Job description

Do you want a role where you can make a difference, where your work will help support those providing vital services to vulnerable young people? If so, we would love to hear from you!

This is an exciting time to join The Children’s Society as we strive to change the world for young people during a time where the pandemic has made life even harder for the most disadvantaged children. We provide over 100 local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in need of help.

This role sits within the Systems and Development team and is part of our Technology and Data function . We are looking for a diligent, hard working person with a good eye for detail and a passion for technology and innovation. A key part of this role will be to work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to configure systems and build solutions to fulfil those needs. As well as to provide support and training to systems users.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Excellent analytical skills with user centred approach and an understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to use a wide variety of applications and configure Case Management Systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to deliver the highest levels of service even in challenging conditions.

Since the onset of Covid19, the Children's Society has operated largely within a remote/hybrid working environment and the successful candidate will need a track record of working within a similar setup.

The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children’s lives happier and safer.

Every day we’re changing the lives of children in this country for the better – and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.

The Children’s Society is committed to safeguarding and protecting the children and young people that we work with.  As such, posts are subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.  We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.

The closing date for applications is 23:30 on Sunday 2nd of January 2022.

Interviews will be held on the week commencing 10th January 2022.
