This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician experienced in child mental health to deliver our ‘Clinical Practice in Context’ module, which forms part of the curriculum for our two-year full-time MSc programme in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice and consists of 2.5 hours of weekly lectures/seminars throughout Term 1 (usually 10 weeks in October-December). The MSc programme has an intake of around 18-20 students per year from a range of diverse and international backgrounds. In their second year, students have an opportunity to apply their clinical skills by undertaking a placement within a child and adolescent mental health setting, while continuing to attend lectures and seminars as well as conducting a clinically based research project. The Module Lead will work alongside the wider programme team, including the Programme Director, Tutors and other Module Leads. The successful candidate will have significant clinical experience working in child and adolescent mental health settings and experience of teaching/training adults. The ability to work flexibly and autonomously is essential to successfully deliver the module. About the Service

This is a pilot working as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

Purpose of Post

Providing advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and remain a source of independent support for all clients. Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly and that a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach is embedded approach in all aspects of the roles.

Service Objectives

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

About the Youth Crisis Service

Our Young Person’s Crisis Service offers a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment outside of normal school hours for those aged 14 – 17 who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

The Youth Mental Health Worker will support young people aged 14-18 to deescalate crisis and improve their mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured crisis interventions. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one-to-one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and well-being and to provide clarity on services and pathways available in the area. What we are looking for:

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

• Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
• Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role

About the role:

As our Mental Health Crisis Worker, you will be part of the Crisis Service working with and supporting men and women. This involves working with and alongside organisations within the Bristol Mental Health Partnership. This is a hub and spoke service with a 24 hour hub (providing a full crisis service across the city). You will therefore be required to work on a rota system including regular evenings and weekend working and must be able to drive and have access to an appropriate vehicle. You will be based at Southmead Hospital where the North Crisis Team is located.

The role is focused on providing a range of interventions to assist with daily health, social care and wellbeing needs to reduce the crisis, build resilience and improve wellbeing. You will be employed by Missing Link and seconded into our Bristol Mental Health Partnership and will therefore be operationally managed by AWP.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Mental Health Crisis Worker:

§  Build trusting and collaborative relationship with the service user

§  Work closely with carers, families and children and other services directly involved with service users, carers if appropriate

§  Carry out role adhering to Mental Health Bristol Partnership’s policies, procedures, values, code of conduct and current legislation using a Recovery orientated, psychologically informed, equalities based approach

§  Co-produce, update, implement and review a crisis plan, relapse prevention and other self-management tools

§  Implement the recovery plan and inform any review, working jointly with the Assessment and Recovery Team Recovery Navigator/Care Co-ordinator, in partnership with service users in line with best practice.

§  Coordinate support, refer and liaise effectively with all professionals, agencies and other parties involved in service user’s support in order to deliver the crisis support package

§  Enable delivery of the crisis and recovery plans and to enable service users to make informed decisions about their mental wellbeing, maximising their independence and providing advocacy role where appropriate

§  Provide specialist support to women using the service and advice and guidance to other team members regarding women’s mental health issues

§  Promote and facilitate service user involvement and inclusion within Mental Health Bristol and the community in line with Mental Health Bristol Partnership objectives

§  Manage caseload, documentation and time effectively, ensuring up to date, clear and accurate record keeping in line with MHB policies, making best use of supervision, training and staff development

The role
We’re looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to support us in the delivery and development of high quality volunteering across our organisation. You will champion and support volunteering in Citizens Advice and influence the position and profile of volunteering across the service. You’ll work closely with the Head of Volunteering to support the delivery of the new volunteering strategy, ensuring that stakeholders from across the organisation are engaged in its development. You’ll provide operational volunteer management direction and support and maintain high standards in volunteering through the provision of guidance, tools, information and training.

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, gig buddy, travel buddy scheme, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.

We are now looking for a committed individual to join our Professional Services team. The role holder will help to coordinate projects to increase skills, improve health, and build confidence and independence for our members with a learning disability. The role will involve project coordination of our exciting new Pioneering Good Health project and our award-winning Digital Inclusion project.  Please note that this role does not require an IT technician/specialist; a basic, every day, standard, all round understanding of using a laptop/device will suffice.

The post calls for an individual with excellent project coordination, administration, and communication skills. We need a resilient individual who thrives on regular face-to-face interaction with beneficiaries. We welcome applications from candidates with a background in coordinating projects in the charity sector or those who possess transferable skills.

The successful candidate will need to show a passion for empowering and raising the voices of people with learning disabilities.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training, increase hepatitis C awareness, and access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Working with the South West Peninsula ODN, The Hepatitis C Trust are now expanding this commitment through the introduction of the HCC (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) surveillance and early liver disease detection programme.

Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? Do you have experience of working within health services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by liver disease or supported those at higher risk of developing liver disease? 

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work on their own, engage with stakeholders and have a desire to make a difference in promoting liver screening in community settings, and by increasing access to specialist care services.

Working in partnership with local hospital and community outreach clinics, the post holder will ensure that patients are supported through initial liver assessment and ongoing surveillance as required. The post will coordinate delivery of educational and awareness workshops and promote the delivery of liver screening in community settings 

Working under the guidance of the South West Peninsula Peer Programme Manager, the post-holder will work alongside other identified partners to help develop a community outreach liver surveillance program and carry out HCC early detection activity and interventions across Plymouth.

We require a good standard of education, willingness to travel and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work. We are a patient-led organisation – you will be working in an environment where the patient/service user/client is placed at the centre of all that you do. This post will require extensive travel across the region and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.
