Each year, Macmillan’s Mighty Hikes inspire thousands of people to take on marathon distance hikes across some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes, raising over £70 million to support people living with cancer.
We’re looking for a creative and results-driven Stewardship Manager to deliver of our inspiring multi-channel supporter journey for the 2026 Mighty Hikes series.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Stewardship Manager and working closely with the Events Officer, you’ll deliver an engaging, insight-led stewardship journey that supports and motivates Mighty Hikers before, during, and after their event.
In this role, your week might include:
- Creating inspiring and motivational email campaigns to help participants fundraise and train.
- Working with our registration platform provider – briefing development, using insight to optimise user’s journeys.
- Briefing creative agencies on content and assets that engage and inspire fundraising.
- Managing outbound calling campaigns with external agencies and tracking success.
- Analysing JustGiving data to report on fundraising performance and identify stewardship improvements.
- Line managing the Mighty Hikes Assistant, supporting their day-to-day activities and development.
This role includes weekend work, attending events to cheer on our participants (don’t worry – no desks involved!). You’ll receive time off in lieu, and while a full UK driving licence is preferred, a willingness to drive a van is a bonus.

About you:
We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporter engagement, strong project management skills, and a sharp eye for insight-driven optimisation.
You’ll need:

About hybrid working in this role
We have three offices; our Head Office in London and two workspaces based in Shipley and Glasgow. There are no fixed weekly office days for this role, and we support flexible, hybrid working arrangements. In terms of requirements for in-person attendance, the postholder will be expected to attend Challenge Events Away Days (quarterly), Mighty Hike team meetings (monthly) and reviews or planning meetings with key suppliers (these will be infrequent and arranged with as much notice as possible).

The post-holder is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the Society’s finance and CRM operations, including the National Eczema Society membership scheme. This is a full-time sole-charge role, managing the processing side of charity’s finance function, including managing purchase and sales ledgers, preparing payment runs, managing supplier reconciliations and month-end tasks.
You would join our small team based at the charity’s offices near London Bridge. There is flexibility for some home-based working and you are expected to work in the office at least two days a week to facilitate effective team-working. National Eczema Society offers help for staff studying for accounting exams.

Job Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway, working specifically in the West of the region. As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway. This will include barrier identification and removal, supporting pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area.
You will identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the West of Dumfries and Galloway, building an effective presence within the third sector locally. • Developing and maintaining good relationships with referral partners such as The Council, DWP, SDS etc to ensure a steady stream of referrals are received.

This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Hounslow & Hillingdon to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. Our service provision in Hounslow & Hillingdon includes number of refuges supporting survivors and their children.
The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based services staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.
The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.
Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting. In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.
You will have knowledge of relevant Criminal and Civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.
As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.
The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

Our work across Newcastle
Volunteering Matters play a vital role supporting volunteering in Newcastle. Since 2005, we have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN). This service provides a wide range of support around all things volunteering to 1250+ charities, organisations, and groups locally. Each year, we also support 2500+ members of the public who are interested in volunteering and need support to get started. We also lead the Home from Hospital and Community Support project where volunteers support older people with their transition home following a hospital admission.
In early 2025, we launched the Good Neighbours Newcastle project funded by Newcastle City Council. We deliver this project alongside our delivery partner organisation, Search Newcastle, with a second partner organisation scheduled to join in early 2026.
Good Neighbours project
We would all like to live in a place that has a sense of community, where people look out for their neighbours. The Good Neighbours project aims to foster a feeling of positive wellbeing and independence for those who may be socially isolated, or who don’t have many people around them, giving that “little bit of help”.
The project helps people in the community feel safe, supported, and more able to live an independent life, whilst preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal support through Adult Social Care. It also provides people the opportunity to volunteer a little time, in a flexible way, to make a difference in their own community. We know volunteering can lead to enhanced skills, and positive wellbeing. Volunteers provide practical or social support, completing “one-off’ or short-term tasks, supporting a neighbour. This includes tasks like collecting essentials, driving someone to a GP appointment, helping with odd jobs around the house, light gardening, or checking in with someone for a cuppa and chat.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Project Manager to join our team in Newcastle. The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of establishing new and exciting volunteering programmes.
This is a senior role within our Newcastle team so it is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people.

As Research Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of research grants from application through to delivery, supporting researchers and ensuring effective management of funding. You will also play a vital role in tracking and demonstrating the impact of Marie Curie’s research, helping to evidence the difference it makes for patients, carers, and services. Your expertise will directly contribute to building a stronger evidence base and closing gaps in palliative and end-of-life care.
Your Impact:
- Manage pre- and post-award research funding processes, including applications, reviews, contracts, and reporting.
- Act as the main point of contact for funded researchers, linking them with Marie Curie colleagues across policy and services.

About the Role

Your key contributions
Programme

Outreach
· Driving RF’s Outreach strategy in order to build and enhance visibility and recognition of RF and connect with young people who could benefit from our support
· Managing referral partner relationships across London (including schools, hospitals, young carer services and others), nurturing existing relationships and building new partnerships
· Organising events that inspire referrals to RF including delivering school assemblies, presenting at meetings and taking other external visits as required
· Analysing referral data to identify opportunities and strategically expand our reach where it's needed most
