Your commitment will ensure that vulnerable patients can access essential medical appointments on time with ease and comfort.
As a volunteer, you'll be the friendly face that patients rely on during their journey to appointments. Your role is simple yet profoundly impactful: providing safe and reliable transportation, while offering reassurance and support during a challenging time in their lives.
No prior experience is necessary - just bring your caring attitude, a 4-5 door car, and some spare time. Whether you're available from the crack of dawn or prefer flexible hours that fit around your schedule, every contribution counts.

Other duties include:
- Drive patients to non-emergency appointments
- Assist individuals in accessing vital hospital services
- Coordinate with our dispatch teams for seamless operations
- Foster positive relationships within the community
- Enjoy the autonomy of volunteering independently while knowing you have the backing of a supportive team
What we're looking for:
- A valid driving licence with (no more than 6 penalty points)
- A friendly and empathetic demeanour
- Access to a 4 door (minimum) car
- Alignment with our organization's values
- Basic IT skills (like the use of smartphone)
What happens after you apply for this opportunity
After you apply, a member of our team will contact you to go through ha simple screening process to learn more about your background, discuss the role in more detail and give you an opportunity to ask questions about the role.
If it’s a good fit, we’ll invite you to a face-to-face meeting where we’ll check your car, review your documents and explain the next steps. From there, we’ll arrange your training, help you complete a DBS check and make sure you’re confident and ready to begin.
Please be aware that this role will be subject to several regulatory pre-employment checks, including references and DBS which could take 4 to 8 weeks.

As Football Session Helper Volunteer you will help the facilitator/s with pre-session tasks and delivery of exciting football sessions while adhering to the FA code of conduct. We are currently seeking applications to support our newly launched football sessions and potentially coach/manage our Football Club’s (West London NHS Peer FC) team if an FA qualified coach or willing to get the qualification.

We are seekingPhysician Associates to respond to and manage emergency calls/incidents whilst attending events. At all times provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to undertake clinical assessment and interventions those individuals in the pre-hospital environment, which may include stadia, concerts, motorsports, road races etc. This may encompass working on both ambulances / FRV’s and within treatment units as required.

Our inpatient ward at Martlets helps us care for our patients and their families. The ward, comprising of two wings, has 14 bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and access to outside spaces. The rooms are designed to be calming and comfortable. The inpatient ward has a dedicated team of specialist doctors and nurses supported by health care assistants. Some people choose to spend their final weeks with us. However, most patients can go home once we have their symptoms under control.
Our reception desk is the first point of call for all visitors, and we are looking for volunteers to help carry out a range of reception duties ensuring everyone is greeted with a warm welcome. This role is weekend cover only, doing a half day Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon.

This role will require an in-person interview, which will take place provisionally in Birmingham City Centre. Interview dates/times will be emailed to you should your application be successful. Please ensure that you are able to attend an in person interview in Birmingham before submitting your application.
Volunteers would be expected to commit 100 hours of volunteering a year in a clinical capacity. They will also be expected to keep in regular contact with their line manager and keep up to date with their training.
Once your screening for role has been completed, you will be invited to attend your local St John Ambulance Network for a Welcome and Induction.
Training for this role consists of online learning modules and a 6 day in-person course, normally spread across three weekends. Your local Network will support you through the training process.
