Job description

Outreach Worker - Romanian Speaking

  • Full time, 37.5 hours
  • 12 month fixed term contract
  • Kingston upon Thames
  • £31,500 per annum

Responsibilities:

  • To be accountable and responsible for providing high-quality outreach services to individuals who are rough sleeping.
  • To bring about long-lasting, sustainable change, give clients that engage with an efficient needs-led service.
  • Make frequent outreach shifts to locate and get in touch with people who are rough sleeping, verifying information and gathering data to help them move on.
  • Make sure that evaluations and assistance programmes are pertinent to the Roma population and suitable for their cultural context, enabling them to interact with existing resources.
  • Form alliances with other groups and organisations, speaking out for the rights of Roma people on welfare, immigration, and other matters when needed.
  • Assist assigned clients in determining their requirements, making appropriate assistance referrals, and obtaining suitable housing
  • Help customers with their money by communicating with the right agencies and handling things like benefit claims and debt difficulties.
  • Must oversee and be accountable for making sure that counsel, assistance, crisis intervention, and future planning are provided in a way that meets the specific requirements of service users.

Experience Required:

  • Possessing fluency in Romani or Romanian, or at least speak to a high level.
  • A full, clean UK driver's licence.
  • Solid comprehension of the Roma populations.
  • Previous employment in the social services or homelessness fields.
  • Familiarity with data management and GDPR.
  • Understanding of the services, pathways, and circumstances that are pertinent to the existing drug and alcohol programme.
  • The emotional fortitude to handle difficult behaviour and promote continuous positive involvement.
  • Strong IT abilities, including the capacity to record information quickly and accurately in IT programmes like CHAIN and Inform.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and expertise in risk assessment and support planning for clients with complex needs.
  • Previous experience monitoring results and performing client interviews and assessments.
