The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of HCPT’s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the effective delivery and high performance of all operational and business support aspects of the charity’s work. This includes oversight of the quality and efficiency aspects of all that we do in planning and execution of pilgrimages, safeguarding, compliance, finance, HR, and infrastructure. The COO will ensure that HCPT’s operations are safe, efficient, and aligned with our Catholic ethos and mission of inclusion and care, and that our performance is optimised to deliver excellence, which is:  THE BEST pilgrimage experience we can offer as defined and measured by our beneficiaries and volunteers.

This is a senior role in volunteer-led organisation and as such the successful postholder will be required to exercise flexibility with evening and weekend work to meet the business needs of the charity, given the availability of our volunteer leaders who have professional commitments during the day.

Purpose of the role

As the Board Secretary to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for administration support, diary management and meeting organisation of the Board and Board Committees including being responsible for the compiling and distribution of Board packs by co-ordinating input from relevant staff.

Administration support will include assistance with developing and recording annual workplans, minute-taking, action management and support with forward planning for meetings and key events. You will take ownership of the annual meeting schedule and calendar of Board and Committee meetings; you will also be responsible for organising other trustee and CEO related meetings at the discretion of the Chair of the Board.

As Executive Assistant, you will provide high quality administration support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to ensure the smooth operation of CEO and SLT responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions. 

You will have significant experience of providing accurate proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and be able to demonstrate experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional, with well-developed time management skills and able to evidence completion of activities. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical to this role, as is the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care and integrity.

Key responsibilites

Board Secretary 

• Develop and maintain annual workplans for the Board and Committees in conjunction with the Chair of Trustees, Committee Chairs, CEO and SLT to ensure agendas are structured and tasks are delivered and completed.

• Set Board and Committee meeting dates in conjunction with the CEO and Chair and organise all meetings which may be in person, online or hybrid.

• Produce Board and Committee meeting agendas in liaison with CEO and SLT, ensuring that committee and board workplans are adhered to, and action logs followed up in a timely manner. 

• Co-ordinate the collation of Board packs with input from SLT, the Governance Manager and other members of the Extended Leadership Team to support the agenda items.

• Oversee the timetable for production of Board packs and using the board portal (Team Engine), distribute agendas and the Board pack for all board and committee meetings on a timely basis. 

• Clerk all board and committee meetings, producing minutes and action logs in a timely fashion and ensuring they are signed off by the CEO, SLT lead and Chair. 

• Keep the board portal (Team Engine) up-to-date with meeting papers, policies and other relevant documents. 

• Administer all board appointments and reappointments, producing the induction plan and checking all paperwork is complete to ensure compliant appointments. 

• Support the production and delivery of Board business including the Annual Report and Accounts, recruitment and selection of trustees, and Board development activity where required. 

• In conjunction with the Company Secretary and Governance Manager, ensure adherence to submission with various regulatory and statutory documents to Companies House and the Charities Commission.

• Liaise with the Governance Manager and Chair on the administration of compliance and governance matters related to the Board and longer-term Board projects e.g. skills audits and Board development.

Executive Assistant 

• Provide proactive and responsive administrative support at an executive level to the CEO and SLT, including diary management and ad hoc administration tasks. 

• Develop, plan and maintain an organisational calendar and scheduling meetings and events in a co-ordinated and manageable way. 

• Liaise with SLT to plan an appropriate schedule of work for the organisational calendar to maximise collaboration and the efficient use of time and resources. 

• Provide executive and secretarial support including action logs at the weekly SLT meetings in an efficient and effective way e.g. using note taking software.  Assist with following up actions and meeting outcomes by the agreed deadlines. 

• Collate and distributing of agendas, actions and annual workplans for the SLT meetings in a timely manner. 

• Organisation and administrative support of charity wide events including internal quarterly whole organisation meetings, both in-person and virtual, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of these events. 

• Lead on the organisation and administration of specific project or task groups to ensure that agreed targets, objectives and deadline are met. 

General 

• Build awareness of the charity’s purpose through building strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders. 

• Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. 

• Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and role specific training. 

• Additional ad hoc duties as and when required.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, outcome focussed person. You will enjoy being autonomous while working to a plan and to deadlines. You will be capable of producing accurate work and having an eye for detail. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a wide range of people. 

Who you’ll be working with 

You will be part of our Finance and Resources team and report directly to our HR Manager. Your day-to-day working relationships will be with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.

We’re looking for a kind and compassionate person to join our Family Support team, working directly with families who are facing the unthinkable – the news that their child has cancer or a life-challenging condition.

Primarily based at St George’s, Royal Marsden (transitioning to Evelina, Westminster in 2026), Kingston Hospital and St Peter’s, Chertsey. Travel to other partnered hospitals across London and Surrey as required. Includes at least one monthly meeting at our East Molesey office. 

As our Hospital Family Support Worker, you’ll visit children, young people and their families on the wards of our partnered hospitals. You’ll be a consistent, reassuring presence, offering emotional and practical support when it’s most needed – and helping families feel less alone.

You’ll meet families already known to Momentum, as well as take new referrals. You’ll also support families remotely who live further afield or are adjusting to life after treatment.

