You will lead the development and delivery of a powerful national offer that equips youth work leaders with the investment, support, relationships and connections they need to thrive. Purpose of the job

The Head of Network Development will lead the operationalisation of UK Youth’s new We Back Youth Work Leaders strategic pillar. The role will turn our ambition to equip youth-work leaders with the skills, networks and confidence to deliver exceptional support into a coherent network development offer—leading our Grants+ approach of multi-year funding alongside tailored organisational development, and strengthening youth-sector infrastructure locally, regionally and across the UK nations.

Central to the role will be embedding UK Youth’s increasingly relational approach to its network: building trusted, mutually beneficial relationships with youth-work leaders; listening to and understanding their needs; involving them in shaping our support and connecting organisations to the right opportunities, expertise and infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Network Delivery, the postholder will be responsible for translating this strategic ambition into high-quality, well-governed delivery, while ensuring that learning and insight from the network continually improve our work and contribute to securing sustainable investment in youth work and outdoor learning.

Key responsibilities

 Portfolio leadership and delivery

• Lead the strategic and operational delivery of UK Youth’s network development portfolio, translating organisational strategy and funded commitments into clear plans, outcomes, budgets, milestones and accountabilities.

• Ensure programmes and services are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget, with effective governance, performance management, risk control and escalation to the Director of Network Delivery.

• Mobilise new initiatives and partnerships, establishing proportionate delivery models, systems, teams and governance arrangements.

• Lead continuous improvement across the portfolio, responding effectively to evidence, partner feedback, changing needs and the external environment.

• Be a champion of UK Youth’s network across all of UK Youth’s work.

Grant making and organisational development

• Lead the delivery of UK Youth’s significant, multi-year grant-making portfolio, including the £13 million UK Youth Fund, ensuring responsible stewardship of charitable and restricted funds.

• Ensure effective management of the full grant lifecycle, including programme design, application and assessment, due diligence, decision-making, contracting, payments, monitoring, reporting, complaints and closure.

• Maintain robust and proportionate grant governance, financial controls, safeguarding assurance, risk management, data quality and compliance with funder and regulatory requirements.

• Lead an integrated organisational development offer alongside grant funding, enabling smaller youth and outdoor learning organisations to strengthen their financial sustainability, leadership, governance, workforce and resilience.

• Embed open, trusting, accessible and equitable grant-making practice, reducing unnecessary barriers while maintaining appropriate accountability.

Network and sector infrastructure support

• Develop and deliver UK Youth’s approach to engaging, connecting and supporting our national network, informed by the needs and experiences of youth work leaders and organisations.

• Create opportunities for peer learning, collaboration, knowledge exchange and access to relevant support across the network.

• Lead major initiatives that strengthen youth sector infrastructure locally, regionally and nationally, working with partners to improve the consistency, coordination and accessibility of support.

• Support regional and national partners to understand need, develop shared plans and approaches, and deliver locally relevant infrastructure and organisational support.

• Work with the Communications Team and relevant colleagues to ensure network communications are timely, accessible, coordinated and purposeful.

Experience we're after

• Substantial leadership experience within the youth sector, grounded in an in-depth understanding of youth work practice, youth work leadership and the realities facing youth organisations and their leaders.

• Experience of leading a complex, multi-year network development or comparable portfolio, translating strategy and funded commitments into successful delivery and managing significant budgets and risks.

• Experience of leading substantial grant making or onward funding activity, including governance, due diligence, financial oversight, risk and accountability.

• Substantial organisational development and capacity building experience, including diagnosing organisational needs and designing practical support that strengthens leadership, governance, financial sustainability, workforce and resilience.

• Experience of developing networks, partnerships or infrastructure across multiple organisations, regions or systems, with demonstrable credibility among youth organisation leaders.

Waltham Forest CVS is the borough's independent infrastructure body for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector. We help local organisations to be well run, well funded and well connected, and we represent the sector's voice to the council, the NHS and other partners.

We are a small team doing a lot. In any given week we might be helping a new group get its governance right, running a network meeting, making the case for the sector with the council, or getting a grant out of the door. That range is what makes the work interesting. It also means the administration has to be solid, because when it isn't, everything else slows down.

