Income Generation Manager Jobs in Islington, Greater London

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a passion for our mission to equip our organisation with the financial resources needed to meet our objectives as we work to scale our fundraising by growing our charitable income across all funding streams, maximising supporter engagement and fulfilling fundraising operational duties such as ensuring that we have a database that is organised, up to date and fit for purpose.

This is a new role, joining a small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will oversee most fundraising income generation activity.

The Fundraising Manager will build positive relationships to secure significant income and develop new relationships specifically with churches and individuals, bringing in regular and targeted income through regular donations, fundraising campaigns and events. The ideal candidate will have fundraising experience covering several areas including Individual Giving; Churches, Fundraising Appeals/Campaigns as well as experience in managing the operational aspects of fundraising (database, compliance with codes of practice and fundraising regulations, creating fundraising campaigns and ‘asks’). Through this, you will assist the whole organisation in our commitment to showing kindness, raising self-belief, and inspiring hope for the future in the individuals we serve. 

Main duties and responsibilities

Fundraising Overview

1. Develop, deliver, and monitor a fundraising strategy for Pecan.

2. Maximise the contributions and connections with local churches and individuals.

3. Coordinate all Appeals including the Pecan and Foodbank Christmas fundraising campaigns and Big Give Campaigns across all income and media streams.

4. Research and utilise new fundraising streams and opportunities across Pecan such as Payroll Giving, Legacies, in Memory Giving and Online Giving.

Supporter Engagement and Stewardship

1. Establish systems, procedures, proactive stewardship, and an engagement programme to provide the highest levels of service to Pecan’s supporters.

2. To be responsible for thanking all supporters and managing a supporter engagement journey – ensuring that effective processes are in place and driving levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

3. Act as the ‘first point of call’ for all supporters and managing complaints and issues, ensuring they are reported centrally within agreed procedures, that they are resolved or escalated as necessary and maintaining excellent communication with supporters throughout these processes.

4. Develop and implement stewardship programmes including reactivation of lapsed donors.

Database Management

1. Assist with setting up our CRM database with responsibility of developing and maintaining the database, ensuring efficient, appropriate data capture and analysis for the purpose of effective stewardship, fundraising and communications.

2. Maintain data management standards, assisting with the implementation of processes and policies ensuring best practice is followed.

3. Train other staff members to be able to use the database sufficiently.

4. Ensure all records, fundraising data and fundraising administration is kept up to date and all information is GDPR-compliant.

5. Reconcile fundraising income with the Finance Manager, including Gift Aid claims, missed, failed payments and Direct Debit cancellations.

Individual Giving

1. Develop an Individual Giving and Acquisition strategy that drives growth for individual giving across multi-channel campaigns and initiatives.

2. Lead all individual giving streams such as direct mail appeals, online donations, regular campaigns and appeals to maximise income generation.

3. Work with the Marketing Manager on fundraising communication and to ensure donors are kept up to date on the difference their support makes.

4. Develop campaigns and messaging that engages new segments and audiences.

Church Giving

1. Inspire churches to journey with us as we transform lives in Peckham.

2. Pioneer and develop a broad range of relationships with churches, organisations, and denominations across Southwark.

3. Work strategically with denominations to inspire partnership and engagement with Pecan across their networks and congregations.

4. Build a team of speakers who will host and speak at meetings with churches and Christian networks in Southwark.

5. Be willing to represent Pecan at external events, including Christian exhibitions and festivals, church talks etc…

6. Increase income from churches.

Fundraising Appeals and Campaigns

1. Work alongside teams and Partnerships Manager to project manage fundraising appeals and campaigns including Pecan at 35yrs; Christmas Campaigns etc.

2. Overall responsibility for Big Give Campaigns.

3. Oversight of Enthuse campaign pages.

4. Establish a corporate fundraising strategy with an accompanying narrative, alongside the Partnerships Manager, to explain the work of Pecan to potential company supporters.

5. Tailor campaigns and appeals for different audiences and supporters alongside Partnerships Manager to target corporates; smaller local businesses; individuals and churches.

