This exciting role will enable Alcohol Change UK to reach millions of people across the UK with key messages about alcohol and alcohol harm, delivered through print, online, and broadcast media engagement tactics. With a high level of existing press interest in our work and campaigns (including our flagship Dry January® campaign), this is an exciting moment as we look to develop our proactive media engagement and share reframed stories about alcohol which resonate with a huge audience. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Media engagement

Manage the organisation’s media inbox and phone line, handling enquiries from journalists and providing responses in a timely manner

Provide regular out of hours media cover on a rota basis (scaling depending on busier campaign periods, shared fairly with others and TOIL provided for hours worked)

Develop public media statements and quotes across the whole spectrum of Alcohol Change UK’s work, issuing to press both reactively and proactively

ABOUT YOU
Ideally, we would like someone with an interest in IT and have undertaken relevant IT qualifications, ideally at NVQ Level 3 or 4 although we will consider applications from those willing to work towards this.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- Appropriate academic/professional qualification: Minimum of GCSE, BTEC, and/or A-Level qualification in IT, English and Mathematics
- Experience of managing Microsoft Windows client operating systems – Windows 10/11
- Experience of administering and managing Microsoft 0365 admin centres
- Excellent problem-solving ability with a methodical and logical approach, able to work proactively to resolve challenges and mitigate further issues
- IT Proficiency at advanced level, ability to learn new software’s with ease and able to deliver training and support to others
What we would like, but not essential:
- Experience of working in first-, and second-line roles within agreed Service Level Agreements
- Experience in a similar support/service delivery environment, supporting with issues and incident management
- Additional professional Microsoft certifications
- Experience within a similar role in a similar sized and type of organisation

Purpose of the Operations Manager role:
As Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the effective day to day management of key business support services including operations, IT data and premises. As a Community Shop Manager for St Giles Hospice you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. Role Overview:
The purpose of the Executive Director roles within Depaul is to ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are delivered through a strategic, shared approach by the Trustee Board, Executive Team and wider workforce.
As the appointed candidate, you will manage the Finance and IT departments and provide strategic and operational management of financial and budgetary processes, ensuring sound, prudent, financial management in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements, underpinned by relevant policies and procedures.
You will provide support for income generation, and other service activity, to secure financial sustainability.
You will also report to the CEO and manager a team of 10 people - currently 8 FTE in Finance and 2 FTE in IT, including 2 direct reports – Financial Controller and Head of IT & Systems.
As part of responsibilities, you be attend meetings of the Council of Trustees, the Trustees’ Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC) and the Depaul Housing Services Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a financial service to Depaul UK that meets regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Ensure robust systems and processes for financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and corporate reports to Depaul International, owning an effective relationship with external auditors.
- Support and guide budget holders and senior managers in their financial management responsibilities and produce the annual budget and periodic reforecasting.
- Provide strategic oversight, and monitoring, of the corporate risk register reporting to the CEO and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.
