Advocacy Manager
Location – Remote from the UK with regular travel to Manchester and London
Starting Salary - £40,416 per annum (plus contributory pension)
MAG saves lives and builds futures by working with others to reclaim land contaminated with the debris of conflict, to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians, and to create safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines for our work to ban landmines. We are looking for an exceptional Advocacy Manager to work within our Policy and Strategic Partnerships team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic international charity that shared the 1997 Nobel Peace-Prize.
You will be working with the Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships in the development and delivery of MAG’s advocacy work, including leadership of MAG’s UK parliamentary engagement, and contribution to the European and US engagement strategies.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of engaging and influencing UK parliamentarians, including the House of Commons and House of Lords, in support of advocacy objectives through a variety of tactics. You will have up-to-date knowledge of the UK political scene, and key players for MAG’s focus areas, knowledge of UK parliamentary processes and influencing tactics. You will also have a proven track record of meeting targets and deadlines and an ability to build, manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders. Excellent coordination and communication skills will also be essential.
The role will involve travel in the UK and Internationally.

The Role
You will be a part of the youth service working on the local council sites and a community centre in Wakefield and Bradford, where you will build trusted relationships with young members (age range 5 to 17). Working with families living on site, with some engagement (outreach) of young people living on yards, in houses and potentially roadside. You will get to know them, their goals, talents and challenges and together with them, you will build an ongoing programme of activities.
The youth work programme through weekly group work and regular 1-1 sessions, covers such key issues and topics such as mental health, education, relationships, staying safe, human rights and future hopes. The sessions are planned around building key core skills such as building confidence, leadership and team building skills, positive communication and joint decision making.
The youth service supports young people to be less isolated, have better connections to opportunities, have greater pride and the opportunity to celebrate their ethnicity and pride. Developing partnerships with organisations who can bring their projects to our young people and support them to access opportunities off site.
About You
You will be confident to work in a busy, fast paced, community facing environment that is committed to person-centred working, with active listening skills and an empathetic approach. You will be resilient and adaptable, and enjoy working in a role with competing priorities and deadlines.
Knowledge and experience;
- Have at least 2 years experience of working with young people, either as an employee, volunteer.
- Have experience of delivering group work for children and young. (Co-production and involving young people in session design and delivery)
- Have some experience in keeping records and designing session plans.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding principles, policies and procedures
- Have skills in building trusted relationships and developing children and young peoples strengths

