We are looking for a Reward Manager for a 6 month fixed term contract. Our client is has multiple locations, mainly Chippenham and West Brom, with flexible Hybrid working arrangements for both.

The Reward Manager will play a key role in developing and delivering a reward & remuneration strategy in line with the people strategy, that enhances the organisation’s ambition to be regarded as an employer of choice and supports the organisation’s future growth and development plans, as well as ensuring the effective application, review and ongoing development of process and policy.

To develop and deliver pay, reward, benefits and performance strategy and policy which meets the ongoing and future organisational needs, in relation to the pay and reward agenda.

The Reward function is responsible for developing and maintaining pay and benefit frameworks to ensure competitiveness and equity, as well as the design and implementation of performance frameworks that encourage retention and reward high performance.

• Lead, support and deliver the design and development of the Reward & Remuneration strategy, ensuring that policy and practice is aligned to the business and people strategies
• Create a total Reward approach, combining a range of different pay and benefits offerings into a flexible framework which meets the diverse needs of employees
• Lead on the implementation of new and existing Reward programmes and initiatives, providing advice and direction to senior management and the People team
• Lead all aspects of Reward management and the annual Reward cycle, including annual salary review and organisational bonus schemes
• Responsible for managing key external partner relationships at a senior level, continually driving enhanced value from all contracts and ensuring quality service is delivered to the organisation
• Act as business expert in all matters relating to compensation and benefits, providing advice to key stakeholders

What we are looking for;

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Development

• Ensure that the organisation has a People and Culture Strategy that is aligned with and supportive ofthe organisation’s strategy, addresses staff feedback and reflects good practice in the sector.
• Ensure that the organisation has a suite of HR policies that facilitates the smooth running of theorganisation’s services, reflects the organisation’s values and includes anti discriminatory practices.
• Manage and monitor the implementation of these policies.
• Create an annual training and development plan which promotes business improvement, a positive culture and the professional development of our employees.
• Work closely with departmental managers’ in the role of business partner to address the strategic issues in their departments related to people and culture.
• Alongside the Chair, support and service the Union’s People and Culture Committee.
• Be responsible for the Union’s employer brand, using this to ensure that the Union can source and retain the staff necessary to deliver its services.
• Manage complex employee relations issues such as disciplinaries and grievances.
• Oversee complaints and student disciplinary processes.

Financial Management

• Prepare regular reports of KPIs for People and Culture as requested by the trustees and your line manager.
• Regularly review, update and rigorously enforce the organisation’s pay and grading policy with the input of the Head of Finance as appropriate.
• Contribute significantly to payroll processing and pension procedures.
• Oversee the processes for the student staff payroll.
• Ensure the smooth running of the HR department.

Governance

• Ensure compliance with right to work and other legislation relevant to the Union’s operations.
• Ensure that major processes within the Union are auditable and follow the Union’s formal procedures.

Staff Leadership and Development

• Drive a high performing, inclusive culture across Reading SU.
• Lead and inspire staff, providing clear direction, guidance, and support including giving and receiving feedback.
• Act as lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the Union. Ensure that our activities in this area reflect the values of the Union and the University.
• Foster a positive working environment, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, excellent customer service and a positive values led culture.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Operations Lead who will ensure the smooth running of CCX day-to-day operations. As lead of the Operations Team, you will oversee the finance, HR, coordination of data, IT applications and integration, and corporate governance functions.

The Gregory Centre for Church Multiplication (CCX) helps the Church make disciples in new and renewed ways. We work with willing partners across the Church to catalyse multiplication, equipping leaders through adaptive learning pathways.

We are an agile missional centre, on the edge of the institution. Our team seeks to be audacious, holding a God-shaped ambition; generous; and committed to working together.

CCX’s organisational structure is a hybrid management model, blending elements of both functional and project-based structures. Project teams are formed to address specific initiatives, tasks, or delivery projects. These teams are cross-functional, comprising individuals from different specialties, typically with a project manager working under the direction of a CCX lead. The two core teams of Operations and Media operate as shared services across the organisation.

