The Role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced support worker to join our Young People Support Team based in Hackney. You will provide client directed, person centred support to help young people achieve personal goals and aspirations for independent living, training, employment, and education. You will assist and collaborate with young people to create and carry out a support plan designed around their needs and aspirations, providing information and inspiration, practical support, innovation, and encouragement. You will have an individual caseload but will work alongside a team of Support Workers, with similar client groups, working to the same principles and goals.

Recovery Worker

Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification or licensure as a Substance Misuse Counsellor is preferred.
- Prior experience in substance treatment or a related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment and recovery.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector
- Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
- Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others
What we would like, but not essential:
- Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
- Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
- Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will be working across Brighton and Hove as well as Worthing to support the static night worker during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties.
Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures. You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.
This is a mobile role, requiring all applicants to have a full valid, UK Driving Licence. You will also be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.
Our Mobile Night Workers work on four nights on, four nights off rota, working 8pm-7am including working over weekends and bank holidays. Although these are long shifts, you will get four days off after, which can provide a great work life balance.

About the Role
Chance UK has been delivering early-intervention services across London since 1995. Our longest running programme is our mentoring service where Mentors pick the child up from home and run a 1:1 session in the community, once a week for 2 hours. They use the solution-focused approach to work on building the child’s self-esteem and confidence, set goals and explore new places.
In addition, we are growing a range of community based groups running after school as well as some workshops delivered in schools which will support children with developing social and emotional skills and resilience through activities or skills development.

Windsor Road service offers 11 beds to people experiencing mental ill health. We are a CQC registered residential care home. We offer individual one to one interventions and sessions such as social anxiety, anxiety, finance and budgeting, positive self-image, building self-esteem, support with diet and nutrition, healthy eating, sleep hygiene, DBT skills, building resilience, life skills, solution-based therapy, stress management etc. We offer a range of activities in our service planner including a daily coffee morning, a ‘here and now’ group, community gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, social inclusion and family and friends’ days. We support our residents with daily living skills where this is needed, such as support with shopping and cleaning tasks, this could include prompting or supporting alongside them. We also work closely with other agencies and our residents wider care teams, so good communication skills are required. And of course, all of this is recorded on our information management systems, so good record keeping and documentation is also essential. Our service consists of 8 24/7 Recovery Workers, a Service Manager and Registered Manager.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to achieve independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a person-centred support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations, as part of your key worker role. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work or volunteering or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.
Care home, mental health support or social care experience is preferred. You will be required to administer medication and complete a medication qualification and the care certificate. About the role:
As a Resettlement Worker and Domestic Abuse Specialist, you will work in person and remotely with clients who have support needs, in particular, those who are survivors of domestic abuse. In conjunction with other members of the Partnership, you will support our clients to engage with services and find accommodation solutions. You will work in a person-centered way to get the best prevention, relief and support outcomes for the client.
Main duties:
- To work with clients with support needs, to engage with their prevention, relief or advice goals by; Agreeing with them a support plan to deliver the actions identified in the Personalised Housing Plan.
- Undertaking specific short term interventions to progress a client’s prevention or relief goals, including providing advice and support to enable individuals to improve their health and wellbeing.
- Providing advice and signposting to support clients to access relevant housing and wider support services.
- Working in partnership with RMG Caseworkers to deliver holistic housing and support service.
- Providing support to clients to access private rented and supported accommodation options.
- Referring to specialist internal and external support services as appropriate, including health, addiction and employment services.

About the Role:
This role is pivotal in helping enhance the ITF’s position as the global voice of seafarers and their representative Unions, the position will work closely with the Seafarers Section Co-ordinator and with other ITF Industrial Sections to advance the human centred direction toward the changes in the maritime industry.
The responsibility for the role includes the attendance at all IMO sessions, travel and attendance to maritime events within or outside the UK.
You will be asked to produce policy papers, and be able to offer strategic thinking on how to lobby and attract consensus from the IMO Members on issues that the ITF wishes to support.
The long-term objectives to support seafarers and affiliates with measures and regulations that protect their health and safety, to enhance the profile of seafaring profession.
You must be a skilled strategic thinker to ensure that the ITF is ahead of the potential changes at the IMO.
The role is responsible for a small team of colleagues that will assist the position to advance and co-ordinate the larger team of ITF Affiliated Union Officials, that will support with expert technical advice to the sessions of the IMO Sub Groups.

The Role
A new opportunity has arisen to be part of the North Yorkshire Horizons substance use treatment service in Northallerton. North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners, led by Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance use, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens. You will be working within a fantastic team, where a real sense of team work is present.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team this role requires someone with great communication skills who can create and sustain effective working relationships with external agencies to achieve quality outcomes for substance misusing offenders. You will have experience of providing drugs and alcohol related advice and an in depth knowledge of the issues facing individuals with a history of offending and wider support needs.
In addition to delivering a range of PSI interventions, the post holder will also facilitate court imposed Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR’s) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR’s), including the group work element and oversee the prescribed treatment for a caseload of service users within the Criminal Justice system. You may also be working with a cohort of people who use our service who may be on licence, subject to court orders or recently released from prison.
The Criminal Justice Drugs and Alcohol Worker will motivate service users to understand and manage their recovery and offending needs, and to support engagement with treatment provision. This role will work in partnership with other Humankind staff, NPS responsible officers, IOM, police, and community support services.

- To thrive in this role, you will need experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system, ideally with experience in substance use.
- A driving licence and access to a car is essential within this role due to the rural nature of our hubs.

Job Purpose
This role is within our crisis alternative service Safe Space - an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm (midday) - 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The role will consist of two shift patterns to ensure the service is covered: 11:30am-6:30pm and 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the support workers will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing.
