The Job (in a nutshell)

Leading the Education partnerships team,  responsibility for the development of all Educaiton customers and for maintaining the income generation and young people targets in line with the overall Trust strategy and annual requirements.

Who we’re looking for

A dynamic individual who is capable of balancing the mix of future vision with everyday demands.

This a senior management position which is responsible for the strategic direction and the leadership day to day operation of our extremely busy Education Team. The role requires you to be strategic but pragmatic, balancing the mission and purpose of The Trust with tactical day to day delivery of Sales support and partnership working across the organisation.

You will manage a team of up to ten direct reports, and will also need to build strong relationships across The Trust with fellow Senior Managers and Directors, and most specifically with our Centre Management teams, Fundraising and Marketing Teams. You will need to balance carefully the needs of our internal and external customers, allocating time and resources accordingly. Also, The Trust has a new strategic plan looking at growth of the number of young people we work with, including the recently launched Schools Adventure Programme.

Your experience

We would love you to have a strong background in Sales with proven effective results but also having commercial acumen and experience, with the ability to think and act strategically. You will have a minimum of three years experience of leading, managing and inspiring teams. A supportive approach to the development and coaching of the team is an essential element within this. 

The ability to work confidently and flexibly across all Trust departments, supporting where required. 

A solid knowledge of the Education Sector for both Scotland and England as well as proven relationship building skills, and enjoyment of working collaboratively across departments and at all levels through effective communication. 

Working for the Trust requires a Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude to workload, able to multitask and re-prioritise projects at short notice.

Areas of repsponsibility

• Leadership and management of the Education Team, providing direction, challenge, support and development as appropriate. This will also involve coaching and supporting the team in their professional development, as well as in the management and execution of sales targets.
• Development and ownership of The Education Team’s annual revenue target, specifically looking at Charitable funding levels, volumes and occupancy levels across all centres.
• Ownership of and responsibility for all aspects of the Education sector, ensuring that all aspects of marketing, sales, customer service, delivery and finance are reviewed and implemented to a high standard with the overall objective of informing greater impact for the clients
• Working collaboratively with Early Careers Business Development and Summer Adventures to share ownership of the current capacity levels. Ensuring optimum fill and a responsible client mix.
• Building strong relationships internally and externally. Developing and supporting the Education Team with new initiatives and lead generation ideas.
• Supporting the centre operational teams to have clarity of the sector and a deeper awareness of the Education teams role and focus.
• Ownership of the Education cost centre budget, including the development of return on investment data wherever possible.
• Optimising the use of all internal CRM systems and associated reporting for management purposes.
• Contributing to the work of the wider senior leadership team as required, including attending and contributing to senior team discussions, acting as an ambassador for The Trust at events and conferences, supporting colleagues in other areas of The Trust’s work.

Location: Home-based with average 1 day per week in head office / centre location. The role will include considerable travel.

Settling in period

There is a 3-month settling in period from contract start date.

The Fundraising & Partnership Lead will report to the Head of Smart Works Birmingham and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income generation for the charity. In collaboration with the Head of Centre and Trustees, with the responsibility for Fundraising, the successful candidate will design and implement the centre’s annual income generation strategy. The position will concentrate on diversifying income streams, fostering corporate partnerships, and cultivating relationships across the West Midlands to support all fundraising initiatives, thereby ensuring the organisation's long-term sustainability.

Job Summary

The BSR education programme is a key benefit to members and the wider rheumatology community, providing updates on the essentials needed to deliver top-quality care for patients and ensuring professional development opportunities. 

This role sits within the Education team who are responsible for delivering BSR’s educational activity. Working alongside the Head of Education, the Education & Events Manager, Event Executive (Education) and the Digital Events Manager, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of education courses, webinars, bursary schemes and digital learning activities. You will work with the team to support the work of our Education Committee, Trainee Committee and Digital Learning Board. 

This is an exciting role for someone looking to get further hands-on experience in planning and executing a variety of educational events and activities and liaising with multiple stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team at the forefront of rheumatology education, making a tangible impact on the professional development of members and the broader rheumatology community.

Main Responsibilties 

Event & Course Coordination

• Lead on course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
• Support course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
• Support stakeholder management at education courses, including communications with patients, sponsors and event supporters.
• Occasional travel, including attendance and overnight stays at BSR courses, conferences and events.
   

Systems & Data Management

• Oversee the team’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and registration systems, ensuring data integrity, implementing system enhancements, coordinating stakeholders, and carrying out testing.

Project Coordination

•  Coordinate the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
• Coordinate the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
• Coordinate Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation of educational activities.
• Support the delivery of digital sponsorship and educational partnership opportunities.

Marketing & Communications

• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to create digital content to engage target audiences, including providing content for webpages, newsletters and delegate communications.

