Location: Havering, based within the service. Unfortunately this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday, 09:00 - 17:00 or 13:00 - 21:00 on a rota basis. Shift patterns and weekly hours may vary dependent on service and resident requirements

About the Role

We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Havering which is a 25 bed, 24 hour service delivering support to adults who have multiple and complex needs within a supported accommodation setting. You will support with various aspects within the service, with a focus on providing social contact and company to help enhance quality of life, personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy and improving financial independence. You will support our residents to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to gain greater independence, supporting them back into the community. 

You will be at the forefront of delivering a trauma-informed, person-centred service, supporting individuals through rehabilitation, reablement, and resettlement. This includes assisting with engagement activities, developing support plans, and providing access to appropriate interventions to help residents move towards independence.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supporting residents to access the resources, tools, and networks they need to achieve their goals.
• Develop, participate in, and encourage residents to participate in the running and development of various projects and activities.
• Promoting independence through life skills training, practical support, and empowerment.
• Recognising and responding to mental and physical health needs and safeguarding concerns.
• Supporting the creation of a safe, welcoming and psychologically informed living environment.
• Carrying out housing management tasks including reporting repairs, maintaining communal areas, and health and safety checks.

The Ascent Pan London Floating Support Service (PLFSS) provides high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services and counselling. This partnership, which is run by 11 specialist DA organisations (including Solace), delivers trauma-informed, wrap-around, client-led support for those in safe accommodation, across London.

As a partner organisation, Solace is established in the communities/boroughs that we cover and have links and referral pathways. In working together, we can help survivors of domestic abuse, for whom refuge accommodation is not suitable, to create a life for themselves, free from fear and abuse.

About the Role

As a Housing Floating Support Worker, you will help women with practical tenancy sustainment, as well as ongoing support to cope, recover and move towards independence. You will achieve this through:

· Specialist support and safety planning, to reduce risks and harm for survivors and their children

· Ongoing casework support, including referrals to specialist advice and practical support, such as legal advice around civil and criminal remedies

· Empowering survivors with information on their rights and options, demystifying complex statutory systems and dispelling myths perpetuated by perpetrators and wider society

· Support to maintain accommodation, or to source permanent accommodation as necessary

· Financial empowerment work to maximise income, including support with debt

· Referral to therapeutic support from Woman’s Trust

· Support to link with local resources such as ESOL classes, volunteering and training to develop financial independence, and opportunities to gain social support, such as mother-and-baby groups, or formal DA programmes (delivered by partners)

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them tounderstand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.

To be considered for this role, you should be able to:

• Navigating the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, working with people who have a higher complexity in substance use and need additional support from multiple services.

Gareth Stacey House is one of our 24-hour supported housing services offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with 15 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building. Situated in the centre of Hove, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Gareth Stacey House team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing:

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team

Coaching and Engagement:

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)

General:

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working

About the role

The Lead Worker - Coaching role at Crisis Skylight South Wales is a varied and fulfilling role. You will assist people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by assessing their needs and offering appropriate interventions (coaching, information, advice and guidance, advocacy and direct support) and use a variety of communication skills to develop, follow and review a personalised plan to end their homelessness sustainably.

You will have access to regular one to one supervision sessions and facilitated reflective practice sessions to support the positive impact of the role; working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external services is also an important aspect of the role to ensure that individuals are able to access the services they need.

About you

• Ability to motivate and encourage individuals to maintain their access to the service by working through the changes they have identified and supporting them to recognise their progress.
• Current knowledge of health and safety issues and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe environment is provided for individual’s accessing the service, staff, volunteers, supporters and visitors.
• Being able to support team members, including volunteers, by sharing your knowledge and skills and by working constructively together to end the homelessness of the individuals accessing the service.

• Ability to collaborate with partner organisations to maintain service knowledge, referral pathways and manage safeguarding concerns. When necessary, advocate for individuals to ensure that they are able to receive, engage or continue to access services appropriate to their needs.

• Knowledge and experience of coaching which assists individuals experiencing homelessness through a process of strengths based personal change; coupled with the ability to recognise when other interventions like IAG, advocacy or direct assistance may be needed.

• You may have experience in working within a relevant sector such as homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, criminal justice, domestic abuse, modern day slavery or employability support. You may also hold or develop one or more areas of expertise such as housing access, homelessness / housing legislation, welfare benefits, employment support, health services, drug and alcohol treatment, MAPPA, MARAC or criminal justice services. This may enhance the effectiveness of the services’ ability to support members and engage effectively with partners.

About the role

As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be part of Crisis Skylight Brent’s Engagement and Assessment Team, providing a high quality, non-judgemental and safe service to individuals who approach our Skylight Centre. Engagement and Assessment Workers are the first point of contact for a range of enquiries from people who are experiencing homelessness for the first time, individuals with complex and multiple needs, visitors, volunteers, and supporters. You will be providing information about Crisis’ services, delivering a high-quality triage and assessment service, and offering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on local homelessness and other related services. You will also manage a small caseload.

Crisis uses a case management approach, and the successful candidate will attend case management meetings, reflective practice, and team meetings. You will also work collaboratively with external partners and Crisis Skylight London’s Coaching and Learning Teams.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of working with homeless or other vulnerable groups and understanding of the importance of respecting confidentiality, showing empathy and sensitivity, and working in a boundary way.
• Experience of assessing presenting needs and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment, and in a way that ensures that members with all levels of need can access the service.

Job title: internally this role is known as Structured Coach (Landlord Liaison)

Crisis Skylight Oxford is located in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. Our team provide a one to one specialist housing led service to help people find and secure affordable housing. We offer person centred support and will help people with anything that will support them to end their homelessness, such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment. 

The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.  

About the role

In this role you will carry your own caseload and be supporting people who are at risk of homelessness or experiencing homelessness into the Private Rental Sector.

You will be part of a supportive and established team who have knowledge and experience of accessing the PRS sector With a specialism in landlord liaison you will be finding, securing and maintaining the relationships we need with private and social landlords to provide a supply of good quality and affordable homes for Crisis members.

The key to success will be your ability, as part of the Crisis team, to make collaborative, consistent and persistent relationships with each person you support and have good partnership working skills.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

1. Experience of working within a relevant sector (e.g. homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment) and have good knowledge of relevant housing, homelessness and welfare legislation

1. Excellent understanding of the rental housing market local to Skylight Oxford and experience of sourcing and procuring properties including demonstratable knowledge of the legal requirements when letting a property
2. Understanding of both the needs of social and private landlords and the barriers and opportunities faced by people moving out of homelessness and into housing.​​​​​​​
3. Effective negotiation skills with the ability to mediate between parties who may have different priorities and to broker agreements

You may have experience in; Homelessness, Mental health, Drug and Alcohol or the Criminal Justice System
