This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspirational individual to join Keychange in an important new role.  We are looking for a candidate who is excited about delivering high-quality management information and helping to drive forward efficient and effective data management.  The successful applicant will collaborate with the finance team at Keychange to provide comprehensive financial data to community managers, the senior leadership team and trustees.  Additionally they will support the senior finance team in producing consistent and reliable non-financial organisational data.

This role will be supported by an accountancy training "day release" style package paid for by Keychange, aiming for a CCAB qualification within 2-3 years.  We are therefore looking for someone who demonstrates a willingness to learn while delivering financial analyses and generating management information for non-finance users, as well as a team player with a flexible "can do" attitude, taking initiative to solve problems and excietd to develop their communication skills.

Keychange provides support and care to people facing vulnerability.  We do this by providing housing to women and young people experiencing homelessness and providing residential care to older people across the South of England.  This position is based at our central office in London Waterloo, where hybrid working patterns are available.  Occasional visits to our operating sites may be required.

The post-holder will maintain a manageable caseload of clients needing support with their welfare rights and benefits. The role is to support the Welfare Rights Advice Project Team with the following:

1. To carry out an initial client assessment, identifying any issues with their benefits and any claims they can make to maximise their income.
2. Provide casework (including challenging decisions) for welfare benefits available to clients with mental health difficulties and their carers: i.e. Personal Independence Payments, Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit.

4. Provide advice and casework for mobility and discretionary schemes and personal grants that could be of benefit to clients.

We’re looking for a dedicated Legal Casework Manager (Helpline) to join our committed information and advice team covering England at Mencap on a full time (37.5 hours per week) fixed term contract for 2 years.

Here at Mencap we are a leading charity providing advice, support and opportunities to people with a learning disability across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The role will lead on supporting families to get answers about how their loved ones died and change across the healthcare system to prevent future deaths. 

The role is flexible in terms of location, which can include home working, using Mencap’s office bases, such as in London and Peterborough, and will include some national travel, for example to inquest hearings or to meet families when needed. 

About the Role

As Legal Casework Manager (Helpline), you’ll provide advice, support, and casework assistance to families facing complex legal issues, specifically relating to people with a learning disability who have died in avoidable circumstances across England, mainly within the healthcare system. Working within a small, supportive team, you’ll manage your own caseload, contribute to the body of knowledge about avoidable deaths and help empower families to understand and exercise their rights and get answers through the inquest and other investigations processes. 

Key Responsibilities

· Provide clear, accurate, and timely legal advice and casework support for families.

· Work closely with clients, many of whom will be distressed, ensuring a sensitive, trauma informed and professional approach

· Maintain up-to-date case records and comply with quality and regulatory standards

· Support strategic litigation and advocacy efforts where appropriate

· Liaise with other charities, coroners, legal professionals, and agencies to support families to get answers

· Work towards a world where people with a learning disability are no more at risk of death in hospitals, than any other person

· Manage a team of caseworkers working across different areas of advice.

About You

We’re looking for someone:

· Legally qualified in the UK or similar jurisdiction with at least 3 years post qualification, working in either clinical negligence, inquests or inquiries. Or similar number of years working as a senior case worker in an inquest/clinical negligence/inquiries advice role.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental and empathetic approach

· Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise effectively, and work independently

· Ability to travel effectively to support families at inquests, and to attend meetings

· A clear understanding of the importance of professional boundaries and in maintaining their emotional wellbeing in distressing situations

· Strong management skills and ability to supervise, coach and mentor colleagues. 

· Experience of accurately recording client case records and use of CRM/client database system

Tabard Court is a mental health supported accommodation for individual with significant offending histories. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to customers with a range of mental health needs - emotional, social, physical or domestic -, who have had contact with the Criminal Justice System. This role will include shift working including: every other weekends, early shifts (8am start) and late shifts (until 10pm).

About the Role 

The Head of Rough Sleeping Services will lead our services in our centre based at 12 Adelaide Street. The core purpose of these services is to minimise the harm associated with rough sleeping and support people into treatment and accommodation options. This will include Centre Services, our Community, Street Engagement and case work teams. You will also lead the delivery of any short-term emergency accommodation including SWEP and hotel provision.    

This opportunity comes at a particularly exciting time as the Connection looks to ambitiously develop our work at Adeliade Street into a hub of harm reduction and health inclusion for people rough sleeping in Westminster. As the Head of Rough Sleeping Services, you will lead the exciting strategic and operational work to deliver this, and have the chance to be part of a centre that aims to be a nationally recognised example of innovative practice.   

The role requires someone with a strong track record in service delivery with people who have complex needs. They must have experience of trauma informed care and similar associated practice.  Alongside ensuring high quality service delivery, they must have experience of developing new approaches, building relationships with statutory services and working with fundraising specialists to secure resources. The Head of Rough Sleeping Services will be a well organised and focused manager who uses coaching techniques to develop their team. The Refuge Service provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. About the Role

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting.  You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.  

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

In addition to case management you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the refuges.  You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.
