The Helpline Team Manager is a key leadership position within our helpline team, responsible for managing and supervising a team of Helpline Advisors. This role plays a critical role in the daily operations of the Helpline, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services to our service users affected by gender-based violence and abuse. The Helpline Team Manager will work closely with the Head of Helplines and other key stakeholders to develop, enhance, and grow the Helpline service.
 
We’re looking for someone with a trauma-informed approach to supporting survivors. You’ll need to have good resilience and self-care, and a strong understanding of the needs of LGBT victims and survivors.
 
There is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT victim/survivors of violence and abuse.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that will shape how the charity uses data, research and insight to drive significant growth in income from major donors, corporate partners and other high-value supporters. You will lead the Prospect Research function, developing and delivering a proactive, insight-led prospect research strategy to support the charity’s ambitious fundraising goals, as well as working to identify potential major donors amongst individuals, trusts and corporates.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in prospect research including identifying and prioritising prospects, network mapping, ethical screening and developing gift capacity ratings. You will be a proactive, strategic thinker with a collaborative outlook and a high attention to detail.  You will also possess excellent analytical and communication skills. Experience in setting up or significantly developing a prospect research function would be an advantage.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. Under direction, to help ensure that the support for all new and ongoing cases is provided by ensuring contact is made within set timescales and according to set protocols.

ii. To ensure timely referral to the operations team when a volunteer drops out or a need for extra help is identified.

iii. To help answer all incoming calls general queries relating to community service support for our clients.

iv. Throughout the course of your work to ensure you record your responses on each individual case on our database. To contribute to the team by helping to also update volunteer information from each telephone conversation. 

v. Under direction, to assist with responses to both incoming and outgoing to DL letters and update each case, to ensure a prompt reply and timely referral where necessary.

vi. Throughout the course of your work, to identify when on the phone, possible good stories to enable us to approach and persuade all individuals involved to submit an article for the newsletter.

vii. To handle telephone inquiries and relay messages where appropriate.

viii. To demonstrate a proactive, positive and flexible attitude to all our clients.

ix. To have flexibility to work additional hours for holiday and sickness cover when directed.

x. To liaise with all other staff of the Trust in a flexible manner.

About you

You must have lived experience of mental health-related challenges and understand the difficulties clients face and be able to work respectfully with empathy and sensitivity. Experience in safeguarding issues and working with a diverse range of clients, including isolated individuals and communities, is essential.

Key responsibilities :

• Responsible for providing public affairs, policy and stakeholder engagement support across the External Affairs team, working on the development and delivery of our External Affairs plan, including management and delivery of events.
• Lead the development of briefings and other assets to support the delivery of external affairs work through high quality research and analysis
• Monitor the external political and policy landscape for developments that are relevant to the Fund and advise colleagues on these as appropriate
• Represent the Fund at networking and stakeholder events

We currently have an excellent administrator opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides much needed free support to local older people who have been discharged from hospital or become unwell in the community – with a particular emphasis on those living alone and without family support. 

Our small team of team & volunteers are  involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge and make homes safer to avoid admission – including fitting keysafes, moving furniture, shopping, giving advice and coordinating with health & social teams. 

This busy role will include:

- Taking referrals into the service and adding to the CRM / database.

- Updating CRM / database and gathering information for the team to support clients.

- Coordinating Nightingale staff and volunteers to ensure tasks essential for a safe discharge are complete.

- Ensure the individual receives the support/services they need taking a holistic approach – working and communicating with staff, referrers, clients, family members, carers, social workers, hospitals and other Age UK Richmond and voluntary sector services.

Advocacy Support Cymru (ASC) is a registered charity with offices in Cardiff and Swansea. We provide Independent Mental Health and Mental Capacity Advocacy Services across most of South Wales, employing 44 employees.

About the role

The post holder will provide support to clients who lack capacity and to implement the safeguards of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 or the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. They will provide non-instructed advocacy (NIA) support to people who lack capacity to make specific decisions and who have no-one else to support them. The successful candidate will travel efficiently and effectively within the Advocacy Support Cymru area of operation.

This role will operate within Swansea Bay University Health Board and the Hywel Dda University Health Board Area.

You will have experience working with vulnerable adults and/or children, either within health or social care setting, or indirectly, for example as a carer. You will understand and have experience of working effectively in an intra-agency context with Health and Social Care Professionals. The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

Abilities/Experience

• Experience in a similar position working across departments and teams to provide support - or a demonstratable ability to do this 
• Experience of using digital platforms for for scheduled and ad hoc administrative processes, including relating or organisation's operations or other functions 
• Ability to perform financial administrative tasks, such as expenses administration, using relevant software
• Excellent organisational and time management skills 
• Ability to prioritise competing commitments and work accurately and methodolically under pressure and work tight deadlines
• Ability to properly deal with sensitive / confidential information
• Experience working within a small but close-knit team
• Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision 
• Ability to buy strongly into strategic objectives and reflect passion for Khulisa's work with and for Young People
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings when required 

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
• A commitment to Khulisa's work 
• Some knowledge of Salesforce or other similar CRMs

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance with a learning disability charity, on a full-time, permanent basis. As Head of Finance, you will report directly to the Chief Executive. You will partner with members of the EMT to successfully and sustainably deliver the charity’s annual budget, growth plans, achieve organisational performance and effectiveness and jointly manage organisational risk.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with 1 day per week required in the office.

As Head of Finance, you will:

- Maintain and develop robust financial systems that ensure the utmost standards of governance and financial compliance, delivering a clean audit annually

- Manage the annual budgeting, forecasting, planning and treasury process ensuring the organisation remains on a sustainable footing

- Advise the CEO and Executive Management Team on all matters relating to financial performance

- Lead, motivate and manage the finance team

- Be responsible for the management of the external IT contract and organisational lead of information technology

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity and care sectors, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc)

- Have good working knowledge of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)

- Have a successful track record of leading high achievement teams

- Have experience of managing payroll, pension enrolment, VAT and finance systems

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