You will manage the diary and the inboxes, service our board and sub-committee meetings and take the minutes, keep records and systems in order, help with events and training, and handle the day-to-day office and finance administration. Head of Operations

Are you an experienced operational leader who enjoys bringing people, processes and systems together to make an organisation work better?

We’re working with a fantastic Bath-based education charity to recruit a new Head of Operations at an exciting point in its development.

This is a broad and influential role, overseeing the organisation’s central operations across finance, facilities, data and insight, and administration. You’ll manage a team of experienced functional leads and create the effective ‘engine room’ that allows the wider organisation to focus on delivering for its beneficiaries.

The role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you’ll take responsibility for the smooth and effective running of central operations, with a particular focus on finance and financial planning, alongside organisational resilience, risk, compliance and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary operations team

· Overseeing the finance function, including financial management, reporting and compliance

The role has significant breadth, but you don’t need to be a technical specialist in every area. We’re looking for someone with the judgement to know when to lead directly, when to draw on the expertise within their team and when external support is required.

About you 

This could suit someone from an operations, finance or facilities background who has progressed into broader organisational leadership.

You’ll need significant experience of managing across multiple functions, alongside a track record of leading teams and improving systems and processes.

You should also be comfortable overseeing budgets and financial processes, managing risk and compliance, and working with external suppliers or professional advisers. Experience within a charity, education, membership or other mission-driven environment would be particularly valuable.

Most importantly, we’re looking for a practical and solutions-focused leader who enjoys bringing different functions together. Someone who can see the bigger picture but is equally comfortable getting involved when needed, building strong relationships and maintaining momentum through change.

ASLL is a small local charity based in Richmond-upon-Thames supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. What you will be doing:

We are seeking a conscientious and organised individual to lead the management of reserves across Shropshire, ensuring they are in good ecological condition and developed as safe, inspiring places for public access, education, research and demonstration. You will also support the Head of Reserves in managing and developing the Reserves team, with a particular focus on trainees, placements and apprentices.

You will oversee the safe and effective management of reserves through regular inspections, risk assessments and reactive works relating to trees, infrastructure and visitor safety. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for wildlife and nature, combined with practical experience in habitat and estate management. You will have experience carrying out inspections, planning and directing work, as well as managing wildlife projects, including budget management.

You will have experience supporting and directing colleagues through mentoring or coaching, managing and motivating volunteer groups, and supervising contractors. Connecting evidence, community experience and local action to build a shared understanding of East Surrey

Are you a skilled relationship-builder who can bring people together, identify themes across different sources of information and turn community intelligence into clear, useful insight?

The Opportunity

ESCIP is a one-year proof of concept designed to strengthen how community experience and VCSE intelligence inform local decision-making. It connects voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations with health, local authority and wider partners, creating stronger two-way feedback between communities and decision-makers.

This is not primarily an administrative post. You will build trusted relationships, coordinate a new quarterly forum, develop practical ways to gather and synthesise intelligence, and demonstrate how insight has influenced priorities and action. Because the programme is new, you will have genuine scope to shape how it works.

What You Will Achieve

Over the first 12 months, you will:

• Establish a quarterly East Surrey VCSE and Community Forum.
• Build trusted relationships with diverse VCSE organisations, including smaller groups and under-represented communities.
• Develop and test practical two-way feedback mechanisms between communities, VCSE partners and system leaders.
• Map intelligence sources and introduce consistent approaches to gathering and synthesising insight.
• Produce concise briefings highlighting emerging themes and implications for decision-makers.
• Maintain strategic relationships across health, local government, housing and neighbourhood partners.
• Support independent evaluation and contribute to the case for Year 2.

Main Responsibilities

Partnerships and Networks

• Coordinate day-to-day delivery of ESCIP, maintaining workplans, milestones and actions.
• Plan and support the quarterly East Surrey VCSE and Community Forum.
• Develop strong relationships across the VCSE sector and with NHS, local authority, housing, primary care and neighbourhood partners.
• Maintain wider partner engagement through targeted conversations, briefings and limited observer participation.
• Represent ESCIP professionally and act as a key point of contact.

Engagement and Community Insight

• Plan and deliver insight activity, including stakeholder conversations, workshops, surveys, desk research and analysis.
• Enable organisations of different sizes and capacities to contribute, particularly voices less often heard.
• Map existing intelligence sources, identify gaps and common themes, and distinguish between individual feedback, recurring themes and wider evidence.

