Overall purpose

A keen understanding of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace and employee wellbeing is an advantage.

This role is essential to ensure we continue to be an effective, inclusive and people-led organisation. Your role will be vital in making sure Breaking Barriers is and continues to be a great place to work for its staff.

Summary of the position

Epic is looking for a Development Manager to support the activities of the UK Development Team to help us ‘make giving the norm’.

The Development Manager will work with the UK Director in our small team in the UK, as well as working closely with colleagues in Paris and Brussels. 

This position offers candidates the opportunity to develop their skills across a range of fundraising disciplines including corporate fundraising, major donor engagement, events, and philanthropy. 

This position will work with a deeply engaged team in an international environment. Given the versatile nature of the responsibilities and the small team size, candidates will need to show demonstrable flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to take ownership and work independently.

Key Responsibilities :

With support from the UK Director, the Development Manager will work collaboratively with the Director and wider UK team and Development colleagues in Paris and Brussels to execute the fundraising strategy in the UK. The Development Manager is a key role in a small team, and will contribute new ideas, networks and results to help us meet our income targets and therefore create more positive impact for children and young people globally. 1. Business Development (65%)

• Lead prospect research and outreach efforts to expand Epic’s prospect donor pool in the UK: monitor the fundraising ecosystem, conduct in-depth prospect research and engage in proactive outreach campaigns through LinkedIn, emailing, digital networking and in-person events. This will include attending early morning and evening events as required.
• Set conversion objectives and support conversion from leads to donations
• Identify and secure lead opportunities within networks and events
• Pitch Epic and its various Giving Solutions to potential donors, and build tailored proposals when needed
• Maintain high discipline and consistency in follow-up with leads and donors: use Epic’s CRM to build a consistent pipeline of prospects, as well as maintaining the database with accurate and up to date donor information
• Evaluate and monitor the return on investment (ROI) of events and fundraising campaigns
• Prepare compelling fundraising communications, materials and presentations for donor meetings and events

2. Nurturing & engaging the UK Community (20%)

• Contribute to Epic’s engagement strategy for current donors to ensure an 80% renewal rate
• Maintain regular touchpoints with a subgroup of donors through activities such as sharing monitoring reports, organising project visits and volunteering opportunities in the UK, and scheduling regular calls and face to face meetings. 
• Act as the main point of contact for a subset of donors and answer their enquiries in a timely manner
• Craft and manage engagement opportunities such as UK events and webinars, including drinks, talks, breakfast events, and provide support to the organisation for the annual gala nights. Support will be provided for certain events by our in-house dedicated Events team.

3. Fundraising-related administration (15%)

• Manage donor-related administrative tasks, such as regular use of Epic’s CRM (Salesforce), donation forms, meeting preparation, minutes (where applicable), and 
• Process all donations, using Salesforce and related donation platforms, in a timely manner each month
• Liaise with international fund vehicles, such as Myriad USA, to ensure all international donation commitments are fulfilled. 

Position Requirements :

• Candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent level of English (both spoken and written) required
• Proficiency in French (written and spoken) highly desirable 
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales, fundraising or business development role, with demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure gifts
• Experience within the charity sector is desirable but not required
• Experience using software packages such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canva and other applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to attend external events (including evening events) and comfortable networking with a variety of people across different communities

The Epic UK team is a small but dedicated team. The role requires flexibility and a start-up attitude. This is a full time, permanent position, based in the London office with the opportunity for two remote working days each week. The role

Working as part of a team of Technical Managers, you will support our Stadium Accreditation Programme and will lead on the technical/construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant projects.

You will support the Stadium Accreditation Programme by helping establish new ways of working following the initial assessment of approximately 1,000 stadiums across England and Wales. You will have responsibility for a set of leagues and clubs across the Midlands and the East of England and you will work with them to ensure their compliance while also delivering against the objectives outlined within the new Premier League Stadium Fund Facilities Strategy.

You will be responsible for the scrutiny of the technical/construction aspects of Premier League Stadium Fund grant applications and ensuring the successful completion of new and improved stadium facilities. As part of this process, you will provide professional advice and guidance to applicants to assist with the development of capital projects, within the National League System (NLS) and Women’s Football Pyramid (WFP).

You’ll support clubs in addressing Stadium Accreditation findings, assess their grant applications, and oversee funded projects to ensure construction is completed on time and to plan.

What are we looking for?

You’ll need a construction-related degree or professional qualification (for example RICS, CIOB, RIBA or equivalent), or the equivalent experience in a construction management or technical role. You’ll have expertise in construction processes, and experience of delivering facilities from inception to completion. Experience in sports facility construction is desirable but not essential.

You’ll need excellent people skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and handle challenging situations confidently. Strong organisation, attention to detail, and sound decision-making are essential. You should also be adaptable and open to new technologies to help drive ongoing improvements in the Premier League Stadium Fund and Stadium Accreditation programme.

Person Specification

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Develop and manage relationships with Resurgo’s major donors, asking for financial support at the right time.
• Create bespoke stewardship plans for existing major donors and new prospects, including in-person meetings, written updates and reports.
• Help to develop mid-level giving by creating stewardship plans and tailored written communication.

