About the role

The Housing Programme Senior Officer will lead the delivery of NZF’s Housing Partnerships Programme (HPP) pilot, supporting Muslims facing housing insecurity across the UK. This role combines programme coordination with frontline grant administration, ensuring housing support is delivered with care, efficiency and Sharia compliance.

You will manage housing partnerships, oversee reporting and budgets, and provide direct support to applicants. You’ll also help demonstrate the real impact of Zakat through a partnership-based housing support model.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of the HPP pilot and ensure milestones are met

About the role:

Reporting to the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for proactively generating significant income from five and six figure corporate partnerships by managing the new business pipeline, identifying new opportunities, building relationships and networking with key stakeholders and producing compelling applications and creative partnership proposals.

Records Manager & Archivist

The duties within this unique role will be shared across the main London offices of the Methodist Church in Britain and United Reformed Church. The successful candidate will be a suitably qualified and experienced records and archives management professional, who is confident to work across our different sites and systems. You will be a knowledgeable manager of analogue and digital records and archives.  Some familiarity with Church structures and record keeping would be an advantage.

You will need to be able to advise the staff teams for both Churches on records management strategy and practice and support them in the implementation of electronic records management systems (ERMS). You will also be able to undertake collections management tasks such as appraisal, condition assessments, basic cleaning and re-packaging and cataloguing.

You will need to be able to liaise effectively with the archive services where our collections are deposited, and work with our voluntary heritage committees and archival advisers. You will be encouraged to appoint and manage volunteers to build capacity around this work.

The Methodist Church has records from the early 18th century onwards. Its governance records (estimated at c4m items) are deposited in the John Rylands Research Institute & Library, University of Manchester, and its missionary collections in the SOAS Library, University of London.  Records of the Church at a local level are deposited with local authority archive services.  There are also five ‘community archives’ managed by volunteer editors. 

The United Reformed Church was established in 1972, with its roots in the Presbyterian and Congregational Churches. The search for a new location for the centralised deposit and permanent preservation of URC records is a key objective for this post-holder, along with developing and supporting the management of current administrative records. 

Both organisations maintain offsite record storage and occasional travel to them will be a necessary part of this role.

Job Purpose: The Family Outreach worker plays a vital role in supporting the families of clients to enhance their stability, wellbeing, and access to essential services. About the Church Commissioners

Established in 1948, The Church Commissioners works to support the Church of England's ministry.

The main aspects to the work of the Church Commissioners are as follows:

Managing the endowment fund

The Investments team of c. 85 colleagues manages the Church's permanent endowment fund. This £11.1 billion fund (as at 31st December 2024) is one of the largest in the country and has its origins in Queen Anne's Bounty, which was established in 1704.

The fund represents a diverse investments portfolio, which is managed with a strong focus on responsible and ethical investments that enable the funding support for the Church of England to grow in line with agreed investment return targets.

Church-Facing Commissioner Teams

There are three Church-facing Commissioner Teams:

• The Church Buildings team of c. 35 colleagues supports dioceses and parishes with the care, conservation and development of historic church buildings, advises on permissions for changes to church buildings and provides guidance on architectural and heritage matters. It helps churches adapt for worship and community use and works with government to advise on policies that affect church buildings;
• The Mission & Pastoral Services team of c. 10 colleagues supports the creation, merger and closure of parishes and benefices. It oversees the adjustment of parish boundaries, supports dioceses on the legal framework for pastoral change, and handles the legal steps when a church building is no longer required for public worship, including finding suitable alternative uses or disposal;
• The Bishoprics & Cathedrals team of c. 40 colleagues advises on the provision of suitable housing and office accommodation for diocesan bishops and archbishops, funding bishops' working costs, and supporting cathedrals in their governance and sustainability. It also oversees , the historic library and record office of the Archbishops of Canterbury and the main archive for the documentary history of the Church of England.