Staff and Volunteers

1. Support with recruiting fundraising volunteers as appropiate.

2. Management of a part time Partnerships Manager with responsibility.

3. Work closely with Head of Services and Head of Food Services to ensure all fundraising is coordinated.

Wider organisational responsibilities

· Attend Pecan team meetings as and when required, including meetings where there may be a time of prayer and reflection.

· Read and adhere to all policies and procedures.

· Lead on applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies with support from the Head of Services.

· Undertake responsibilities associated with being a member of the Pecan team.

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research.

We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's  charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.
• Identify, add and manage a pipeline of prospective funders.
• Develop and implement a strategic income generation plan to and achieve annual revenue targets.
• Use the data base to manage reporting, indicator evaluation and to manager GDPR, Gift Aid (where appropriate) etc.
• Regularly report against the agreed KPI’s in the strategic income generation plan.
• Provide fortnightly written updates on activity.
• Identify and pursue prospective partners through research, networking and outreach.
• Develop tailored partnership proposals and pitches that articulate the mutual benefits to potential partners.
• Manage cultivation cycle - qualify, pitch, negotiate and close new business opportunities.

Micro Rainbow is a leading UK organisation working with LGBTQI people seeking asylum and LGBTQI refugees to enable them to live in safety, with dignity and to rebuild their lives. Our operational teams are based across the UK providing specialist support to LGBTQI people on: safe housing; navigating the complex asylum system; addressing homelessness and poverty; tackling social isolation and accessing health care, education, and employment.

Micro Rainbow is looking for an Individual Giving Manager to create an individual giving and fundraising strategy for the organisation. 2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the brain and spinal cord which affects different people in different ways. There are currently 2.9 million people in the world living with MS and currently there is no cure. But, Overcoming MS provides hope through lifestyle changes which are backed by scientific research and which enables sufferers to lead a full and healthy life with MS.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a small team of two, we are looking for support to create long-term and sustainable income streams that allow us to plan for strategic growth. This is likely to involve building a pipeline of corporate partners, major donors, and legacy pledgers to grow income over the medium to longer term as well as managing and developing relationships with prospective high value donors.

The appointed candidate is likely to bring demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, regularly reviewing them and monitoring against KPIs. You are likely to be a strategic and creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to be able to identify and harness new opportunities and trends to drive income growth. As such a solid understanding of income generation opportunities outside of regular fundraising income streams would be helpful.

The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. You will have a clear ability to tailor the way we sell our services to potential clients.

You will lead and support others across the company to communicate our service offering to external stakeholders that will directly contribute to the company’s growth strategy and impact.

The Partnership Manager will also be a key member of the department and contribute to, departmental strategies, systems and maximising efficiency, and communicating our brand values and services that attracts a wide range of clients.

In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Communications and Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Programme and Finance teams.

Essential Experience

• Have a minimum 5 years sales and client relationship experience

• Proven success in a similar role, with a track record of securing income through multi-year partnerships

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly within the education and/or corporate sector.

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

• Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities and initiatives to grow the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee the delivery of our Regular Giving programmes and will also manage relationships with high-level donors to identify and securing major gifts.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

Overview of the role

About this Role

Together with the Director of Fundraising, the Philanthropy Manager will develop and deliver the Philanthropy Strategy, with the support of the Philanthropy Assistant.  This is a significant part of the organisation’s overall Supporter Engagement Strategy which focuses specifically on unrestricted income generation.  This role will raise unrestricted income through the development of Amref UK’s Major Gifts programme - the Mbele Movement - by identifying and cultivating new high net worth supporters, and inspiring them to make unrestricted, multi-year major gifts, in line with the Philanthropy Strategy. The Philanthropy Manager is also responsible for nurturing and growing our existing portfolio of philanthropists and philanthropic organisations by building strong relationships and securing unrestricted income in line with the Supporter Engagement Strategy.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. The full programme is listed on the CVAA UK website and inlcudes topics such as LGBTQ+ parenting; therapy for children; identity formation; racism and anti-racism; parenting courses; theraplay and many more.

Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the administration and delivery of the programme. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent. We are keen to have someone joiun us as soon as possible.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development to ensure that the courses are full, supported, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care.
