We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager to join our team in the South Region to lead on the delivery and development of advocacy contracts across VoiceAbility’s portfolio. About you
We are looking for a skilled and experienced contract management professional with a strong understanding of third sector commissioning and service delivery. You will have a proven ability to manage and monitor complex contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and funding conditions. You’ll be confident in building and maintaining relationships with commissioners, funders, and delivery partners.
You will be highly numerate, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to produce clear, insightful reports that demonstrate impact, value for money, and continuous improvement. You’ll be comfortable working with data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and will support operational teams to address underperformance and drive service excellence.
We are looking for someone who can balance the retention of existing contracts with a proactive approach to identifying and supporting new opportunities for growth and innovation in the third sector.

How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. All Employees are homebased meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.
When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).
VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

About the role

The Role

We require someone with excellent skills and knowledge in communications, public relations and marketing with at least two years’ experience working in a busy and varied communications role. Wherever you are located, maintaining ongoing positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important. Job Title: Deputy Service Manager
Location: In Service based in Croydon, CR0 1EB. You will be required to work across multiple services within the area.
Salary: £30,200
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday, working across a rota which will include day and night shifts as we provide a 24 hour service.
About the role
We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will provide support and supervision sessions at night, and general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles. You will further ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements to the residents. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. You will work closely with the day teams to ensure a smooth handover from the day to night.
This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals.
The role includes:
- Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
- Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
- Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
- Property and Housing Management, ensuring the accommodation meets our requirements, and repairs and maintenance are regularly reported and completed
- Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management
- Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

Someone who is knowledgeable in the needs of our residents, particularly mental health and can support the team in delivering excellence. About the role
The Maritime Lead Trainer will plan, manage and deliver all maritime apprenticeship programmes and adult skills qualifications and to enable learners’ successful achievement and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- To plan engaging and effective face to face and remote teaching sessions for all apprentice and adult learner programmes.
- To teach and assess the knowledge and practical skills required to meet apprenticeship standards in line with own expertise.
- To conduct workplace observations and carry out progress reviews for apprentices
- To devise and mark vocational assignments in line with awarding organisation requirements.
- To provide constructive feedback, guidance and tutorial support for apprentices and learners
- To oversee other peripatetic trainers as required in the delivery of programmes

Requirements
- Proven track record of teaching apprenticeships and/or vocational qualifications in the last five years
- Strong understanding and knowledge of maritime sector technical training e.g. MCA, RYA
- Good understanding of post 16 regulatory standards and awarding organisation quality assurance processes
- Teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms

The Role

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of People, the Head of People Services is responsible for leading the delivery of a quality and customer focused core people service to MSF UK. Our residents in this service have experienced long-term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.
In this role, as a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provided person centred support to our residents, working to ensure the safety and wellbeing. You will build trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins. Your role will focus on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals.
