Wildlife Supporter Officer (Face-to-Face Membership Recruiter)
Wanted in the following locations: Staveley Nature Reserve, near Harrogate; Moorlands Nature Reserve, near York; Dearne Valley Country Park, near Barnsley; or Stirley, near Huddersfield
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust are looking for chatty and confident nature lovers to join our successful team and inspire the public to take urgent action for wildlife and wild places through membership.
You will be on the very front line of our charitable nature conservation mission, utilising your strong sales skills and your friendly and persuasive personality to encourage people to give us their financial support to bring about nature’s vital recovery.
A typical working day will revolve around enthusing everyone you meet to take small and manageable steps to becoming a force for nature. You will work at a variety of events and locations across Yorkshire, including our very own nature reserves, farmers' markets, shopping centres, country shows and major festivals. Here you will pass on your passion for our charity's work and inspire people to support us with the help of a fully-branded gazebo and interactive display set up.
Experience in sales and fundraising within either the private or charity sector would be a distinct advantage, through full training and support will be given. You will represent us in a professional manner at all times, understand and adhere to fundraising regulations and keep up to date with our work by conducting your own research and attending team meetings, both virtually and in-person.
To be successful in this role, you must have your own vehicle with business insurance.

The Public Affairs and Policy Manager will play a crucial role in helping to determine and shape TMs policy goals and how best to achieve them. Working closely and collaboratively with colleagues from across the organisation, and in close consultation with the TMs internal and external stakeholder groups and networks you will develop policy, research and campaigning projects to meet the organisations strategic objectives. You will be able to understand complex policy issues, recognise their relevance to the Traveller Movement and identify policy solutions. You will know how to generate and analyse data and bring issues to life by drawing out the lived experience of people from Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish Traveller communities
You will led develop and sustain a small committed team of two policy and campaign officers to produce policy, research and campaigning activities. You will lead TMs Public relations and influencing work developing relationships with policy makers, partner organisations, parliamentarians and the media. You will ensure co-production and the voice and lived experiences ethnic Romani (Gypsy), Traveller and Roma is central to all our engagement and influencing work.

Main Areas of Responsibility
As a Talent Acquisition Partner, your responsibility will be to deliver a best-in-class recruitment experience for both candidates and the stakeholders across our network of 54 primary and secondary academies, and in our central team. You will help embed a culture of best practice planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding, as well as continually reviewing and improving processes to ensure we secure the best talent. Reporting to the Head of TA, you will line manage, coach and develop a Talent Acquisition Coordinator.
Reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, your responsibilities will include:
- Working with academy and head office senior leaders on delivering effective and diverse resourcing strategies for mid to long term recruitment needs.
- Meeting with hiring managers to qualify posts, to support in role creation, salary benchmarking and job/skills evaluation, and to plan a campaign and recruitment schedule for each position.
- Providing support, guidance and training to hiring managers on best practice, screening, reviewing applications, and supporting with panel interviews and/or preparation where needed.
- Supporting our in-house executive search function for senior appointments.
- Managing a high-touch recruitment process with both external and internal candidates to ensure the best possible candidate experience.
- Managing a robust full-cycle recruiting process for entry-level hires through to senior-level positions across the academy network and head office team.
- Developing new and existing sourcing strategies for talent pipelines, candidate pools and nurturing talent in line with workforce planning, from entry level to senior leadership.
- Helping develop and implement the use of testing and assessments to evolve our approach to skills/competency based hiring.
- Helping increase diversity and working with the wider People Services directorate on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Working with local HR teams and head office recruiters to oversee a the onboarding process and pre-employment screening.
- Developing communities and talent pools through advertising, headhunting/direct approaches, networks, university events, social media and employee referrals.
- Supporting with Employer Value Proposition, Recruitment Marketing, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Staff Referral and Engagement projects initiatives.

What We are Looking For
We are interested in hearing from experienced recruiters and would be particularly keen to speak with people who have gained experience working within a Multi Academy Trust HR or recruitment team, or in-house TA/recruitment team within public sector or not for profit environment.
You should be experienced in working closely with hiring managers to form close partnerships in order to deliver against recruitment objectives.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- A passion for recruitment and ensuring outstanding candidate experience
- The ability to problem solve and create innovative solutions to difficult hiring challenges
- Previous experience in building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Significant recruitment experience gained in an in-house function, RPO or consultancy
- Experience of implementing and developing recruitment processes
- A track record of recruiting across all level roles, from entry level through to senior leadership
- The skills to be resourceful, meticulous, and organised with the ability to multitask
- Experience of using ATS/HRIS
- Experience across several sourcing channels and techniques
- Knowledge of market trends and insights
- Qualifications to degree level or equivalent

Main Areas of Responsibility
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Partner, you will coordinate the end to end recruitment process and assess candidates during each stage of the process to ensure high levels of engagement with stakeholders and a best in class candidate experience.
You will also help to identify talented and diverse candidates for both open and future positions across our academy network and central team services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting academies by coordinating an efficient recruitment process in line with Federation objectives, department SLA and policies.
- Building effective relationships across all our academies and head office teams, gaining an in depth understanding of the competences and skills required throughout the Federation.
- Developing tools and processes to identify, manage and map talent, whilst creating alignment within the way recruitment and onboarding is managed across the Federation.
- Developing talent pipelines, candidate pools and nurture talent in line with workforce planning, from entry level to senior leadership.
- Identifying and coordinating candidates against open positions within the Federation as well as planning for future academies and talent needs of the Federation.
- Supporting with Employer Value Proposition, Recruitment Marketing, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Staff Referral and Engagement projects initiatives.
- Helping to coordinate the use of testing and assessments across various streams of recruitment and job levels
- Coordinating a high touch recruitment process with both external and internal candidates to ensure the best possible candidate experience.
What We are Looking For
We are looking for someone who will bring their passion and experience to enable us to consistently deliver high standards of recruitment to our academies and principals.
We are interested to hear from experienced recruiters who, ideally, have good knowledge and experience of working in education recruiting classroom teachers, classroom support staff and senior leaders in secondary and/or primary education.
We are also open to individuals who have recruitment/HR experience in similar industries such as healthcare, police force and charities.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Some recruitment experience gained in an in-house function, RPO or consultancy
- A track record of recruiting entry and experienced hires
- Experience across several sourcing channels and techniques
- Experience of using ATS/HRIS
- Experience in permanent and contingent recruitment
- Previous experience in building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- An awareness of industry changes and future developments impacting education recruitment
