About the Roles: We are seeking a dedicated full time Paralegal to work in our Bristol Actions Against the Police (AAP) department and three Paralegals to work in our Public Law Department, one being based in London and two in Bristol. After 12 months provided you achieve certain criteria the job will progress to a training contract. We structure our training in this way to ensure once qualified you are able to work at a solicitor level.

The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations is required to lead a wide range of activities. You will be expected to manage your own time, prioritising tasks and leading a small team of people who contribute to CARAS’ fundraising. You will work closely with the CEO, and the senior leadership team which draws together Heads of Service from each of our programme areas. RESPONSIBILITIES  

Fundraising 

• Line-manage our Fundraising Officer and work together to generate income to meet CARAS’s budgetary targets through trusts and foundations, individual giving, community fundraising and other means at our disposal. 

• Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which synchronises with the CARAS Strategic Plan.

• Research and maintain a real-time pipeline of fundraising opportunities and oversee delivery. Lead or allocate all income generation opportunities in good time so that appropriate co-design and decision-making processes are behind applications. 

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in CARAS’s database. 

• Ensure compliance with best practice in fundraising including use of data and confidentiality. 

• Work collaboratively with Heads of Service and CARAS’ Finance Manager to develop, deliver and iterate systems to ensure grants are accurately and effectively managed. 

• Work closely with CARAS leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth. 

• Lead on the development of programmatic and core budgets for diverse grant funders. 

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate CARAS’s impact, values and plans.  

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.  

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies. 

Reporting & Stewardship  

● Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.  

• Develop CARAS’ outcomes report and donor report ensuring they are data rich and clearly demonstrate impact. 

• Monitoring the wealth of data CARAS collects through our frontline service to ensure we stay agile and adaptable within a changing policy context, supporting Heads of Service and other relevant stakeholders to deliver excellence. 

Collaboration with Finance 

• Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager to ensure the rigorous financial management across all income and expenditure to ensure all grants and donations are accurately accounted for and spent. 

• Working collaboratively with the Finance Manager and CEO, develop the organisational annual budget and lead on income projections for the year ahead to ensure expenditure budgets are feasible and unlock multi-year growth. 

Governance 

• Contribute to the maintenance of up-to-date policies relevant to the role.

• Attend board meetings as requested to share reports with the Board on fundraising.

• Work closely with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee on fundraising strategy. 

Cross-Organisational Contribution  

● Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.  

● Build strong internal relationships and stay connected to CARAS’s work by attending occasional programmes, events and residentials.  

● Contribute ideas and support the fundraising team’s broader work (e.g. campaigns, supporter communications).  

● Engage with programme staff to gather stories and data that demonstrate CARAS’s impact.

The Role

Lord John Bird - cross bench peer, founder and Editor-in-chief of the Big Issue and committed campaigner in the fight to end poverty - is looking for a highly motivated individual to support his work in and around parliament, enabling the smooth running of his parliamentary office, support his work on the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, facilitate parliamentary interventions, manage parliamentary events, and accompany him to meetings.
 
This is a role with real impact. Based in Lord Bird’s Westminster office you will also work closely with the team at the Big Issue Group (based in Finsbury Park) to develop and build policy and media opportunities.
 
You will be a self-starter with previous Parliamentary experience - with an understanding of political advocacy, parliamentary processes and the ability to work across party boundaries, be a clear and confident communicator, have strong demonstrable research skills and possess an understanding and passion for the work of the Big Issue Group and Lord Bird.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Mental Health & Wellbeing Project Worker to contribute to the development and delivery of flexible support services which address the psychological and emotional needs of children, young people and families living with the effects of domestic abuse, in North Tyneside and Northumberland. You will help to develop, organise and facilitate key aspects of the service as requested by the Team Coordinator such one-to-one support interventions, group work, and youth participation opportunities in a variety of settings including in-house, schools and community venues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver flexible one to one support sessions, using a range of interventions to assess and positively contribute to the individual wellbeing needs of children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.
• Support service users, particularly within the 11-16 age group to develop personal and life skills, promoting self-esteem and independence, and raising awareness of other support services and opportunities available to them and their families.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of group work, activities and events, including the continued development of service user participation
• Work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure coordinated care and refer service users to additional sources of help and protection as needed.
• Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and equal opportunities policies while maintaining accurate and confidential records, reporting appropriately, and complying with organisational guidelines.
• Participate in training, supervision, and team activities, contributing flexibly to service development and supporting broader organisational goals as required by management.

About You

• Holds qualifications and relevant experience in social care, childcare, youth work, or a therapeutic field
• Experience working directly with children and young people with an excellent understanding of common issues relating to child development, mental health and wellbeing
• Experienced in one-to-one casework, group facilitation, youth programmes, and multi-agency working, with a proven ability to assess needs and connect individuals to appropriate support services.
• Effective communicator with the ability to engage sensitively and non-judgementally with service users, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to empowering individuals.
• Skilled in managing workloads, maintaining accurate records, writing reports, and meeting deadlines under pressure, with strong time management and attention to detail.
• A motivated, flexible team player who values equality and diversity, and brings creativity and initiative to their practice.

We're looking for a Democracy Coordinator to help support and grow Arts SU's democratic spaces. You'll play a key role in making sure students are involved, informed and empowered through forums, elections and other democratic activities. You'll oversee our Ideas Platform and work closely with sabbatical officers and teams across UAL to keep these spaces student-led and relevant. You'll also be the operational lead for our student elections - from technical set-up to support candidates and making sure everything runs fairly and transparently. You'll help develop policies, run training sessions, promote democratic engagement, and be the go-to person for students with questions about how the SU represents students. It's a varied role that puts students at the hear of decision-making while making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Working with the pathfinder partnership, you will create, develop and deliver tailored support pathways to women across Greater Manchester who have experienced sexual violence and present with additional complex mental health needs. 

The pathfinder partnership joins up services in the VCSE sector across Greater Manchester (including We Are Survivors, Greater Manchester Rape Crisis & MASH) and works closely with NHS services to provide survivors of sexual violence with increased access to mental and physical health support.

You will:

• Design and develop individually tailored care plans and pathways for clients in the service.
• Undertake individual risk and needs assessments for clients entering the pathway.
• Deliver 1:1 trauma-informed, survivor-centred therapeutic interventions.
• Work within a multi-agency partnership to liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies.
