Can you help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment in our morning drop-in sessions for homeless people? Practically demonstrating God's love for 30-50 guests, many of whom have mental health issues and/or substance misuse problems. We provide hot food, showers, health services, casework support and housing and employment advice. Help in crisis and hope for life!

Age UK Richmond are a local independent charity providing support for older people throughout the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive individual to take on the role of Information & Advice Manager.
Age UK Richmond provide Information & Advice to older people throughout the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Our Information & Advice service is part of a suite of services that helps older people live healthy independent and happy lives.
The Information & Advice Service currently has three delivery areas: a ‘First Contact’ helpline that also acts as a gateway into Age UK Richmond; specialist Welfare Benefits support and Advice Extra. Advice Extra provides in depth case work support on a range of topics.
This role would involve:
- Managing and supporting a small Information & Advice team, including advisors and volunteers.
- Directly providing advice, with responsibility for the directly delivering the Advice Extra project in particular.
- Ensuring the Information & Advice team meet KPI’s set by funders and look to improve the outcome and feedback monitoring where possible.
- Working in partnership with other local services and looking for development opportunities.
- Ensuring the provision of consistent quality advice in accordance with our quality standards.
The role will require visits to the houses of older people, with Covid-19 social distancing and hygiene measures in place.

The Communications Officer helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by developing and implementing integrated communications campaigns which promote, protect, and raise Guide Dogs’ profile amongst key target audiences. In addition, working with Guide Dogs’ brand purpose, contribute to brand awareness and growth.
The role is a wide-ranging and creative and will be required to work closely alongside key stakeholders including a diverse Communications team which has a broad remit consisting of internal communications, national PR and media relations, ambassador and celebrity management, and stakeholder engagement.
This role can be based from London or our Reading Hub with some travel required between both locations.
This role is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with 26 days paid holiday (excluding bank holidays) a year. As a charity, we’re always keen to support flexible working as best we can. Essential
- Experience of working within a busy press office and as part of an integrated communications team.
- A track record of identifying, developing, and securing high quality media opportunities which meet strategic objectives and KPIs.
- Experience of bringing our Brand and services to life by telling people’s real-life stories in an engaging, inspiring, and respectful way.
- Ability to build a rapport and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Interest and/or experience working in the charity or public sector.
- Experience of working as part of a geographically dispersed organisation.
- Experience of developing and implementing multi-channel, integrated communications plans with measurable KPIs.
- Experience with developing engaging, creative content for owned digital channels.
Desirable
- Relevant professional qualification.
