About the role

We are looking for a Head of Financial Operations, who will provide leadership and development to the Financial Transactions Team and the Local Groups Finance Team during a period of transition to new systems and processes. 

You will lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors and other external advisors. Additionally, you'll be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and reporting processes throughout the charity by leveraging data and digital tools.

What you’ll do

• Lead on the Annual Accounts production and act as key contact to the Auditors and Governance Team. 

• Continuously drive improvements and actively contribute to the Finance Transformation to finance processes and systems (will also lead on the implementation of a new finance system when budget is assigned)

• Act as lead, mentor and coach to the Financial Accounting Team and identify opportunities to improve processes. 

• Manage financial risks and improve internal controls through compliance to relevant governance

What you’ll bring 

• Proven experience of leading the Annual Accounts production and ability to distill and present it to a wide range of non-finance stakeholders 

• A CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant with excellent technical financial accounting skills, including knowledge of relevant accounting principles, VAT and fund accounting

First Steps ED provide person-centred support to our service users for a range of disordered eating and eating disorder presentations.

The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead on the development and implementation of strategies to diversify and grow our income streams, strengthen our brand, and increase engagement with key audiences. • Digital Agency and PR Management: Oversee the work of digital agencies and PR consultant to enhance online presence and engagement with public relations and media outreach.
• Ambassadors and Patrons Management: Engage and manage relationships with ambassadors and patrons to leverage their support and influence.
• Web Development Leadership: Lead the development and maintenance of the charity's website to ensure it effectively supports fundraising and communication efforts as well as providing clear and concise support to our service users, carers and professionals.
• Manage our portfolio of events: We have an emerging trend in challenge events, and we manage these carefully and mindfully especially long-distance sporting events. This requires key insights in trends and work with our marketing team on key insights.
• Working with the CEO: You will identify opportunities for strategic communications and growth. You will network with likeminded individuals from other charities and build sector connections.
• Senior Leadership Team: You will be an integral part of our Senior Leadership Team, which means working across the whole charity on tasks that may pop up, and planning with the team our Organisational Development.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior fundraising and communications role, preferably within the charity sector.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Relationship Management, or a related field.

Skills:

• Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.

About the role

You’ll lead the production of Annual Accounts for the Charity and its subsidiaries and oversee the wider Financial Accounting Team. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Financial Operations and contribute to Finance Transformation initiative.

About the role

We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.

As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.

You will prepare papers for and attend the quarterly Finance Committee meetings and will liaise with a range of stakeholders including auditors, the bank and investment managers.  You will be the ‘go to’ business partner at the charity, supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer.

You will manage a team of two colleagues – a Senior Finance Officer and a Payroll Manager – providing them with guidance, coaching and support to enable them to perform effectively. You will also collaborate and work with Directors and senior managers across the organisation to inform them on performance against budget and conditions of funding, as well as supporting fundraising and commissioning bids. 

You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to supporting transformational change in our processes and systems, as well as dealing with, and leading on, the day-to-day financial management.

Essential requirements include:

• Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

About the team 

The Data Operations Team sits within the wider Supporter Experience and Operations team, within the Mass Engagement Department at WaterAid. The team is responsible for enabling a high-quality supporter experience through best in class data operations, ensuring tasks are effectively managed across the team. This role leads on all aspects of data imports, Direct Debit processing and Gift Aid claims, enabling WaterAid UK to maximise its fundraising potential, ensuring compliance with financial and data regulations and maintaining high data quality standards.

About the role 

As our Data Operations Manager, you will ensure the accuracy and efficient management of data imports and core income processes such as the Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. You will work closely with key stakeholders in Performance and Insight, Finance and Mass Engagement to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will: 

• Manage the day-to-day data operations (including data imports, Direct Debit submissions, submitting Gift Aid claims to HMRC)
• Line Manage two Data Operations Officers, providing support, coaching and mentoring 
• Manage the workload and responsibilities of the Data Operations Team, ensuring that tasks are carried out on schedule and within agreed SLAs 
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy through automation or system enhancements 
• Build strong operational relationships with key stakeholders in the Data Engineering and CRM teams, as well as with WaterAid’s third party agencies, to identify areas for improvements and rapid problem fixing, particularly in relation to managing data rejects 
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding. 

Requirements

To be successful, you will need: 

• Excellent problem solving and communication skills 
• Strong experience of using relational database packages and working with large and complex data sets 
• Experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change 
• Experience of measuring and reporting on team performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 
• Experience of using SQL 
• Knowledge of BACS, Direct Debit and Gift Aid HMRC regulations 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have: 

• Good working knowledge of the architecture and functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 
• Demonstrable experience in Direct Debit and Gift Aid processing 
• Experience using Azure DevOps

Duties and responsibilities:

1.Lead and Develop Shop Teams

You’ll provide inspirational leadership to a team of Shop Managers and volunteers, supporting them to reach their full potential. This includes overseeing recruitment, training, regular one-to-one meetings, and performance management to ensure each shop team is motivated and high-performing.

2. Drive Sales and Maximise Profit

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the promotion of Bikeability, the Government’s national cycle training programme, as a key member of the management team.

The Head of Marketing and Communications is responsible for the creation, development and delivery of marketing and communications activity with both internal and external audiences, including the Bikeability industry, schools, parents, the general public, media, and key stakeholders.

You will head up a team of talented communication experts, as part of the Strategy team, ensuring the delivery of all communications activity, including marketing campaigns, social media, press relations, industry engagement, and communications support to our public affairs strategy.

You will have excellent experience of delivering outstanding marketing and communications campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive service demand. You will have a collaborative approach and enjoy working as part of a team.  You will report to the Director of Strategy and be actively engaged in advising the executive team and trustees. 

Responsibilities:  

Lead the Promotions and Communications team to: 

• Develop and deliver The Bikeability Trust’s marketing, communications and media activities, including campaigns and project communications

• Manage relevant contracts with external agencies, including website management and graphic design

• Deliver the Bikeability social media programme to key audiences including parents, schools, internal Bikeability industry, and general public for wider awareness 

• Deliver communications support for Bikeability industry through a programme of regular communications 

• Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to deliver effective project communication deliverables 

• Effectively manage team budget 

• Use media monitoring and brand tracking to evaluate impact and manage brand reputation

• Ensure evaluation and impact of communications work is collated and learning shared.

Essential Skills and Experience
