This is a self-employed position and you will be paid a sessional rate.
Our Service
NYAS provides mental health advocacy to individuals within mental health settings throughout the UK.
Our service provides independent advocacy to people within mental health hospitals and community-based settings. We support individuals to ensure their voice is heard regarding their care and treatment and that they are aware of their rights.
This also includes representing them during various meetings such as ward rounds and at multi-disciplinary team meetings. This role requires you to produce written reports to ensure that the views of patients are fully represented.

DO YOU HAVE:
Direct experience of working with children/young people or vulnerable adults in a social care or mental health setting.
Experience and understanding of child protection/vulnerable adult safeguarding procedures
Ability to maintain professionalism at all times
An understanding of the importance of listening to children/young people and vulnerable adults without bias or prejudice.
Ability to communicate in an effective way.
Ability to record concise case notes and produce good quality reports
You will need to evidence your skills using specific examples in your application meeting the criteria in the person specification.
Safeguarding and Training
You will be required to complete annual safeguarding and compliance training including, Personal Safety, Data Protection, Information Security, Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity.
You will be able to subscribe to an e-learning platform provided by NYAS. The platform will provide you with the opportunity to undertake a number of other professional courses that you can complete in your own time to maintain your own CPD.

About the role:
Join us at Single Homeless Project (SHP) as part of our Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service (LVAAS), delivering accommodation-based support across our properties in Brockley and New Cross. This is hands-on, day-to-day work alongside people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage, where no two days are the same. You’ll build real relationships with clients, supporting them to stabilise, develop life skills and move towards greater independence, while navigating the challenges that can come with housing, health and wider support needs.

In our Women’s Respite Service in Camden, you’ll be working with women who have faced abuse, exploitation and homelessness, often after systems have let them down. No two days will look the same. One moment you might be de-escalating a crisis, the next you’re advocating with services, or sitting alongside someone as they begin to make sense of what they’ve been through. You’ll hold a small but complex caseload, working intensively with women to build trust, navigate risk and move towards stability and independence. You won’t give up easily. You’ll stay curious, creative and persistent, even when progress feels slow or uncertain.

About the Role
We're looking for a Night Support Worker to join our night team in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our male residents and participants into the community. In this role, you will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to enable successful resettlement. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes.
Our Complex Needs Accommodation provides supported accommodation, bespoke person-centred care and support as well as intensive housing management services in the community for adults with specific accommodation and well-being support needs. You will ensure the smooth running of the night service by conducting welfare checks, supporting residents, and handling any issues that arise. The role includes completing administrative tasks and providing thorough handovers with day staff and managers to maintain consistent service.

- Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
- Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities

We are seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) or Low Intensity Psychological Worker to support survivors of sexual trauma and their loved ones through evidence-based, low‑intensity psychological interventions.
You will work closely with a wide network of main contacts and partners, including PCFT GM Resilience Hub, TRC, Greater Manchester Rape Crisis, Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH), local authority partners, third‑sector organisations, multi‑disciplinary teams, service users and carers, and services across the adult mental health pathway.
The role operates across three sites within Greater Manchester, making the ability and willingness to travel between sites essential. You will work flexibly in partner organisation settings and in the community, collaborating with individuals, carers and multi‑agency providers to assess and identify social care needs that may present barriers to clients addressing their sexual trauma.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver evidence‑based, low‑intensity interventions for survivors of sexual harm and their loved ones
- Support clients through effective engagement, communication and practical coordination
- Work collaboratively with the Community Development team, counsellors and volunteers to ensure survivors can access appropriate and timely support
- Manage communication between clients, partners and services, contributing to joined‑up, trauma‑informed care
- Assist in supporting and working alongside volunteers where required

You will be a qualified and experienced practitioner with a background in mental health, trauma‑informed practice and engagement. About the Service
The Community Outreach Worker plays a vital role in delivering the Physical Health Checks programme for individuals with severe mental illness (SMI). This position focuses on engaging hard-to-reach individuals, facilitating health checks in healthcare settings, community settings, and supporting follow-up care to enhance physical health outcomes. The post holder will collaborate with health professionals and stakeholders to reduce health inequalities and promote recovery
About the Role
The role ensures that individuals with severe mental illness receive timely and effective physical health checks, overcoming barriers to engagement and supporting continuity of care. The post holder will provide proactive outreach to improve health outcomes, promote engagement with primary care and support individuals to access and sustain appropriate health and community-based support.
The post holder will manage their workload independently, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure high standards of service delivery. They will also contribute to monitoring and reporting to support the success and sustainability of the Physical Health Checks programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the Physical Health Checks programme
- Target and engage individuals on GP mental health registers who are difficult to reach
- Deliver physical health checks in healthcare and community settings, supported accommodation, day centres, and through home visits
- Follow up on health check results and liaise with GPs and social prescribers for onward referrals

You will support a dispersed workforce who may be based at home, one of our properties, a location within the community or in the remote countryside where personal safety and emergency procedures need to be considered.
Alongside your work in North Scotland you will provide remote support to UK wide departments and teams, which may include supporting projects, events and collaborating with your HSE colleagues.
Your workload will include delivering site inspections to check compliance against internal and legal standards, deliver information and training, review incident data, complete investigations and compile and present reports to management teams. You will support the development and review of health & safety procedures and work with teams to support their implementation.