Under the direction of the Bishop of Islington, a suffragan bishop of the London Diocese, CCX supports church planting and church growth work in London, nationally and beyond.

Collaboration and partnership will be key features of this role, working closely with the Bishop, Chief of Staff, and Team Leads. This role has a strong focus on agile and efficient systems development and improvement, resource optimisation and stakeholder engagement.

They are expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgement, including knowing when to resolve issues and challenges directly and when to escalate.

Key Duties and Accountabilities include:

● Ensure the deliverables of the CCX Operations Team are met in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.

● Establish and maintain agile operational structures and systems necessary for CCX's missions, including but not limited to finance, people management, procurement, IT and data management, business applications, corporate governance, and facilities management.

● Manage and supervise staff or contractors within the operations team to ensure effective performance, including roles such as Business Applications Manager, Finance and Office Manager, Data and HR Coordinator.

● Ensure the capacity and capability to provide support services to CCX team and stakeholders, such as dioceses, church leaders, church planters, TEIs, and Together partners, by recruiting and retaining skilled personnel and providing necessary resources.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to oversee the efficient and effective functioning of our organisation's key operational areas, including Operations, People management, Finance, Security and Compliance. The Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth implementation of our humanitarian programs while upholding the highest standards of excellence, accountability, integrity, collaboration and lifelong learning. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysing financial data to provide insights for decision making, leading policy reviews to improve procedures, and overseeing external audits. 
4. Operations Management: Streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability while availing technological advancement. This includes systems, IT, CRM, Facilities and vendor management. 
5. Security and Risk Management: Ensure security protocols are adhered to and risk management strategies are in place to safeguard staff, assets, and programme operations. Ensure that RedR’s Global Safety and Security Policy meets international standards, dealing with security concerns and incidents that arise and raising these as necessary. 
6. Resource Utilisation: Analyse resource requirements and utilisation across programmes, providing insights and recommendations; collaborate with programmes to develop strategies for optimising resource allocation and utilisation. THE ROLE
Responsible and accountable for evolving the Woodland Trust’s diversity and inclusion action plan to drive improvement and impact across our four pillars of success. The Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) will provide credible and inspirational leadership to continually review this plan, and implement key priorities around leadership and culture, providing expertise, challenge and support to the Executive Team and fellow senior leaders to do this.

Position Summary

We are in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) adept at turning strategic visions into operational realities. The COO will oversee daily operations throughout the sanctuary, ensuring excellence in health and safety practices, and fostering high team performance and growth. As a key partner to the CEO, this role demands a leader skilled in operational management and strategy implementation, preferably with experience in the third sector and a deep commitment to animal welfare.

Objectives of the role

1. Strategic implementation and operational leadership - working in close partnership with the CEO to integrate strategic objectives into the organisation's day-to-day operations. This will include focusing on enhancing process efficiency, ensuring operational excellence and maintaining budgetary control connected to operational issues.

2. Developing high performing teams – driving team excellence through targeted recruitment, comprehensive onboarding, ongoing professional development, and robust performance management strategies, ensuring team cohesion and high retention rates

3. Ensuring regulatory compliance and safety - maintaining rigorous adherence to all relevant charity and health & safety regulations, proactively ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, visitors and our equines.

4. Fostering a supportive culture - creating a work environment where commitment to our sanctuary's values and alignment with our vision and mission inspire and unite our teams.

5. Acting as a deputy for the CEO - representing the charity and making decisions in the CEO’s absence, ensuring leadership continuity and organisational stability.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

· Evaluating internal operations to identify and implement efficiency improvements

· Developing and implementing policies (in collaboration with the CEO and Trustees) that support the sanctuary's goals and ensure operational alignment.

· Overseeing daily operations across the estate, including visitor facilities, barn and paddock maintenance, and health and safety compliance, ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, visitors and equines.

· Directly overseeing the performance of our teams in Visitor Experience, Volunteering, Estates and Facilities, ensuring these areas not only operate efficiently but also focus on creating exceptional experiences for visitors and volunteers. This includes working closely with HR to foster successful recruitment, professional development, and other HR initiatives to build and sustain high-performing teams.

