coaching on topics such as, but not limited to, general health & safety (induction and refresher training), fire safety, COSHH, risk assessing and manual handling
- Develop and refresh internal online training to support staff learning experiences
- Carry out general risk assessment, as required, with particular emphasis on retail, regulatory requirements, outings and the clinical environment.
- Update fire risk assessments for low to medium-risk buildings, tracking completion of actions and updating compliance software
- Manage COSHH risk assessments and the COSHH risk register, checking on suitable PPE and storage
- Manage compliance with workstation assessments, including homeworking, using the external management system
- Support teams, enabling them to carry out their risk assessments, including manual handling assessments for inanimate activities
- Develop and keep up to date Safe Operating Procedures for health and safety.
- To undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

About the role
A new and exciting opportunity to work with us supporting the developments of active travel and liveable spaces for communities across the West Midlands.
As the Project Officer you will lead and support behaviour change projects across the West Midlands and Staffordshire with schools, workplaces, job seekers and communities. Engaging with a range of key individuals and delivering walking and cycling activities such as Dr Bike sessions, led walks and rides, school assemblies and community workshops.
As part of the Active Journeys Team, you will support people to walk, wheel and cycle by promoting opportunities and help overcome barriers to active travel. Projects will include improved walking and cycling infrastructure and making it possible for every child to walk, wheel and cycle to school.
Activities will be delivered both Online and face to face, and likely to include schools, workplaces and the diverse range of communities in the Midlands.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience of leading physical activity or other behaviour change projects within schools, workplaces or communities. You should also have experience of working on projects within an established project management framework.
You will have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload. You will be able to build and maintain strong relationships and a flexible and enthusiastic approach. With the ability to engage and support lesser heard voices in the community.
We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and relevant knowledge of the West Midlands and its diverse range of communities.

Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage support staff, working with service users in their homes. Be aware of and work to trauma informed principles and manage the service as a psychologically informed environment. Work closely with Causeway’s internal Housing Team to ensure residents are complying with the terms of their tenancy or licence agreements. Lead on client involvement within the service. To represent CIHA at external events and meetings when necessary.

You will work a combination of office, client-home, community, and home-based working. Causeway is a 4-day week employer, so you will work 32 hours over 4 days a week. Causeway is a London living wage employer. You will receive a 6% pension contribution, rising to 12% after two years service.
