The team is currently looking to appoint an interim Service Manager to oversee a team of youth practitioners delivering an emotional wellbeing & mental health (EWMH) drop-in service in Gateshead. This role is initially a temporary opportunity for 12 weeks, with the potential of extension.
 
As Service Manager you will oversee a team of dedicated youth practitioners, delivering one to one emotional wellbeing and mental health support to a variety of vulnerable young people, predominantly on a drop-in basis. You will lead, develop and coordinate the service, including community-based workshops, advice and signposting, and brief/structures interventions. You will ensure that delivery is clinically informed, safe and aligned with agreed service specifications.
 
To apply, you will have significant experience of delivering frontline services for vulnerable people (ideally young people) and will have demonstrable experience of overseeing delivery staff. You will have the ability to act creatively and respond to new and challenging situations, and will have experience of coordinating working patterns, including on-call rotas. Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to services for young people, specifically around emotional wellbeing, mental health and exploitation is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Leadership Team in planning, developing, testing, and implementing all elements of the Frontline Improvement Project.

• Lead designated workstreams and maintain strong communication between teams and stakeholders.

This is a full‑time position working 35 hours per week on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will require occasional travel typically a few times per month to PDSA sites for visits or team meetings.

This is a new role to sit in a fast paced and growing fundraising team.  Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy and Major Gifts Manager, this role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of mid-level funders, develop compelling funding applications, support the stewardship of high-value funders, and ensure accurate reporting and data compliance.

General Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and supporting all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will oversee all the adult ITRS team and be instrumental in developing and sustaining networks, partnerships and new networks across Devon.  You will be responsible to the Head of Service and be part of the service manager team working closely alongside the other service managers.

Alongside your service manager colleagues, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery, development, and oversight of high-quality services for individuals impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, as well as for those who use harmful behaviours. You will be part of a team managing a diverse portfolio of services spanning prevention, crisis intervention, behaviour change, survivor recovery, and professional training. These include in-person interventions and digital platforms, therapeutic services and outreach across all age groups and communities.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our services are trauma-responsive, culturally competent and inclusive, with a strong focus on safeguarding, survivor voice and best practice. You will support teams to deliver consistently excellent support, ensure contract compliance and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a changing landscape.

As part of the Service Manager team, you will also hold strategic responsibility in scoping new projects, supporting research and business development opportunities. You will also ensure that the wellbeing and development of our people is at the front of our management and leadership priorities.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will have experience working with health professionals in a management or training capacity, and a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practice and managing risk. This service takes an innovative approach to both delivering training to GP surgeries and providing therapeutic support to patients referred to us via surgeries who have received our training.

The role

We are seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for our busy Highgate charity shop. This hands-on retail role is ideal for someone who enjoys charity retail, thrives on initiative, is motivated to take on responsibility for shop performance, and is passionate about working with volunteers and supporting a meaningful cause.

About the role

• Support the Shop Manager with the day-to-day running of the shop, taking an active role in maximising income and Gift Aid.
• Provide consistently high standards of customer and donor service, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Drive sales, maintain strong retail and merchandising standards, and contribute to meeting targets.
• Oversee stock processing: sort, quality-check, price, rotate, and creatively merchandise items.
• Assist in recruiting, training, motivating, and supporting a diverse team of volunteers and trainees.
• Take on supervisory and leadership responsibilities in the Shop Manager’s absence.
• Carry out cash handling, till reconciliation, banking, and basic admin, including Gift Aid systems.

About you

• Retail experience with responsibility for sales and operations, ideally in a charity or not-for-profit environment.

About African Rainbow Family

African Rainbow Family (ARF) is a UK-based, lived-experience-led grassroots organisation working with and for LGBTIQ+ refugees and people seeking asylum of African heritage and the Global Majority.

ARF was founded in 2014 in response to the criminalisation and persecution of LGBTIQ+ people across parts of Africa and the Commonwealth. The organisation provides advocacy, peer support, advice, training and counselling, while campaigning locally, nationally and internationally to challenge injustice and promote equality and human rights.

About the Role

The Operations Manager role is a new and senior position within African Rainbow Family and will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational development.

The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the organisation, managing staff and volunteers, ensuring effective service delivery and leading on income generation and funding applications.

The role works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Trustees, staff, volunteers and external stakeholders to ensure ARF operates effectively, sustainably and in line with its values and objectives.

The postholder will be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of African Rainbow Family, ensuring efficient and effective organisational delivery

• Line managing staff and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, supervision and performance management

• Managing organisational budgets and monitoring expenditure against agreed targets