· Ensuring the sanctuary is ready and welcoming for visitors each day, effectively monitored and managed throughout the day and securely closed at night

· Health and safety leadership - spearheading safety initiatives and training a skilled team in safety protocols, ensuring a secure and safe environment for staff, volunteers, visitors and over 130 donkeys and ponies. The COO will work closely with the Head of Facilities and Estates Supervisor to enforce health and safety policies, address safety issues, as well as ensuring readiness and responsiveness for critical incidents, including fire and medical emergencies.

· Serving as the deputy for the CEO, including leading the sanctuary in the CEO’s absence, making critical decisions, and managing external relationships.

The above role encompasses an understanding that the sanctuary operates seven days a week and requires a willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed to ensure continuous leadership and operational excellence.

Reporting structure

Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will have the following direct reports: Head of Estates, Visitor Experience Manager, and Volunteer Manager.

Required skills and Experience

· A strong ethical commitment to animal welfare, demonstrated through previous work or personal advocacy, with the desire to make a positive impact in the community and beyond.

· A track record of managing operations effectively, demonstrating the ability to oversee day-to-day activities

· Proven experience in translating strategy into actionable plans

· Proven effectiveness in managing diverse teams and working with volunteers, highlighting the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of contributors towards common goals.

· Experience in budgeting, data analysis and using performance metrics to guide decisions.

JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Finance will be active in preparing monthly management accounts and commentary for the Senior Management Team.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the ongoing development of the financial systems, processes and procedures, monthly accounts, cash flow, as well as budgeting and forecasting.

BUDGETING & REPORTING

• Preparation of annual income and expenditure budgets for the Charity, working collaboratively with Heads of Department and members of SMT.
• Review and collate all Head office service costs and professional fees and calculate cross company charging for financial reporting.
• Provision of income and expenditure reports, variance analysis and reconciliation of fundraising activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet, metrics, and commentary.
• Provide a quarterly report for submission to the Board of Trustees
• Formulate monthly rolling forecast cashflow for the Charity and Trading Company including phased income budget and planned expenditure.

FINANCIAL SYSTEMS CONTROL

• Ensure the organisation operates robust accounting procedures and systems of internal financial control in line with current good practice and legislation.
• Oversee and facilitate the annual external audit but effective liaison with the auditors and preparation of accounts ready for inspection.
• Regular review of access rights and permissions for accounting, banking & HR software systems
• Ensure the Charity works in accordance with Charity SORP, HMRC, Charity Commission Regulations and other relevant bodies’ recommended code of practice.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation affecting finance, payroll & HR ensure this information is cascaded down to other members of the Team.

KNOWLEDGE

• ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with significant post qualification experience
• Excellent technical and analysis skills, including advanced Excel modelling and analysis.
• Knowledge of the Charity SORP and Charity Commission requirements and guidance

The organisation Working with a very well-established charitable foundation, the organisation comprises of three independent schools and two state-funded academies.

They are the holding company which owns the school land and buildings and manages the endowments valued at c.£50m. The Foundation Office delivers a "head office" type finance function for the Group and a range of other services to the schools, including governance and HR.

Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. The post reports to the Group Finance Director and the finance function are assisted by a part-time Finance Officer. The core part of the role is the production of the
annual report. You will also manage the group cash treasury system, managing 20+ bank accounts.

You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. The annual audit is also a major part of the work, and you will be expected to play a key part in the management of the audit and preparation of the financial information for both the Foundation, and its trading subsidiaries and charitable trusts. There are significant capital projects in the pipeline which will also require support.
What you will need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA)
Experience and Skills:

• Recent experience of group consolidation and reconciliation of intercompany balances
• Knowledge of Restricted, Designated and Unrestricted funds
• Some knowledge of education or charity sector trends.
• Experience of working effectively as part of a broad team across a group with subsidiaries.
• Excellent working knowledge of current accounting concepts and the ability to communicate financial information clearly and simply.
• Experience of producing statutory and management accounts.
• Experience of working with auditors from planning to audit clearance.

The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.