This role is about being that calm, empathetic and kind person who makes a difference just by showing up. You’ll be a trusted part of hospital life, and a key link between the families, Momentum, and the wider healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Offer emotional and practical support to families, being a warm and reliable presence during their hospital stay.

· Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships with parents, carers, children and young people.

· Meet families in hospital, explain our support services, and complete referral forms for further help.

· Work closely with hospital professionals, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, deliver training on Momentum’s service and sharing relevant updates with the wider Momentum team.

· Keep accurate records of your work, including family interactions and safeguarding concerns.

· Understand and follow all safeguarding, child protection, and lone working policies.

· Report any safeguarding concerns in line with our policies and procedures.

· Support Momentum’s fundraising and communications by sharing family stories (with consent) and identifying case studies.

· Ensure all actions reflect Momentum’s values and vision – that no family with a seriously ill child should have to cope alone.

· Comply with hospital policies around dress code, infection control, and health and safety.

· Attend team meetings in-person and online across London and Surrey.

· Complete training requirements relevant to your role.

· Carry out other reasonable duties to support the delivery of Momentum’s work.

The Community Energy Adviser will deliver energy support sessions in local communities, empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. Full time- 35 hours a week

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and may also include some Saturdays.

The role

In this role you will be:

· Planning and delivering engaging and informative energy support workshops within local communities, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs of attendees.

· Providing one-to-one support to individuals requiring more in-depth assistance, including conducting home energy assessments and offering tailored advice.

· Collaborating with local organisations and stakeholders to identify and reach out to communities and individuals who would benefit most from energy advice and support.

· Developing and distributing educational materials on energy saving, bill management, and the benefits of renewable energy sources.

· Tracking and evaluating the impact of community sessions and one-to-one interventions, adjusting strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness.

· Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of energy sector developments, including changes in legislation, available grants, and best practices in energy conservation.

Candidates will have experience of designing and using mixed-methods of service evaluation, ideally within a health-based environment.

You’ll play a central role in welcoming new families, assessing their needs, and providing tailored support through peer groups, events, and one-to-one engagement. This includes planning and delivering seasonal events on site or at local hubs, coordinating volunteer support, and occasionally visiting hospitals or homes during times of crisis. Your work will help families feel connected, supported, and empowered.  
  
This role includes participation in a 7 day a week rota, typically covering Saturday/Sunday at The Bluebells, evening and after-school activities.  

The position is primarily part-time, based on a 3-day work week (22.5 hours). Participation in weekend and evening activities (approximately once per month each) is expected, Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be provided to ensure compliance with contracted hours. 

Key Responsibilities  

Family Registration & Support  

• Completing registration and initial needs assessments for new families.  

• Assessing existing families’ needs when there is a change in circumstances.  

• Develop and deliver personalised support plans when needed, including form filling and referrals to local services.  

• Monitor progress and adjust support as needed.  

• Be a key point of contact for families on the SAT caseload providing support during the child’s illness and in bereavement.  

Peer Support & Community Engagement  

• Plan, organise, and lead peer support groups for supported children, parents, and siblings at The Bluebells and in local community hubs.  

• Foster peer-to-peer connections and create inclusive, supportive environments.  

• Support and attend after-school and evening activities as needed.  

• Participate and collaborate in annual and seasonal events.  

• Participate in a staff rota to cover 5 annual sleepover for siblings and supported children.

Crisis & Outreach Support  

• Conduct hospital or home visits at times of crisis.   

• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed at all times.  

Collaboration & Communication  

• Effectively and sensitively communicate with children, young people and their families  

• Liaise with professionals and other local partners as required.  

• Work closely with internal teams, including fundraising, to support case studies and funding bids.  

• Ensure all activities align with Trust policies and procedures.  

Supervision and professional development  

• Participate in supervision and staff debriefs.  

• Complete all required mandatory and statutory training.  

• Develop own knowledge and reflect on practice .  

• Participate in annual appraisal.  

Volunteer Supervision  

• Manage family support volunteers, delegating specific tasks such as emotional support calls or practical help as required.  

• Provide training, supervision, and ongoing support to ensure volunteers feel valued and effective – training will be provided.

This person would be responsible for leading on and developing major grant and trust funder relationships, working closely with internal teams on developing these projects further, maintaining a healthy pipeline and undertaking reporting and claims.

The role will also support our front-line services and advocacy teams on securing institutional contracts for direct service provision.

About this job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Income and Gift Aid Accountant Assistant to help us make sure every penny counts in our mission to stop MS. You'll play a key role in managing our income processing and supporting Gift Aid claims to help us maximise the value of every donation.

You'll ensure that donations recorded in our CRM system match the funds received, resolving discrepancies and supporting our income processes to run efficiently. Working closely with our Customer Services and Fundraising teams you’ll be at the heart of making sure our financial data is accurate and robust.

You’ll also assist with preparing and checking Gift Aid claims, helping us claim back vital extra funds at no additional cost to our supporters. Your detail driven approach will help us continue to build a strong and transparent foundation for everything we do.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of financial accounting principles, strong Excel and IT skills, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. Excellent communication and organisational skills will also be essential as you work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure our income records are accurate and efficient.