Communication, Influence and Learning

• Turn qualitative and quantitative information into accessible summaries, briefings and recommendations.
• Create visible feedback loops so contributors understand what was heard and what happened next.
• Prepare stakeholder briefings and contribute to programme and funder reporting.
• Work with the independent evaluator and contribute learning to the future development of ESCIP.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role based in Oxted with autonomy and variety. Some meetings and community activity will take place across East Surrey, so the postholder must be able to travel within the area. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Occasional evening activity may be required by prior agreement, with time off in lieu. The postholder will work closely with colleagues from VASE and CSVA and will have access to office space, HR support and appropriate IT equipment.

Who we are

IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) is a national charity working to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the educational support they are legally entitled to. Since we were formed in 1983, we have helped to improve the education experience of thousands of children and young people across England. We do this by providing free and independent legal advice and casework support for families, undertaking policy work and delivering training on the SEND legal framework.

What you’ll do

Reports to: Fundraising Manager

Location: Remote, with occasional travel for funder and staff meetings 4-5 times a year

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Trusts and Philanthropy Officer to join our small, ambitious fundraising team. IPSEA has a proven track record of successfully securing grants for core costs and projects. You will be responsible for researching new funding opportunities, preparing and submitting tailored applications and reports, and managing relationships with funders through thoughtful and timely stewardship. You will also have the opportunity to shape the early development of our strategies in major gifts and wider philanthropy and contribute to this work into the future.

This is a key role in IPSEA’s fundraising strategy and will help secure long-term financial sustainability for our services.

Build the community of supporters who will sustain Palestine's first and only licensed palliative care service

Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust (BCHT) is a small UK charity supporting the development of specialist palliative and hospice care in Palestine. In August 2023, the service we support became the first licensed palliative care service in Palestine. Since then, its specialist nurses have cared for more than 350 patients and their families and delivered more than 5,000 home visits.

We now need to build the community of supporters who will help secure that service for the future. We are investing in professional fundraising for the first time and are looking for an enthusiastic, relationship-focused Community & Individual Giving Fundraiser to help grow our supporter base, develop community fundraising and increase regular giving.

The opportunity

This is a new role with considerable freedom to shape how BCHT develops community and individual giving. Working closely with Trustees, patrons, volunteers and existing supporters, you will initially focus on Yorkshire and northern England, where BCHT already has networks on which to build.

You will develop relationships with churches, schools, universities, Rotary clubs, community organisations, businesses and individual supporters; help people fundraise for BCHT; develop regular giving; and ensure that our supporters feel connected to the extraordinary work they make possible. You will also help us develop a more systematic approach to supporter communications, digital fundraising, stewardship and volunteer engagement.

This role could be for you if you have experience of community fundraising, individual giving, supporter engagement, marketing or relationship management; are an excellent communicator and natural relationship-builder; enjoy meeting people and are confident speaking to groups; can develop ideas and turn them into practical fundraising activity; can work independently; and want the opportunity to build something rather than simply inherit an established fundraising programme.

Experience of community or individual fundraising, regular giving, working with volunteers, CRM systems, or church, school or faith-community fundraising would be particularly valuable.

You will need to be based in Yorkshire and able and willing to travel regularly throughout the region.

The service has demonstrated what can be achieved. Our challenge now is to secure its future. We are investing in professional fundraising for the first time and are looking for an experienced Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to help us build the sustainable income needed to protect and strengthen this pioneering service.

The opportunity

This is an unusually autonomous role in which you will work directly with BCHT's Trustees and colleagues in Palestine. You will take responsibility for developing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations: identifying prospects, developing compelling propositions, preparing high-quality applications and building long-term funder relationships.

We currently raise approximately £60,000-£80,000 each year against a core service requirement of around £150,000. Your initial focus will therefore be sustainability of the existing service, with opportunities subsequently to support its development and growth. Our Year 1 income target for this role is £70,000.

This role could be for you if you have proven experience of successful trusts and foundations fundraising; can demonstrate success in preparing grant applications; write persuasively; can research and develop a strong prospect pipeline; are highly organised; can work independently; and would value the opportunity to use your professional expertise to make a direct and measurable difference.

Experience of healthcare, hospice or palliative care, international development, small charities or faith-based organisations would be useful but is not essential.