General Duties

• Manage the events inbox and education team enquiries, delivering excellent customer service and being the main point of contact for the team.
• Input into education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for owned projects.
• Support on reporting for and evaluation of all education activities and outputs, identifying impact and ways to improve.
• Support with BSR Committee liaison and logistics.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Education and the Education & Events Manager.

Please note: This role will require travel and overnight stays, for example at our in-person courses. As we are a small team you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in cross-departmental projects, lead or contribute to agile sprint working and support wider business needs. The Community Fundraising Lead will provide hands-on support and guidance to individuals and small volunteer groups across multiple regions, many of whom have championed the Charity for decades. You'll honour their values while ensuring the Charity's updated mission and messages are communicated clearly and consistently. Working with Marketing and Income Generation, you'll collaborate on projects, develop leads, and maximise fundraising activities with a strong focus on retention and long-term engagement.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will build on established networks, including loyal volunteer communities and church partners, overseeing initiatives such as our Ambassador programme so supporters feel confident representing the charity and sharing updates on national campaigns and community activities. You'll steward relationships at all levels, from pilgrim trek fundraisers to local bake-sale organisers, equipping volunteers with the tools, resources and recognition they need to thrive.

The successful candidate will be an empathetic, proactive relationship-builder with experience of community or volunteer-led fundraising and supporter stewardship. You'll bring strong communication skills, confidence working across faith and community settings, and the organisational flair to juggle multiple projects while maintaining excellent supporter care and compliance. About the role

The Senior Digital & Data Marketing Manager will own the design, delivery and continuous optimisation of PDSA’s digital and data marketing ecosystem to support fundraising and supporter-engagement goals. You will convert CRM insights into segmented, personalised journeys across email, direct mail and digital channels, improve website visibility and user experience, and introduce systems that make content easier to find and use.

Who we are looking for

We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic digital marketer with a strong appreciation of the charity sector and demonstrable experience of using data to drive fundraising and engagement.

Candidates will ideally have proven experience in digital marketing and data analytics within the non-profit or charity sector, with strong expertise in CRM systems, marketing automation, and analytics tools. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights and testable optimisation plans. You will also improve SEO, website performance, and email/direct marketing campaigns to drive conversion. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience managing agency and partner relationships, are a must. Leadership experience while operating with commercial awareness is valuable.

In addition, you will be familiar with fundraising strategy and donor engagement, as well as hold a professional digital marketing qualification.

About Sister System 

Founded in 2018, Sister System is a charitable organisation and an Open College Network (OCN) approved centre dedicated to empowering girls and young women aged 13-24 affected by the care system.

Our approach is co-designed with care-affected young women and girls to ensure that their lived experiences continue to drive meaningful change and shape our progression. Built on proven therapeutic models, our long-term mentoring, accredited qualifications, and leadership development programmes strengthen resilience, confidence, and essential life skills.

Our model seeks to break intergenerational cycles by equipping young women with the tools to thrive and lead change. Through a strong sense of community, peer networks, and trusted adult relationships, we create clear pathways into education, employment, and socio-economic stability, supporting a life free from abuse. 

Throughout her journey with Sister System, each girl participates in weekly one-to-one and group sessions focused on self-education and personal growth. These sessions explore the social and emotional transition to womanhood while building a supportive network of “sisters” who continue to empower one another during key life transitions. Our programmes are accessible to girls and young women at any stage of educational attainment, enabling all Sis-Stars to learn, grow, and thrive.

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year fundraising strategy that encompasses diverse income streams, working collaboratively with senior leadership to coordinate efforts and maintain an up-to-date fundraising pipeline.

• Steward high-value relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners while leading grant applications and proposals for six-figure funding opportunities.

• Strategically position Sister System for statutory funding by identifying government contract opportunities and ensuring the organisation remains competitive for local authority and national funding programmes.

• Oversee critical systems and processes including financial reporting, grant management cycles, board reporting, and line management duties while serving as an external ambassador for the organisation 

• Line manage a small fundraising team 

Essential Skills, knowledge, and behaviours: 

• Proven track record of developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies at a senior level. 

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding income targets across multiple income streams. 

• Experience managing multiple income streams, including statutory income, individual, corporate, and grant fundraising 

• Strong leadership and people management skills with experience of developing high-performing teams 

• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders

The Campaigns, Policy and Communications (CPC) directorate at Shelter researches and understands the full range of Shelter’s audiences, creates the content, products and strategies needed to engage and support them, and campaigns for the systemic change needed to end the homelessness and the housing emergency.

Digital and Audience Engagement is the window in and out of the organisation, through which we understand and engage the full array of audiences with an interest in Shelter.  The team gathers and interprets learning and insights on our work and our audiences, to inform Shelter’s communications, campaigns and service delivery. The team is also the curator of the most commonly accessed means by which supporters, campaigners, advice-seekers, service-users, professionals and others seek to understand and engage with Shelter