Business Development

• Develop and implement the business development, attending networking 
  events, asking for introductions and being confident using LinkedIn to 
  look for new opportunities, identifying, researching and contacting 
  potential supporters.
• Work with the corporate teams to cross-promote opportunities; identify and 
  further engage potential high-level donors within businesses and vice versa. 

Events

• Assist with the planning and delivery of a variety of fundraising events, 
  working closely with the impact, communications and finance teams to 
  generate strong results.
• Help to develop and deliver new strategic events to further engage 
  major and mid-level donors with Resurgo’s work.

Financial Management

• Help to monitor the major donor pipeline, regularly reporting on income and progress against targets and help with financial management using a CRM (Salesforce).

As the leading charity funding research into the causes of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth, and improving maternity outcomes for women and birthing people, Tommy’s is well-placed to convey hope through real life stories from the families they’ve helped to bring a baby home. Half of UK adults have experienced baby loss or know someone who has. Their research is here to change the story.

The Stories Manager is responsible for amplifying the voice of people who have been affected by pregnancy and baby loss to call for change, while demonstrating the impact of Tommy’s research and support services through storytelling.

• Develop and deliver a multi-channel storytelling strategy
• Set up processes and best practice to gather and share stories
• Source and write compelling case studies and lived experience content
• Support and steward individuals who share their stories

Tackling inequities in pregnancy and birthing is a strategic goal for Tommy’s, and there is a great onus for the charity to source stories which represent a diverse breadth of communities and experiences across their owned communications channels, and through our engagement with the media on topical stories.

Working closely with the Head of Communications and Campaigns and colleagues right across the charity, the Stories Manager plays a vital role helping to position Tommy’s as the leading charity funding ground-breaking research to stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and make pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone.

You will be working for Advance London service as an experienced Domestic Housing Manager, responsible for overseeing the delivery of the London service. You will lead and manage the LWHSP project and the co-located IDVAs,

Being responsible for line managing and performance managing Regional Managers and project staff within the post holder’s responsibility, including annual appraisals and supervision.

Supporting Regional Managers to recruit, train and develop a team of competent and highly skilled IDVAs to provide a consistently high-quality service to women. Supporting IDVAs to ensure that Advance’s values, policies and procedures are embedded into service delivery.

Overseeing the management of caseloads and casework to a high-quality standard and monitoring the performance of your team, offering continuous coaching and feedback to ensure that Advance meets the specific KPIs and outcome measures for the contract, taking immediate action to manage poor performance as necessary.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Housing Manager you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring your management experience of providing services to women experiencing Domestic Violence and Abuse including VAWG. With a significant experience of managing, developing and leading teams across a geographically dispersed region and remotely, including harnessing the strengths and potential of staff at all levels, building a strong team culture and maintaining staff motivation, particularly through periods of change. You will have substantial delivery of collaborative working with external agencies, stakeholders, subcontracted partners and extensive management of frontline workers

Our Location 

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. PR Manager
Home based, remote working 
£37,000 - £40,000 pa plus excellent benefits

As one of two PR Managers, you'll be the key point of contact for all PR communications, helping to develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies. Responsible for implementing and managing a proactive PR activity schedule, you’ll craft compelling content to entice journalists and the media to support our work. Responding reactively to requests the charity receives.

Championing best practices in PR, you’ll drive effective, integrated campaigns across the UK, ensuring a cohesive approach to both traditional and digital media.

Diving into projects such as Deaf Awareness Week, our ‘It does matter’, access to Ear Wax removal services and major healthcare campaigns, you’ll raise awareness of the barriers facing the 18m people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, getting these issues on the national agenda, starting conversations around hearing health.

You'll also be celebrating inclusion, working the UK's biggest TV shows, and campaigning for equal access to healthcare.

You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating our PR content calendar, creating and curating inspiring and shareable materials that resonate with our target audiences,reporting on performance against KPIs and making recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Managing media and stakeholder relationships, ensuring timely, engaging, and brand-appropriate responses to queries and feedback.

• Acting as the first point of contact for reactive media inquiries, providing prompt and effective responses to manage and shape media coverage.

• Overseeing PR project management for campaigns, collaborating with colleagues across the MarComms team.

• Championing PR best practices. Advising and assisting teams, applying insights from performance analysis to ensure all PR content is designed to maximise reach, engagement, and impact.

• Conducting media monitoring and PR analysis to identify trends and reputational issues.

• Tracking the success of PR initiatives, providing feedback to project teams on effective strategies and areas for improvement.

• Working with our Stories and Celebrity Managers to identify and engage new case studies and high-profile individuals, and deliver impactful stories or celebrity-led campaigns.

• Share success and media coverage across RNID, working with the Internal comms team to celebrate and show the value of PR and involve the whole organisation in our work

• Supporting spokespeople from across RNID, case studies, celebrities and influencers with high profile media interviews including developing media briefings and key messages and providing feedback

• Play a key role in the PR & Comms team, ensuring that PR, social media, celebrity and storytelling works together to deliver maximum impact

You will have experience of driving forward and managing a PR function and possess a thorough understanding of how various PR channels function and how content is best delivered, staying current with industry trends.
