About the role:

A safe place to live can be the foundation for someone to rebuild far more than their housing. As Services Manager for our Lewisham Vulnerable Adults Accommodation Service (LVAAS), you’ll lead a service supporting adults who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage, creating the conditions for people to feel safe, regain control and move towards greater independence. SHP LVAAS is split across two staffed Hubs and operates a floating support model to people living independently in their homes.

You’ll hold the bigger picture for the service while empowering your Team Manager and frontline colleagues to deliver excellent support day to day. From safeguarding, risk and service quality to housing management, occupancy, move-on, budgets and performance, you’ll make sure the service is safe, responsive and continually developing. You’ll champion psychologically informed, strengths-based practice and make sure clients’ goals, choices and lived experience genuinely shape the support they receive.

This is also a role built on relationships. You’ll work closely with Lewisham commissioners, referral partners, health and treatment services and other agencies to solve problems, challenge barriers and connect people with the right opportunities and support. You’ll bring calm judgement when situations become challenging, use information and learning to strengthen practice, and build a culture where staff feel trusted, supported and accountable.

At Single Homeless Project (SHP), you’ll be supported to keep developing too, with access to learning and development opportunities and the chance to build your leadership experience and progress your career across a diverse organisation.

About you:

• Experience of leading high-quality accommodation or support services for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage, with the confidence to lead effectively through managers and frontline teams.
• Sound judgement around safeguarding, risk and challenging situations, with the ability to balance different priorities and make clear, proportionate decisions when the pressure is on.
• A strong understanding of person-led, strengths-based and psychologically informed support, and how to turn those principles into consistently good practice across a service.
• Confidence overseeing the operational detail that keeps a service strong — including housing management, performance, budgets, resources and continuous improvement — without losing sight of the people behind the numbers.
• The ability to build credible relationships with commissioners, partners, colleagues & local communities - bringing people together around solutions and challenge barriers when they are getting in the way of better outcomes for clients.
