SMART is hiring! We are looking for full time Employment Advisers to provide support to people who face barriers to obtaining and/or retaining employment, due to mental ill-health. This includes people looking for work, as well as those who are currently employed but struggling.

Ideally you will: have experience of working with people who have mental health needs/emotional difficulties in an employment setting; proven experience of meeting (or exceeding) outcomes and targets; be knowledgeable about relevant laws and policies relating to employment, disabilities and equal opportunities; have experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams and; be able to liaise with other services and professionals on service users’ behalf.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and curation to the FYT Leadership Team, and to lead the smooth running of the FYT Organisation which supports the wider FYT Movement. This will include coordinating the delivery of the strategic plan, leading fundraising, and working closely with the FYT Board to oversee the smooth running of the organisation.

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week
Salary: £24,116 per annum (£40,194 pro rata) + 9% pension
Holidays: 5 weeks plus bank holidays and 3 additional days at Christmas
Location: Working from home, with nationwide travel expected

Key Responsibilities:

4. Work with the Finance Officer to manage the budget and finances within the parameters agreed by the Board.
5. Facilitate the effective function of the Leadership Team, enabling the smooth and efficient carrying out of the strategic priorities.
6. Provide Line Management support and supervision to the other members of the Leadership Team.
7. Develop, implement and monitor FYT’s strategic plan in partnership with the FYT team and board
8. Engage in practical theological reflection on FYT’s mission and how it is expressed.
9. Attend and contribute as required to Board meetings, working closely with the Chair and Board to ensure that appropriate issues are raised, and that any agreed action is put into effect.
10. Be an advocate for marginalised young people, the issues they face, and youth workers and projects working with them (pursuing prophetic mischief, provocation, and taking up our unique space in the youth ministry community).
11. Make links with appropriate Christian, voluntary and statutory bodies and to represent FYT in appropriate forums and pursue opportunities for collaborative working.
12. Support the active promotion of the FYT training and resource offer.
13. Lead the monitoring and evaluation (impact assessment) of FYT’s work

Other functions:

1. Meet regularly with Line Manager for supervision.
2. Undertake administration and keep necessary work records.
3. Comply with all FYT policies and procedures.
4. Work collaboratively with the FYT leadership team and Board to ensure that organisational policies are regularly reviewed.
5. Engage in CPD/lifelong learning.
6. Undertake any other tasks that may be requested, commensurate with the nature and level of the post and as may be required by the Board of Trustees.

Additional Information

• The Leadership Team is supported by a contract with Giraffe HR that assists in the day to day running of the organisation, primarily managing the finances of the organisation.
• Engagement in ongoing, regular youth work with marginalised young people is not a requirement of this post, but encouraged. FYT will be flexible where possible in order to facilitate this.

• Ownership of the purchase ledger system, administering the entire process of invoice receiving, checking, coding, distributing for approval, posting to the accounts software (currently Sage), setting up domestic and international payments for authorisation, and electronic filing of documents.
• Administering all credit card returns including distribution of statements to colleagues, checking and coding returns, collating documents, submitting for line-manager approval, posting to Sage and following up on outstanding items.
• Administering staff and contractors expense claims, advances, returns and funds transfer requests, including checking and coding, submitting for budget-holder approval, arranging payment both domestic and international, and electronic filing of documents.
• Recording project expenditure against budget and drafting project financial returns to meet funder deadlines.

About the role

The Director of Membership Services provides strategic leadership for the Membership Services directorate and is therefore responsible for the development and implementation of all Imperial College Union strategy relating to Student Activities, Representation, Advice, Governance and Policy. The role

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full-Time (35 hrs per week)

Place of work: Hybrid, with a requirement to attend the office in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, once a month and 4 times a year for our mandatory All Staff Together days.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for our mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days.

Finance Assistant (Income)

Salary: £16,320 pa (£27,200 FTE)

Hours:  Part time (21 hours to be worked over a minimum of 3 days between Monday to Friday)

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make an impact in the delivery of the income accounting provision at Hastoe.

You will assist our Management Accountant with the accounting, management and reconciliation of Hastoe’s solar photovoltaic portfolio, including the income that Hastoe receives from Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) payments. You will also assist with general management account duties.

The role will require close working and collaboration with colleagues within the Finance team and wider organisation (in particular our Housing and Property services teams), as well as communicating externally with other stakeholders regarding our PV panel portfolio. You will also need to liaise with Hastoe’s FIT licencee and other external organisations.

You will also assist with an exciting project to modernise Hastoe’s PV panel metering and data collection processes.

Duties will include:

• Assist the Management Accounts team to input accruals, Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) payment schedules and invoices relating to Hastoe’s solar photovoltaic (PV) panel portfolio.
• Assist with administration for said PV panel portfolio, accessing online portals, monitoring status of PV panels and payments.
• Liaise with Hastoe’s FiT licensee(s) to submit and receive information relating to the panels.
• Assist with the maintenance and servicing as required of the PV panel portfolio, working closely with Hastoe’s Property Services Team.
• Assist with completing reconciliations to ensure payments are allocated and accounted for correctly.
• Assist with reconciliations, month-end and other management accounts functions.