Central Support and Governance

Overall, there are c. 10 colleagues in the Central support and governance team:

• The Commissioners' Secretariat team supports the Chief Executive, senior trustees and Board in all aspects of their governance;
• The Engagement Manager is responsible for working closely with a wide variety of Commissioners' teams to help ensure that the Church Commissioners has effective engagement with a wide variety of Stakeholders;
• The Strategic Programme management team varies in size depending on the strategic projects currently underway (see below for further details).

Church of England Central Services (ChECS)

The Church Commissioners is supported by a number of key enabling teams which are part of the Church of England Central Services. This NCI consists of Finance, Assurance, Technology, Data, Project Management, Communications and Legal teams. The ChECS team is c. 150 colleagues.

The Church Commissioners is accountable to Parliament, General Synod and, as a registered charity, to the Charity Commission. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the Commissioners' Chair and the current Deputy Chair is the Bishop of Salisbury. Three of the Commissioners' trustees are known as Church Estates Commissioners (CECs), who will be key stakeholders for this role. The First CEC chairs the Assets (investment) Committee and the Second CEC is an MP who helps exercise accountability to Parliament. Both are appointed by HM The King on the advice of the Prime Minister. The Third CEC chairs committees that oversee the work of the Church-facing Commissioner Teams and is appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Director of Strategy and Engagement has direct responsibility for Central Support and Governance, comprising the Commissioners' Secretariat (4 colleagues), the Engagement Manager and the Strategic Programme Management team (c. 5 colleagues). Additional Strategic Programme team members may be added as further strategic projects are commissioned.

Strategic focus

• Support the Chief Executive and Board with the development, articulation and delivery of the Commissioners' strategic business plan to enable it to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England, engaging widely and authentically in so doing;
• Act as a close adviser and sounding board for the Chief Executive and leadership team, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely advice, briefings and presentations;
• Assist in developing and delivering plans and projects to give life to the business plan.

Communications and stakeholder engagement

• Advise on, and support, stakeholder engagement. Develop and implement engagement and communications strategies for key stakeholders and leaders, e.g., bishops, parliamentarians, dioceses and General Synod (the Church's legislative and deliberative body). This includes major projects and programmes of work and liaison with the Communications team;
• Champion the views of key stakeholders and beneficiaries within the Commissioners, helping to ensure that business plans and projects reflect the perspectives of the wider Church.

Project support

• Manage complex or sensitive strategic projects and issues, thinking through the consequences of those projects, decisions and communications, including considering reputation matters.
• Facilitate the implementation of change plans, working closely with the Commissioners' leadership team and other NCI executive team colleagues.
• Support the implementation of cross-NCI programmes from the Commissioners' perspective;
• Use the Project and Programme Methodology adopted by the Church Commissioners and participate in current project governance structures - working with the PMO to continue to improve this.

Provide leadership and support to project teams, including:

• the Programme Spire team (which is managing a multi-year research programme to understand and respond to the charity's historic links to African chattel enslavement);
• any changes to the organisational structure for the Church Commissioners, ensuring they are provided with appropriate performance targets and support. This should be done working closely with the appropriate Finance and People teams.

Leadership and wider context

• Keep up to date with current events, trends and concerns which might affect the work of the Commissioners, NCIs and the wider Church;
• Support the wider Church as a senior leader, contributing to the development of the NCIs. Draw connections between operational activities in different teams, and with other NCI activities where appropriate.

• A salary of c.£95,000 plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You may work within a Hospital Trust's Safeguarding Team to support both patients and staff in an Acute Hospital setting, who have experienced Domestic Abuse. You will make initial contact with victims of domestic abuse, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess risks and needs using evidence-based checklists.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. We’ve transformed from being an enthusiastic start-up delivering care in the community, to a serious player delivering major impact both in the community and at our state-of-the-art hospice building, The Ark, opened in 2019.

Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore be instrumental in taking this key income stream forward, add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next development phase.

The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust environment, sustaining and growing income from Trusts will remain vital.