Sitting within the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) department, the Sporting Events Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing over £3.5m income from individuals and groups fundraising through mass participation events including The London Marathon, International Marathons, The Great North Run, Threshold Events and more!
As one of two Sporting Event Managers, you will join a busy and successful team of 10 responsible for the delivery and optimisation of our events portfolio. We are looking for an exceptional individual, who will lead on the planning, project management and delivery of ARUK’s flagship third-party events, including London Landmarks, Own Place in Event Fundraising and challenge events.
This is a line management role, currently responsible for 4 direct reports and the strategic oversight of the events they manage. You will work closely with the other Sporting Event Manager to ensure consistency with supporter stewardship, manage budgets and support in financial planning, review team capacity and identify and manage priorities throughout the event calendar year, ensuring efficiency and a first-class supporter experience, with an overall goal of maximising income for dementia research.
You will be an integral part of the SLF Managers Team, helping drive our ambitious organisation growth and ultimately helping us find a cure. The role is managed by the Head of Sporting Events & Volunteering (HoSV).
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Line Management
· Line management of the high performing 2x Sporting Events Officers and 2x Sporting Events Executives; inspiring and driving their success to ensure they remain highly motivated in their roles, achieve their targets and play a key part in the performance of the wider Sporting Events Team, and Alzheimer’s Research UK.
· Monitor, review, and empower direct reports to ensure effective communication across the wider team and with key stakeholders e.g. volunteering, RFO’s and wider SLF.
· Support your direct line reports in their development, helping them to spot opportunities for growth.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Manage the Sporting team’s income and expenditure budget, including monthly reporting, and supporting HoSV with monthly reforecasts, and annual budget and operational plan setting.
· Review participation and income against event targets to track impact, ROI and cost income ratio and report back to HoSV regularly.
· Ensure the fundraising CRM (salesforce) is being used effectively to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.
· Use data insights and trends to support the HoSV in budgeting, forecasting and event portfolio reviews.
· Continue to review and be willing to change Sporting Event Team processes and contribute to wider organisational process changes where necessary.
· Support the embedding of our CRM system: Salesforce, including writing processes and ensuring CRM best practice across the team.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with our third-party event providers and identify new opportunities and ensure all avenues are being optimised for ARUK.
· Identify and steward alongside the Regional Fundraising Officers’ high-value supporters to ensure we are spotting opportunities beyond their current event.
· Work collaboratively within SLF, to ensure all fundraising opportunities are shared and communicated and resources are available.
· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to brief in marketing requirements, share trends, learnings, and results to optimise future activities.
· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments and work together as a management team to support on the strategic direction of ARUK, as well as deliver any tactical projects.
· Support and consult with any cross functional teams to deliver our third-party events portfolio.
Strategy & Operational Planning
· Work in consultation with the HoSV to develop the sporting events strategy and annual tactical plan for ARUK to continue to build income in this area.
· Work with HoSV to further develop our events strategy for 2026 onwards.
· Stay abreast of sector sporting events activity to ensure effective positioning and marketing of events.
Stewardship and Supporter experience:
· Plan and deliver an excellent communications journey for sporting event participants including exploring new technologies and how we can talk to our supporters in the way most effective and relevant to them- whether that be email, phone, face to face or SMS. Whilst also ensuring it aligns with wider stewardship goals with the charity and future cross-sell asks.
· Attend third-party events and oversee appropriate staff and volunteer representation to give the maximum brand presence and give the supporters the best possible event day experience e.g. Cambridge Half, London Marathon, London Landmarks, Great North Run and any other events where we need staff.
· Work with the wider SLF team to share best practise, ‘surprise and delight’ success and re-engagement activity to help drive long-term loyalty.
· Work with Regional Fundraising Officers, Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships teams to pass over warm and relevant supporters at the best points in their individual stewardship journeys.
· Work alongside Data and Insights Teams to understand the potential lifetime value of our sporting events participants and ensure opportunities are developed for supporters to hold a long-term fundraising relationship with ARUK.
What we are looking for:
· Experience of delivering mass participation fundraising, in particular managing high-profile/ large third-party event partnerships
· Great knowledge and passion for building excellent supporter relationships and ensuring supporters feel valued and thanked appropriately.

In 2023, YWF trained a group of young people as researchers, empowering them to lead the way in understanding the challenges and opportunities facing Westminster’s young people. Their work shaped our flagship report Our City. Our Future. which highlighted the urgent need for young people to be able to confidently shape their futures.
As a result of these findings, we collaborated with an additional group of young people to co-create Power UP! – a whole framework of opportunities providing training, mentorship, internships, youth associate roles and trusteeships to ensure youth voices are central to shaping decisions in both our organisation and in Westminster as a whole.

- YEP! - 3-month engagement and skills development programme that uses external facilitators to help develop young participants skills in key areas of YWF's work.

Your Role

- Coordinate Power UP! - Plan, manage, and deliver activities including youth-led research, grant-making, internships and leadership opportunities.

The Head of Communications is one of two senior leadership roles in a wider Engagement team, which in December 2024 won Team of Year in the prestigious CharityComms Inspiring Communicator Awards. Working in partnership with our Head of Brand Marketing, you’ll build on that success, bringing a collaborative approach as we evolve our objectives and ways of working. You’ll play a key role as we mark DofE’s 70th birthday in 2026, then pivot to a new organisational strategy for 2026-31.
Critically, you will lead and shape the engagement of our network of almost 5,000 licensed organisations, 38,000 amazing volunteers and more than half a million participants, working closely with senior Operations colleagues. You’ll oversee staff communications, media and PR, and lead on corporate and crisis comms. Members of your team deliver our Youth Ambassadors programme and crucial support for DofE’s Fundraising and External Affairs.
We’re looking for someone who is versatile – able to switch between the big picture and the detail, with antennae equally alert to risks and opportunities. You’ll be an accomplished diplomat and influencer, with an ability to spot and make connections within and beyond the team. Given the breadth of the role, the successful candidate would ideally bring prior experience of different elements of the brief, together with proven experience of team leadership.

