This is a very interesting place to work as we support both care leavers and young people at risk in a large number of growing services across the borough. We offer a mix of high Support Services, which operate 24/7 and flexible with services operating from 9:00am – 5:00pm (with the need for some flexibility)
We are looking for Supported Housing Officer that can provide quality support to our young people.

In this role you will:
- Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence.

Some of the qualities and skills we’re looking for:

Degree in politics or a social science subject; or equivalent experience working in the public affairs, political or lobbying sector.

Prior experience of working for a politician, a public affairs agency, party political research office or an organisation with demonstrable relevant experience; or previous experience working in a public affairs or lobbying role.

Practical understanding of the Senedd’s legislative processes.

Action Homeless is looking for people to join the Housing First Team. Delivering a person centred approach supporting the most excluded and hard to reach people of Leicester. The Housing First team will work to engage and motivate people to manage their housing and health needs, working flexibly on your own initiative and creatively with the wider team and local partners. Housing First will be offered to people who are rough sleeping, homeless or at imminent risk of rough sleeping; they may present as challenging behaviours, and are likely to have multiple and complex needs which make finding, securing and maintaining accommodation impossible or extremely difficult.
Many of the people using the service will of experienced trauma; and will require a range of innovative and complex solutions to everyday challenges. This will include work to engage people who have a history of disengaging from services, using a variety of techniques and approaches to build relationships.
Your days will vary, and you will need to adapt to changing circumstances flexibly, as you work with people to reach their personalised goals. These can range from daily tasks such as shopping, getting a haircut or going to the pictures, to supporting someone to reconnect with family, to move into a new tenancy and creating a home. This role is home and office based, with travel throughout London. As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advisor- Housing Specialist you will: -
- Ensure that male survivors' safety and housing needs are met.
- Provide specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis.

Our vision is of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life. We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change.
Housing First is an innovative approach, proven to successfully support people with repeat histories of homelessness and who experience multiple disadvantages, into independent and stable accommodation. Once housed, they are provided with the supportive services and connections to community-based support, so that they can sustain their housing and avoid returning to homelessness.
Your role as a Specialist Housing First Worker, will require you to work alongside a wider team involving other Specialist Housing First Workers, Navigators and Managers, to ensure support is delivered to the most vulnerable rough sleepers in the Borough. You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of up to 7 clients, providing them with one-to-one intensive support, that will be offered within the client's home as well as within the community.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive and adept at developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will have an understanding of the core principles of the Housing First Model and work actively to ensure that these principles are at the heart of achieving positive outcomes for our clients. Along with a good working knowledge of London's private rented market and the current welfare system, you will also have a commitment to supporting highly vulnerable adults with complex or multiple health needs.

The post will provide an intensive service in Nottinghamshire County to support complex, and/or chaotic service users in securing and maintaining accommodation. This cohort of service users will have a history of rough sleeping and are likely to be at risk of rough sleeping due to struggling to adapt to the change in lifestyle required and difficulty of adhering to the rules and regulations that come with being a tenant in accommodation.
The post exists to stem the flow of rough sleepers by taking a lead on coordinating the support from a range of agencies, to adults with a broad range of issues, and creatively supporting those individuals to maintain tenancies, sustain independent living, and building their resilience.

About the role:
This role is home and office based, with travel throughout London. As a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (SIDVA) - Immigration Specialist you will: -
- Lead on the development of responses to the needs of male victim/survivors with housing and immigration needs within London and the development of relationships with partner agencies in this area.
- Effectively manage and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active domestic abuse team.
- Ensure that the service prioritises the safety, security and dignity of service users and their children
You will need:
- You will need a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact.
- Knowledge of the issues facing Men, women and children affected by violence against women and girls along with the ability to identify victim/survivor individual needs
- Have a thorough understanding of migration and asylum routes inclusive of international and UK law and rights and the procedures for applying for refugee/asylum status in the UK
- Experience of working with housing agencies or in a housing setting in the context of domestic abuse to provide advice
- A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and harmful practices and its impact specifically on men but inclusive of the significant impact on women, children, families, and communities.
- Experience of managing a team delivering front line support to victims or domestic abuse or vulnerable people to a high standard
- To be Non-judgemental, non-directive and anti-discriminatory approach to empowering victim/survivors of domestic abuse
- The ability to speak Sylheti/Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Turkish, Kurdish, Polish, Gujarati, Somali, Yoruba, Akan, French, Lingala, Igbo or Arabic is desirable.

We are recruiting for motivated, Specialist Housing Support Worker who is passionate about supporting women and children who are affected by domestic violence and other form of abuse. This is a fantastic new opportunity for you to play an integral role in providing support aimed at improving the experiences of survivors who access sanctuary provision to enable them to stay safely in their own homes.
The post holder will ensure that all survivors who benefits from the installation of target-hardening provisions within their home will be able to access wrap-around support to ensure that, once the installations are in place, they can rebuild their lives and recover from their experiences of domestic abuse. The support that the post holder provides will include:
- Providing improved home security tailored to the needs of the individual (e.g. extra locks/ bolts, stronger doors, spyholes/ chains for doors, security lighting, portable alarms, reinforcing windows, fire retardant letter boxes, smoke detectors and other fire safety equipment, house alarms, video entry systems, CCTV installation etc.).
- Individual risk and needs assessments re the individual household and the survivor (and their children if applicable).
- Develop personal support and safety plans in conjunction with the survivor.
- Ensuring a multi-agency response to households at risk of domestic abuse ensuring service users wider needs are assessed and provided with all the necessary support/ referred to the relevant support provider.
- Ongoing support to enable the survivor to cope with and recover from their experiences of DA.
Preferable candidates who is proficient in either of the following languages: Portuguese, Somali, French, Polish.

Citizens Advice and the Trussell Trust have come together to develop a free helpline for people struggling to afford the basics. Operating in England and Wales, the helpline offers personalized advice and support to help address the underlying causes of the hardship, as well as a quick and seamless referral to a food bank for people if required.
The aim of the service is to help people or households facing hardship to maximize their income. Our advisers also help to identify the need for wider advice (such as debt, immigration or housing, for example) directing people to specialist onward support. By addressing the underlying causes of the hardship, we hope to reduce the need for food bank support.
We’re seeking to recruit an experienced generalist adviser, with a focus on delivering telephone advice to clients which help them access food parcels from their local food banks, and to provide information and advice on the issues that are causing them financial hardship in order to move the client forward.
The successful post holder will need to cover the core hours of the service which will be 9am to 5pm, 3 days per week, Monday to Friday (closed on public holidays), and the adviser must have the willingness and ability to commit to a rota.