The post-holder will manage a Philanthropy Officer (Trusts & Major Donors) and, together, they will be instrumental in taking the Trust programme to the next level, establishing lasting relationships with funders, securing new grants, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications and reports. They will also support the Philanthropy Officer, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a highly organised, dedicated and reliable individual ready to play a significant role in income generation. An exceptional and eloquent communicator, excellent at managing your time and a natural relationship builder. You will have a collaborative mindset, and be willing to engage with colleagues across the fundraising team and wider charity to create the greatest outcomes for the children and families we support.

You will have considerable experience fundraising from grant makers and will be able to demonstrate your success with securing high value gifts and building meaningful relationships. You will have confidence in your ability to make an impact through collaborative lateral thinking. You will also support other team members with their applications, as well as acting as a key liaison with our Care team to obtain latest information about service delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

Our FOOD (Food On Our Doorstep) programme aims to: provide regular access to a sustainable supply of food to people at risk of food insecurity; encourage families to access local support services and be signposted to other agencies; increase disposable income for local families to improve life chances and wellbeing; reduce the amount of food being sent to landfill in the UK by utilising surplus food.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day running of the programme to ensure the clubs have high standards of service delivery.

2. Supporting the FOOD Club Coordinator to carry out regular compliance checks to ensure the quality and safety of the service, in order to protect service users and Family Action.

3. Ensuring all aspects of the role are carried out in line with food safety/hygiene standards.

4. Ensure volunteers are using up-to-date allergies forms to prevent any risk to service users.

5. Support the FOOD Club Coordinator with financial checks, stock control, recruitment, induction and training of volunteers.

6. Recording accurate data to enable the FOOD Club Coordinator to report on KPIs, including uptake of the scheme, service user income, and the positive financial impact on families.

7. Encourage regular attendance at FOOD Clubs to ensure income is maintained and to prevent food wastage.

8. Provide regular feedback to the FOOD Club Coordinator on the quality of food and resources from suppliers.

The role of the Learning & Development Officer is to provide a consistent and high level of both operational delivery and administrative support by updating training information and maintaining training systems and processes. Role Requirements

• Maintain efficient administration systems that facilitate the smooth operation of the training function with the wider Organisational Development Team.
• Serve as the first point of contact for all enquiries directed to the Learning & Development Team, providing information and assistance as needed
• Oversee the management of the team inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses to enquiries while taking ownership of all queries
• Process and oversee internal training bookings using Select HR (our HR System)

• Planning and organising ‘ad hoc’ training sessions as and when required
• Prepare monthly induction programme including training memos, induction folders, session materials, catering requests & induction evaluations.
• Deliver brief Training session to new starters and help with tours where necessary
• Deliver appraisee training via teams
• Prepare for training sessions, including sending reminders, organising session materials, catering, room and equipment set up
• Create monthly training and PDR reports and chasing compliance where necessary working with line managers.
• Produce ‘due dates’ and other relevant training reports for managers as requested
• Deliver all training related activities for new starters.

Overall purpose

The Employment Advisor (EA) plays a key role in supporting refugees and people from refugee backgrounds to progress towards and secure sustainable employment. The EA provides tailored employment advice and guidance, helping clients build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to navigate the UK job market. This role will work with clients at various stages of their employment journey, with a particular focus on those in the earlier stages of understanding career options, developing employability skills, and exploring education, training, and volunteering opportunities.

The EA will deliver one-to-one and group-based employability support, collaborate with employers and volunteers to source opportunities for clients, and maintain strong relationships with referral and support partners to ensure a holistic approach to employment support.

Key Responsibilities

1) Client Support

• Provide tailored one-to-one support to clients, helping them understand the UK labour market, define career goals, and develop employability skills. This could be in-person or online depending on client needs.

3) Service Delivery and Administration

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes in the CRM system.

• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, making appropriate referrals and ensuring clients receive the support they need.
• Support managers with additional projects, such as research, resource development, and service improvements.