The Role
As our Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will be responsible for stock control and stock movement between our Donation Centre and Warehouse and organising deliveries for van drivers to take stock to our shops. This should all be done in accordance with all health and safety regulations. The sorting of donations quickly and efficiently is a fundamental part of this role, and it is expected that a significant proportion of working time will be spent doing this.
Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) you will support the management of the volunteer team; the organisation of the weekly logistics, communication to the retail teams regarding their deliveries, and ensuring that any requests for specific stock or returns are well managed.
Specifically, you will:
- Lead the team of employees and volunteers to quickly and efficiently sort donated stock.
- Be responsible for ensuring that donated stock is stored appropriately and safely.
- Identify if any specific donated stock suits the profile/demographics of specific shops in the retail network and ensure that those items are ringfenced and delivered in a timely manner to maximise income for the charity.
- Support the Warehouse Operations Manager (Donations) in managing the daily running of the Donation Centre and warehouse, maintaining policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for planning and administering the weekly logistics, to ensure stock is collected and delivered to the network of shops, and to plan for collections from donors’ homes.
- Support the management of the volunteer rota on a weekly basis to ensure that both the Donation Centre and warehouse are fully operational during opening hours, and minimise lone working.
- Support the management of Donation Centre and warehouse volunteers: This will include recruiting, inducting, managing, motivating, and training to ensure a positive working environment.
- Play an active role as the Duty Manager for the building that you are in, in line with the expectations and requirements of the Business Continuity Plan, and run the site in line with brand standards, and the applicable charity policies and procedures.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- To be trained as a First Aider and Fire Marshal.
- To be ideally educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- To have experience of managing people and volunteers including recruitment and development.
- To have previous experience in a warehouse or distribution role, ideally within a retail or charity environment.
- To have commercial awareness to help build and drive sales coupled with the determination and motivation to help build and drive our retail distribution network.
- To have knowledge and experience of effective stock rotation and management.

About the role:
The Children & Young People Worker will be based in our Brent service and hold responsibility for delivering one to one and group work services for children of the age of 5 – 18 years, where there is domestic abuse perpetrated from one parent to another or in the household. The post holder will provide support and advocacy for young people and identify and improve referral pathways for those experiencing domestic violence and abuse to access ongoing support.
The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse as its effects on women and children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and young people’s sectors. As an experienced children and young people’s advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis, and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with children survivors of domestic abuse and working with young people and children in face-to-face and group-work is essential for this post as is working within safeguarding principles and promoting a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Reporting into a highly respected and ambitious Head of Philanthropic Partnerships—who joined in September 2024—this is a rare opportunity to play a defining role in the early stages of building a major donor programme for one of football’s most recognised global brands.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships to develop and implement a long-term major donor strategy.
- Identify, research, and engage prospective major donors.
- Cultivate and manage high-value relationships, leading on face-to-face solicitations.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand funding needs and develop compelling cases for support.
- Ensure excellent donor stewardship, including regular reporting and impact updates.
- Maintain accurate records using CRM systems and support wider fundraising activities where needed.
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience in securing significant philanthropic gifts.
- Strong track record in developing donor pipelines and writing compelling funding proposals.
- Confidence and credibility in managing high-level relationships.
- Skilled at working independently, with initiative and focus.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
- Strong understanding of donor stewardship and fundraising best practice.

It operates across urban and rural communities in Scotland and is one of the largest, most established children’s charities in the country. This year it celebrates 150 years of providing a wide range of services, including support for children with disabilities, assistance for families affected by substance misuse, early years intervention, residential care, and help for young people transitioning out of care.
We are now seeking an outstanding Chief Executive to build on a proud legacy and to lead Aberlour’s ongoing development. Our next Chief Executive will be an inspiring, values-driven leader, who embodies compassion and respect. Leading a talented senior team, they will provide sound stewardship of the charity’s resources and reputation and will work closely with the Board of Trustees to steer the next phase of our development.
Principal Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, the Senior Leadership Team and staff, develop and ensure the effective implementation of a vision and strategy for Aberlour that satisfies the core purpose.
- Provide advice and support to Board Members to ensure that the Board fulfils its corporate and statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement an annual business plan and budget that provide a framework for the achievement of organisation objectives.
- With the Chair and Committee leads, develop a reporting schedule covering all key performance indicators for Board discussion and decision.
- Build relationships with politicians, the media and government officials to advance the aims of Aberlour.
- Lead and manage the executive team, ensuring their professional performance and development needs are addressed.
- Maintain effective networks with all principal supporters and stakeholders. This will require an ambassadorial role on behalf of Aberlour, attending events, speaking on platforms and being the face of the organisation. At all times seek opportunities to expand and promote the role of Aberlour.
- Be cognisant of risks and changes in the external environment that could impact on Aberlour.
- Develop processes to ensure continuous business improvement through the implementation of effective quality management and risk systems.
